It’s not just the swimming it’s the rips that can pull you out. I used to swim up stream in fast rivers for endurance for surfing when younger. I didn’t get very far then managed to stay in one place then start going backward, we can’t swim that fast. Then hypothermia, And lots of sharks and gators there.
