Making Liposomal Vitamin C

Posted by Maya @ 3:13 on October 12, 2014

I posted previously I was trying out some Liposomal Vitamin C. The YouTube video is here: [ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2eqfiTxDwg ]

Now, from deep in a bunker in the hinterlands, in the wee hours of the morning, we find the mad scientist at work in the laboratory….

I went whole-hog on the ultrasonic cleaner tank and got a nice, stainless steel one with a 2-Liter tank and powerful 60w. ultrasonic element like this one:

I planned on making a quart/liter batch size. For the receipe I used 30 grams of Vitamin C in the BUFFERED form. Vitamin C is Ascorbic Acid, and if you take large doses you will acidify your body, and that is not good. It takes roughly half again as much bicarbonate of soda to bring the ascorbic acid to a neutral pH around 7.3 to match your body’s natural pH. I used some “Buffered Vitamin C” powder that already has some mixed carbonates blended in… magnesium, potassium, calcium, & sodium carbonates (or biCarbonates).

If you are mixing your own, you could add about 14 grams of Sodium Bicarbonate to 30 grams of ascorbic acid to buffer it.

Mix this in a large glass container with 1 cup water. The mix will fizz! When it is done, you have your vitamin C solution.

Now take 90 grams of Organic, Non-GMO Lecithin (I used Swanson brand Sunflower lecithin) and two cups of hot water. Put the hot water into a blender and slowly add the lecithin powder while blending. Blend well until there are no lumps, and then add your 1 cup of Vitamin C solution and continue to blend. It will foam, but there should be no lumps.

You now have 24 ounces of tan liquid. Pour it into the Ultrasonic tank and set the timer for 30 minutes. Stir with a non-metal tool such as a wooden spoon or plastic straw. As the ultrasound homogenizes the liquid, you will have less and less foam on top. After 30 minutes there should be no more foam.

Pour this 24 ounces into a 1-quart pitcher. I find the lecithin to be less than palatable… kinda muddy tasting. I added a packet of orange flavored Crystal-Lite to one cup of water and added this to the pitcher for flavor. You now have 32 ounces of Liposomal Vitamin C containing 30 grams of vitamin C.

The dosage is easy… one shotglass is one ounce… is one gram of vitamin C. In this form it is allegedly more absorbable than the pill form and more effective. I’ve been drinking four shots twice a day with no ill effects. No loose bowels. The taste is tolerable with the orange flavor added after everything is homogenized in the ultrasound. In the case of a serious illness, one would have to drink a quart of this several times a day. I believe this is possible, but it may be more difficult if the patient is vomiting. The best approach would be to administer this early, at the first signs of sickness.

Not medical advice. I am not a doctor. I am a native american medicine man.
