Richard640 your 18:51 on fracing and methane gas

Posted by Deadeye @ 22:15 on October 4, 2014

Thank you for the report. It takes a doctor to fully understand a medical report, read between the lines, know the right questions to ask and recognize a bias viewpoint or real objective to a report. Enough truth is mixed into the report to make it sound creditable but it really says nothing of value. In east Texas virtually every fresh water well has methane gas in it. I can show anyone places where I can drive a pipe into the ground and light the methane gas that comes out and this in no where near there has ever been oil or gas production or fracing. The beauty of writing a report is it can range from simple truth to blantant lies all on the same subject using the same data. In the oil business  the first is called a successful producer and the second is called a costly dry-hole. Of coarse a lying promoter can get rich in the short run but a good producer lasts a lifetime and a good reputation makes it easy to make as much money as one needs or wants – within reason. I was raised and worked in a culture of truth and a handshake, followed by a simple one page letter agreement usually dictated to a secretary not written by a lawyer – the purpose was to prevent a lapse of memory or misunderstanding with many large deals done over the telephone. Life was so good and simple back then and still is for the few of us left to reminess and tell old stories. I just got back from a pizza with a multi-millionaire many times over. I knew him when – as he said, “My wife and I didn’t have a pot to pee in when he started a petro frac business in the 1960s. Today there are almost unlimited opportunities but not so simple as back then. It has been a fun trip. Goodnight, Deadeye

Gold In The News This Week
Posted October 4th, 2014 at 11:57 AM (CST) by Jim Sinclair & filed under General Editorial.

My Dear Friends,

Gold has had a historic amount of negative print and airtime this week. The Yamana and Armstrong comments seem timed perfectly to kick the legs out from under gold. The price of the US Dollar seems to have forgotten it was at .7900 only 11 weeks ago.

The dollar has risen because the Euro collapsed 1000 points from 1.3600 to below 1.2600. This collapse of the Euro is due to the serious sanction’s impact on Europe which have not significantly damaged any US financial interests. On the contrary, anti Russian sanctions have tipped Europe into recession. Draghi has been trying to talk the Euro lower for trade reasons, but his power is only words as QE there is more than likely against their constitution. This will decided soon.

To declare a permanent death sentence on gold because of the dollar’s mirror image up move to the sanction-injured euro is premature in rally week #12.

Gold is trading down into old lows which by definition are major support levels while both long and short term cyclical indicators have gone positive. Therefore probability says the decline is nearing an end both in time and price.

I am fully committed financially to gold as I was above $1900. I anticipate success.

This will drive the gold hating internet trolls wild, but all their efforts fit nicely into the spam blocker. I do not open emails from new names during these trying times as I know the organized and strategized hate that pours out of them.

The takedown on gold is a highly organized spoofing play. It will fail to hold gold down permanently, and gold will again trade to new highs.

Deadeye-I love this…

PS. Had I rather own gold that is priced at $1200 and really worth $10,000 or would I rather own paper dollars priced at $1.00 but really worth $0.01 or less? I still chose physical Gold/Silver. Paper and gold stocks are for real gamblers like the song says.

Methane levels were 17 times higher in ground water near areas where shale-gas “fracking” wells had been drilled in Pennsylvania, compared with areas where no gas drilling had occurred, a new study has found.

Duke University researchers analyzed methane gas in 68 private ground-water wells across five counties in Pennsylvania and New York. The study cited “evidence for methane contamination of drinking water associated with shale-gas extraction.”

In shale-gas extraction, water is mixed with chemicals and sand and is injected at high pressure deep into shale formations, which then releases natural gas.

MONITOR QUIZ: News quiz for May 1-7, 2011

The peer-reviewed study, which is being published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, is one of the first to conclude that hydraulic fracturing is polluting ground water. And it’s likely to be used as ammunition in court by those opposing drilling in sensitive watersheds.

The hydraulic fracturing approach has dramatically increased available US reserves of natural gas by unlocking gas that was previously trapped in shale formations from the mid-Atlantic to Texas to Colorado. But environmentalists and local residents have long claimed that fracking pollutes ground water with methane as well as with chemicals in the injection fluids.

The Duke researchers said that the presence of methane likely was due to its escape from faulty drill casings.

While the study found high methane levels, it did not find any evidence that the chemicals injected at deep levels to fracture the shale had moved upward to pollute relatively shallow ground water.

“We found no evidence for contamination of drinking-water samples with deep saline brines or fracturing fluids,” the study found. “We conclude that greater stewardship, data, and possibly regulation are needed to ensure the sustainable future of shale-gas extraction and to improve public confidence in its use.”

Even so, the study was immediately attacked by natural-gas industry lobby groups. They zeroed in on the lack of base-line data to further corroborate that the higher methane levels were caused by drilling and were not naturally occurring.

“It’s amazing these guys are this comfortable making these kinds of conclusions with a data set this small, no random sampling, and no baseline information to speak of whatsoever,” said Chris Tucker, a spokesman for Energy in Depth, in a statement. Energy in Depth is a drilling industry lobby group.

Researchers said that while they lacked base-line data, the higher levels of methane within one kilometer of nearby gas wells were so strongly correlated statistically that it would be difficult to conclude that they were caused by anything else.

At least some of the homeowners who claim that their wells were contaminated by shale-gas extraction appear to be right,” Robert Jackson, lead author of the study, said in a statement.

Environmentalists hailed the study, which comes on the heels of a Cornell University study that found that the overall process of collecting shale gas produced more greenhouse gases than many had expected. More research is needed, the environmentalists said.

“It comes as no surprise that natural gas is not as clean as the industry pretends,” says Deborah Goldberg, an attorney with Earthjustice, an environmental group. “The gas industry has made it virtually impossible to do base-line testing because in order to do that, researchers need to know what they’re testing for – not just methane, but the variety of other contaminants being injected into the ground.”

Chemicals from the fracking fluids, she adds, are likely to appear decades from now as they work their way up from deeper levels.

Hydraulic fracturing for natural gas is being conducted in shale formations in 32 states, according to an Earthjustice tally. New York has blocked the controversial practice pending results of an environmental review later this year. The Environmental Protection Agency is conducting a study whose results are not expected until 2012.

10-3–Trader Dan on Gold-GDXJ etc–and tears into “gold perm-bulls”

Posted by Richard640 @ 18:43 on October 4, 2014

Next, is the darling of the gold perma bulls, the GDXJ. I find it hard not to be obnoxious at this point but I well remember, and I am sure most of the regular readers/poster here do as well, how we had to suffer through the crowing and cackling of those extolling the praises of the junior miners for 2014 as if somehow they were investing geniuses because at one point its gains were actually greater than those of the S&P 500 for the year. No matter that the index had collapsed from over 160 and was now trading with a paltry “3” handle in front of it. Nope, none of that mattered you see for they and they alone were the truly wise and savvy traders/investors who had recognized the “bargains” in the sector and were now gloating in their new found gains. One can only hope that some of them were actually a lot smarter than what can be deduced from their posts and that they actually managed to sell some of the useless things while they still had some meager gains left in them for the year.

I will have to beg the forbearance of my regular readers if have crossed the line and seem a bit too severe on them. After having to suffer through their annoying and arrogant boasting it is rather amusing to see them get their proper comeuppance in the markets. As said here many times, having learned my lessons severely in the school of hard knocks, there is nothing so fitting for a successful trader than humility. Boasters come and go. I have seen and known many of them over my career. Anyone can have an occasional good trade. Doing it year in and year out, over and over again, takes great skill and hard work with many long hours. The successful trade is a sort of reward in itself because you are in effect pitting yourself against others in the markets. Only one side is going to be right. The losing side ends up donating their money to the winners. That is just a hard, cold fact about a zero sum business.

When you lose money you either learn from it, become more humble, less reckless, less prone to boasting or you are soon a FORMER trader or FORMER investor.

One last chart for now ( I will get some stuff up later as I have a busy afternoon right now ). Gold

Look at the weekly chart and tell me if you can see the Triple Bottom. There is an old trader’s adage that double bottoms and double tops tend to hold but triple bottoms and triple tops do not. We are going to see very soon if this is validated this time around. I suspect gold will not hold but could be wrong.

ipso, looks like I was a little conservative on “by the end of the week” assessment.

More on the missing Kim Jong-un

Posted by ipso facto @ 15:28 on October 4, 2014

It is impossible to know exactly what is going on in North Korea, but something big has happened. The third generation Kim dynasty heir, Kim Jong-un, has been missing from public sight for a month, and may be ill, dead, or overthrown. There is much speculation, and contradictory reports are circulating, including the assertion that Pyongyang is sealed off, and no one is being permitted to enter or leave. But one fact is clear and it is dramatic. CNN reports:

With Kim Jong Un out of sight for a month, a covey of North Korea’s high officials popped down to South Korea for a last minute jaunt on Saturday, and delivered a diplomatic bonbon.

The three officials told South Korea that Pyongyang is willing to hold a second round of high-level meetings between late October and early November, South Korea’s Unification Ministry

The US should cancel all visas from the “hot zone.” Evidently some of the European countries have already done this. For Obama to not do this is an incredible lack of concern for the health of the people in the USA. IMO

How do you feel about Liberians coming into Canada?

The Liberian .gov isn’t going to shut down the airport, and even if they did, people will make like the Vietmanese and sift through their border to another airport destination.

All those connecting flights through Europe and Asia…not gunna happen.

Your TSA/Customs need to perform a real function by not letting anyone into the country (or on the plane to begin with) with a passport stamp from the Hot Zone.

Of course that ain’t gunna help Jim Bob from Texas sitting on a plane next to a carrier.

To not shut down flights from Liberia is a tragedy in the making

Liberians Flood Airport Attempting to Flee Ebola-Struck Country

Kit Daniels
Prison Planet.com
October 3, 2014

Liberians are apparently flooding Roberts International Airport in Harbel, Liberia, in an attempt to flee the Ebola-struck country, raising fears that more people infected with Ebola will fly into America.

Thomas Eric Duncan, the 40-year-old Liberian national who was diagnosed with Ebola a few days after arriving in Dallas, Texas, may have started a trend of “Ebola tourism” in which Liberians leave their country to seek better treatment for the disease.

“That’s not something we should be encouraging or allowing,” Mark Krikorian, executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies, told the Washington Times.

Overall, around 200,000 people from the West African countries hit hardest by Ebola hold temporary visas to the U.S., but the Obama administration has rejected calls to enact a visa ban.

“Based on State Department nonimmigrant visa issuance statistics, I estimate that there are about 5,000 people in Guinea, 5,000 people in Sierra Leone, and 3,500 people in Liberia who possess visas to come to the United States today,” Jessica M. Vaughan, director of policy studies at the Center for Immigration Studies, told the Washington Examiner.

Temporary visas given to Nigerians have recently skyrocketed, with nearly 195,000 Nigerians currently holding visas, she added.

The Obama administration has similarly refused to impose a ban on travel from the Ebola hot zone into the U.S., despite pressure from a Florida Democrat and the fact that other countries have enacted similar bans

The Uderlying cause of this recession

Posted by Ororeef @ 10:22 on October 4, 2014

is the Fractional Reserve Banking System.Based on a 10 % deposit we carry 90% DEBT ,and we have maxed out the debt we carry ! If the interest rate on that debt is 10 % YOU ARE BUSTED !  Add in some derivative debt thats “off the Books” and you are living on “Cash Flow”.

Thats why interest rates are near zero, anything higher can’t be paid without defaulting.    It takes about 55 years from start to get to where we are today history shows us.The default will come, its a mathematical certainty unless the laws and rules of banking are abolished and then a Totol wipe out will occur via hyper inflation or military take over like Zimbabwe  I love to tell people “you do the Math”,because I know they can’t   .It makes their heads hurt .They think if only they could find the right words all will be ok. Why not just substitute the word “debt”  for asset and all will  be ok.   They think in terms of words ,that’s why “talking Heads” influence them so much.I have in front of me a 100 billion “Special AGRO-CHEQUE” issued in 2008 given to me by my son.Payable on Demand from the “RESERVE BANK of ZIMBABWE”…I wonder what their “reserves” consist of ?   I believe its the same country that used to be called Rhodesia ,a Country that used to EXPORT FOOD ,but no MORE since they drove out the Colonialists and went Native  and Politically correct !.My Zimbawe Note has a beautiful picture of multiple Grain Storage bins presumably from days long past since they IMPORT Food now ! They are so proud of their past that is now fiction.

Now they just print Paper and I believe my 100 billion Note is now in the Trillions. But they endure with their politically correct Government. Maybe we will too as soon as a 100 Trillion Dollar FRN is issued !

Civilization ? really ? they hack each other with machetes  .How come the missionaries and western Nations   had to show them how to do everything ?

Its a cradle of stupidity ,run by dictators one step away from being cannibals .Yet the Socialist do gooders tell us  its the cradle of civilization …Seems to me it never got out of cradle and advanced to stage two  .If its the OLDEST civilization ,how come it never advanced ? It has MORE natural resources than any other continent ,It has a good climate ,abundant rain in most country s .It has Gold ,It has OIL,it has diamond mines, uranium,The only thing it lacks is civilization ! Now  is spreads disease like AIDS ,Ebola …its the cradle of disease would be a more appropriate description.!

The American press lies about everything connected to Africa ! The colonies were the first signs of civilization appearing there ,now thats politically incorrect  ,so they have to go back to what they had before ! The cradle of Poverty and disease  .Not even the Genius of Dr Albert Schweitzer could civilize them and he had 4  PHD’s  ,nor will Bill Gates millions brink good health to them .The road to Hell is paved with Good Intentions…The cradle of civilization never got cleaned ,washed or sanitized ….basic stuff  to be called a civilization.

Ebolagate: 47 questions and answers

Ebolagate: 47 questions and answers

by Jon Rappoport

October 3, 2014

I have presented this information, in depth, in other recent articles. Here I present the bare bones.

Q: What is the major psychological factor at work here?

A: Above all else, it is people making an automatic connection between their own frightening image of Ebola and the statement, “So-and-so is sick.”

Q: “Sick” doesn’t automatically=Ebola?

A: That’s right, even when an authority says some person is sick and in the hospital and has Ebola.

Q: Is the Ebola epidemic a fraud, in the same way that Swine Flu was a fraud?

A: In the summer of 2009, the CDC stopped counting cases of Swine Flu in the US.

Q: Why?

A: Because lab tests on samples taken from likely and diagnosed Swine Flu cases showed no presence of the Swine Flu virus or any other kind of flu virus.

Q: So the CDC was caught with its pants down.

A: Around its ankles. It was claiming tens of thousands of Americans had Swine Flu, when that wasn’t the case at all. So why should we believe them now, when they say, “The patient was tested and he has Ebola.” The CDC is Fraud Central.

Q: Where is the fraud now, when it comes to counting Ebola cases and labeling people with the Ebola diagnosis?

A: The diagnostic tests being run on patients—the antibody and PCR tests are most frequently used—are utterly unreliable and useless.

Q: Therefore, many, many people could be labeled “Ebola,” when that is not the case at all?

A: Correct.

Q: But people are sick and dying.

A: People are always sick and dying. You can find them anywhere you look. That doesn’t mean they’re Ebola cases.

Q: In other words, medical authorities can place a kind of theoretical grid over sick and dying people and reinterpret them as “Ebola.”

A: Exactly. The map can be drawn in any number of ways.

Q: Could an “Ebola patient” have other viruses in his body?

A: Of course. Many other viruses. The mere presence of a virus does not mean a person is sick or is going to get sick.

Q: What test needs to be run, in order to say, “This person is sick because of Ebola.”

A: First of all, the Ebola virus would need to be isolated from the patient directly. The two tests I mentioned above are indirect. Then, if Ebola is isolated from the patient directly, a test needs to show that the patient is harboring millions of active Ebola virus—that’s called a test for titer.

Q: Are these procedures being done as a matter of course on people suspected of having Ebola?

A: No.

Q: We’re told that the Dallas Ebola patient was vomiting profusely outside his apartment, before he was sent to the hospital. Isn’t this a symptom of Ebola?

A: It could be a symptom of many things. Some news reports state that the patient had already been to the hospital, where he was given antibiotics and sent home. All classes of antibiotics list nausea and vomiting as adverse effects.

Q: So the symptoms of Ebola, like cough, fever, fatigue, diarrhea—these can be attributed to many causes?

A: Absolutely. The flu, for example.

Q: Now we’re seeing a search operation for contacts of several Ebola patients.

A: This will whip up hysteria to new heights. But where is the proof that the original patients have Ebola?

Q: Again, the original patients are sick.

A: “Sick” does not automatically equal “Ebola.”

Q: What’s killing all those people in West Africa?

A: With the tests being run on them—and many are simply eyeballed and called “Ebola”—there is no proof that any of these people have Ebola.

Q: There are other long-term reasons for death and dying in West Africa?

A: Protein-calorie malnutrition, hunger, starvation, extreme poverty, contaminated water supplies, overall lack of basic sanitation, a decade of horrific war, toxic medical drugs, prior toxic vaccine campaigns, etc.

Q: And the combined effect of these conditions?

A: Destruction of immune systems. Then, any germ that sweeps through the population, a germ that would ordinarily be defeated, instead kills many people. Why? Because the immune system is too weak to respond. With healthy and strong immune systems, the germs would have no significant effect.

Q: What about the health workers in West Africa who have died?

A: Since unreliable diagnostic tests would have been run on them, we don’t have any idea why they died. But at least some of them were suffering greatly from working inside hazmat suits, sealed off from the outside. In a one-hour shift, in boiling heat, they were losing five quarts of body fluid, then coming out, rehydrating, disinfecting with toxic chemicals, putting their suits on again, going back to patients for the next shift, losing extraordinary amounts of body fluid again, and so forth and so on. That would cause anyone to collapse.

Q: But this has to be an Ebola epidemic, with all the press coverage, with statements from the CDC, with announcements from experts.

A: That’s what they said about Swine Flu, which was a dud. This doesn’t have to be Ebola just because official sources say it is.

Q: Let’s get back to the psychological factors involved here.

A: A person has heard all about how dangerous Ebola is. He has a fear of some unknown invisible tiny killer, a virus. He has heard about “bad diseases” coming from Africa. Now, someone from the CDC stands up and talks about the threat of Ebola and says a patient with Ebola is in a Dallas hospital, and is sick. What’s the effect? Utter acceptance of the idea that the hospital patient has Ebola. “It’s Ebola. It couldn’t be anything else.”

Q: But it could be something else?

A: Of course.

Q: People don’t want to accept that, though. They want to believe in the doctors and the CDC and the tests that are run on people to decide if they have Ebola.

A: That belief isn’t based on anything real.

Q: People believe in the power of what they’re told.

A: Yes. It’s interesting to see people who otherwise call the CDC a fraud suddenly accept the CDC’s edict about Ebola. There is no rational substance to that acceptance.

Q: So to be clear, you’re saying there might not be an Ebola epidemic at all.

A: What do you need to determine whether people have Ebola? Accurate diagnostic tests. Accurate tests aren’t being done. So this is an unproven epidemic. And making the assertion of an epidemic is a hoax.

Q: Like the Swine Flu.

A: Exactly. As I said, in the summer of 2009, the CDC stopped counting cases of Swine Flu and yet maintained there was an epidemic. The samples of blood from patients they sent to labs showed, in the overwhelmingly number of cases, that there was no Swine Flu virus present.

Q: And at that time, how many cases of Swine Flu had the CDC already said were present in the US?

A: Tens of thousands.

Q: And what did the CDC do next?

A: Unbelievably, they doubled down and estimated there were 22 MILLION cases of Swine Flu in the US. That’s the level of lying we’re dealing with here. And now, the CDC says Ebola is loose. The diagnostic tests they’re running and relying on are useless. But everybody and his brother believes the CDC.

Q: Again, people dying doesn’t automatically equal Ebola? You’ll hear, “What else could it be? It must be Ebola.”

A: People have all sorts of preconceptions that lead them to say, “It must be Ebola.” Here is the sequence: We hear nothing about people dying. Then the press reports, “People are dying. It’s an outbreak. It’s Ebola.” And that is automatically accepted. Why? Because populations have been tuned up by decades of propaganda to make those connections.

Q: Believing what you say here—this would imply such an enormous level of fraud—it’s unthinkable.

A: No, it’s not unthinkable. Again, for comparison, I refer you to the Swine Flu hoax. That was absolutely staggering. It was exposed by CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson in October of 2009. She published her work on the CBS website. CBS was about to put the story on the Evening News. Then it was stopped. Attkisson was cut off at the knees. Censored.

Q: Why?

A: Because the entire vaccine establishment, including the CDC, which is really a PR agency for pharmaceutical companies, would have been exposed for all to see. By calling Swine Flu an epidemic, millions and millions of Swine Flu shots were given. The CDC, knowing the “epidemic” was a fraud, their own fraud, was pitching the vaccine as if their lives depended on it.

Q: Was the World Health Organization (WHO) involved in the fraud?

A: They started it.

Q: How?

A: As Peter Doshi has written in BMJ Online, in the spring of 2009, with only 20 cases of Swine Flu in the world—20—the WHO declared Swine Flu a “level 6 pandemic,” their highest classification of danger. Not only that, they changed their own definition of “pandemic,” so that it no longer had to mean widespread and severe death and dying. They just changed the meaning of word “pandemic.” Quite Orwellian.

Q: But the US government is buying and distributing hazmat suits. People are being quarantined. There is a hunt for contacts of the Dallas patient. Stories in the press are ramping up fear. All these people couldn’t be wrong.

A: I have condos for sale on the moon. I think you might be an ideal customer.

Q: Speaking of the CDC, a long-term scientist with the agency, William Thompson, recently admitted he committed fraud, when he co-authored a 2004 study that claimed the MMR vaccine had no connection to autism.

A: Thompson had several co-authors from the CDC on that study. They all committed fraud. Consider the conversations that must have taken place at the CDC to arrange that fraud.

Q: Do you think the fraud went all the way to the top of the CDC?

A: In 2004, whistleblower Thompson wrote a letter to Julie Gerberding, the head of the CDC. He warned her he was about to present troubling and sensitive data about the vaccine at an upcoming conference on vaccines and autism. His meaning was clear. He had found a vaccine-autism connection.

Q: What did Gerberding do?

A: She never answered Thompson’s letter, and his presentation at the conference was canceled.

Q: Is Gerberding still the head of the CDC?

A: No. She left the CDC in 2009.

Q: Where is she now?

A: She’s the president of Merck vaccines.

Q: What vaccine do they manufacture?

A: The MMR.

Q: The same vaccine Thompson found had a connection to autism?

A: Yes.

Q: And for 10 years, from 2004 to now, Thompson and his co-authors sat on the knowledge that the MMR vaccine has a connection to autism?

A: Yes.
