Livermore: “Men Who Can Be Both Right and Sit Tight are Uncommon”

Vieux Chateau Landon 2000

Well, 15 years was worth the wait ……..

The 2000 Bordeaux Vintage was fine on both banks, and all price categories.

I was stunned that a $30 dollar bottle of wine aged so well and REWARDED me for the patience in the cellar.

I drove  down the cottage last night on a “solo mission” with one of the dogs, taking some tools and fall cleanup supplies.  I got my work done and opened up a 2000 Bordeaux, to accompany some seared scallop risotto

“That level of consistency in 2000 Bordeaux wine is one of the key hallmarks to a great Bordeaux wine vintage. The wines are deep, ripe, rich, concentrated, flamboyant and expressive. The tannins are ripe and round. The wines are built to age, yet their charm allows them to enjoyed in their relative youth.”

Back in town,   I have to ready the snowblower ……..

“Sit tight”   and move  ………  Onward Pilgrims

the financial world is really in trouble

many if not most are looking to stack their own resources .. to protect them selves ..the little guy will be run over by this big truck

this causes the few who have wealth to stack more .. japans recent moves protect the powerful business groups..

the consumer has no such protection … their prospect of future economic help is no where to be seen.. even the retirement system in japan is looking to buy foreign security’s….why … to help business not the consumer

the question remains .. how come gold IN YEN did not jump with the news of huge new liquidity in the system?… boggles the frontal lob of the brain….shift lol

Just my humble opinion,  and thanks for all the views that you post, makes for interesting reading, but…….unless someone is part of the ‘System’, I no longer think any of the ‘experts’ know where the price of the PM’s go next. Throw the charts to the wind, the PTB will push the levers of manipulation in whatever direction they wish, until that day when the levers no longer work.

Sitting patiently in the rocking chair, following the example of men wiser than myself, still stacking and keeping a pot of coffee on.

In closing, let me say this… gold’s downside breach of $1180 has as much technical significance as its breach of major chart support near the $1530-$1525 level in April of 2013. That too was a TRIPLE BOTTOM that failed.

Note that gold spent 18-19 months moving sideways in a broad range between roughly $1800 on the top and $1530-$1525 on the bottom. When it broke down below that range at the TRIPLE BOTTOM it proceeded to fall another $345 before bottoming out and forming the base of a new 16-17 month long sideways trade above what proved to be another TRIPLE BOTTOM at $1180 that failed today.

The question now becomes will gold do what the pattern calls for, namely eventually leg down somewhere between $300 and $345 before bottoming and carving out yet another base? That could put the metal down as far as $835 – $880 before reaching a new bottom once more.

Of course that seems inconceivable to many but back when gold was trading in the range between $1800 and $1525, it seemed inconceivable at that time that it could ever fall as low as below the $1200 level!

Please note that this is not a prediction; it is merely an observation based upon an analysis of former price action which extrapolates POTENTIAL. Much of course depends on the overall direction of the US economy and whether or not Central Bank activity proves to be insufficient to deal with the deflationary headwinds buffeting it.
