Gold seems to have plateaued out the past hour but u skeptics keep in mind this:

Posted by Richard640 @ 15:48 on December 1, 2014

Golds low last nite was 1142 and high today was 1220-that’s a $78 buck move–I don’t keep stats but that could be the biggest move in the past 3 yrs since gold topped–ditto silver=14.48 to 16.68-that’s a $2.20 move

Yes! These one off days are always reversed….BUT…the way and the timing of todays action has all the ingredients of a major event=the back test of the bottom–the drop in response to news=the swiss vote–then the recovery-blowing thru all sorts of levels and m.a.’s on big volume–best of all silver is participating–One just has to be in on this type day…!!!

Egypt and Kuwait set up military alliance to counter Libya and Yemen rebels

Egypt, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Kuwait are in the midst of preparing alliance to counter groups in Libya and Yemen who are arming themselves.

In a statement to the AP agency, Egyptian senior officials have said that the four countries are considering an alliance in order to monitor and respond to any developments in the region.

The Egyptian officials said that this new coalition will be separate from the alliance that was created by USA against ISID and will not be used to control Iraq and Syria but rather assist Libya and Yemen.

JP Moron may well have accumulated a decent long over mny years……but the Vol sold short dwarfs any long ever bt.

Butler makes the mistake of analysing the Crimex COT, wheras the LBMA is way larger and never discloses Vol or open interest. That’s there the monster short can be hidden along with the ETF’s.

I am more and more certain that the ETF’s were only allowed, so unlimited shorting that never has to settle or deliver can occur.

Never jumped out so I’m hoping you’re right.

Just sayin’ pm’s have an awful lot of proving to do. Otherwise traitor Dan may be right about this just being a short covering rally.

I hear you, but by the time you wait those days, weeks, and months to be sure, you will never have the courage to jump back in. You’ll still be sitting on the outside waiting for the pullback that never comes. Gotta be in it to win it!!……Silverngold

drb2 @ 13:25 You displayed healthy skepticism with your questions about who is Rob Kirby.

Posted by Equisetum @ 14:44 on December 1, 2014

I cannot provide any background beyond what you can find readily with your own internet searches.  All I can offer is my own  opinion that for some time now Rob Kirby has offered up comments  that I have come to trust and respect.  You are wise to do your own due diligence research into the background of those who offer opinion on the precious metals market.  In doing the same myself, I have not in the past few years found any red flags that turn me off what Rob Kirby has to say.  Best wishes in any PM investing with which you may be involved.    Equiz.

drb2 @ 13:25-He,s been around for a while and I think he is involved with GATA

As far as I know Kirby was one of the first to bring JPM.s massive derivative position to light.

Silverngold – I’d love to believe that your charts are calling an obvious bottom, OTOH, I think Maddog has a point and that is that we need to see several days, weeks, months of rally to prove it. We’ve seen several of these great up days in the last few years only to be taken down even further over the following days, weeks.

A good start would be to have some follow thru tomorrow. We’ll see.

Re Butler

I just don’t see how the short covered and went long in a mkt falling apart, not in the size JP Scum deals in.

If the shorts ever cover, then we will see days like this for months, they’ve been selling size since the mid ’90’s.

SILVER IS A DREAM

Being in the construction industry, one always runs into difficult complex problems

I kept  pencil & paper on the night stand because I dreamed how to solve the problems, woke up a wrote key works down & back to sleep

I thought everyone dreamed like that till I talked with my buddy on a road trip

RE: Rob Kirby interview

Posted by drb2 @ 13:25 on December 1, 2014

Auandag; Scruffy – thanks for posting that stuff by Rob Kirby

Having just gotten a chance to listen to the interview, I will say that I agree with much of what he says – “Dollar hegemony”, “buying time”, “fraud”….

But not knowing much about Kirby, questions come up that relate to his credibility. Especially when he talks of 50% premiums to spot.

I wish Greg Hunter would have told us more about him.  Who is Kirby? What is his background?

Kirby, “who specializes in acquiring large amounts of physical gold for clients…”

How did he get his niche?

Why would anybody that has the ability to buy tonnes of gold use Kirby? Not use a bullion bank or Goldman or COMEX surrogates?   For that matter, at these prices they could buy their very own gold mine !

Would appreciate any info you have on the man.

After yesterday’s Swiss vote and PM pounding, it looks like the shorts were suckered. My heart bleeds for them!

Maddog-Boys & Girls-I am about to share with you an insight that NO ONE within the PM community or outside it has understood:

Posted by Richard640 @ 13:12 on December 1, 2014

There is an insatiable demand by governments and wealthy individuals to get out of fiat currency and into tangibles–this, we all know! These investors knew that gold and silver was “off limits”–so they poured money into real estate-mainly in the U.S.–also into ART AND OTHER COLLECTIBLES.

On Thanksgiving I was talking to a money manager at a party and he brought me up to date on prices

A 1972 Ferrari racer sold for 70 some million dollars- a young black painter who was active in the 80s and 90s-and since died-he had a little scene in lower Manhattan–his paintings are 20-30 mill–I had no idea that prices had just recently gone thru the roof–ditto manhattan real estate—just a few yrs ago if there was a 20-30 mill buck sale, it was a big deal–now 50 to 150 mill is being transacted–

OK, so what is the big insight?????? Just this: These same investors are looking at gold and silver-platinum etc and maybe oil….grains, too–but especially G&S and are realizing–that they are

THE LAST FRONTIER OF EXTREME, SEVERE, UNDERVALUATION—and I believe today is RECOGNITION TIME- FOR G&S-

Maybe Japan was the trigger…but the reasons to own gold require a very long list to cover them all–and all these reasons have been cavalierly and studiously brushed aside..,as Yogi would say: “It doesn’t matter until it does”

The recovery off the overnite lows for G&S are staggering! I could be wrong but this looks like the real deal…DYOD

Scruffy @ 12:32-Kirby is the best:

Posted by Auandag @ 13:07 on December 1, 2014

He has been the only one, over the last few years, who has claimed interest rates were going to keep falling. All the rest called for higher rates. He has a long background in the derivative markets and that is where all the manipulation is!

probably the best hack that could be accomplished

Posted by eeos @ 13:06 on December 1, 2014

is for the Russians and Chinese to infiltrate the banks and hedge funds that are manipulating the markets and hack the communication system they use and fry them. Produce bad information they use to self implode the beast

I believe what you have to say silverngold

Posted by eeos @ 13:02 on December 1, 2014

and I know you’re right, but the charts are for the birds right now

IMO we have just started the largest and longest bull run up in PM’s

Posted by silverngold @ 12:59 on December 1, 2014

You truly have to be blind not to be able to see it. Armstrong says it’s a bounce so stay out. Same with Traitor Dan, unless I’m misreading these guys. That has been their job IMO, to keep you out!!

I was in too early but at least I won’t be sitting outside wondering why I am and how I missed the greatest run up in history. All The Best…..Silverngold!!

An accidental leak and Fed OIG investigates and publishes audit. Intentional FOMC leak and OIG does nothing?

Posted by eeos @ 12:56 on December 1, 2014

Alarms went off inside the Federal Reserve: the Fed’s innermost secrets had leaked to Wall Street.

Confidential deliberations of the Federal Open Market Committee made their way into a research note circulated among traders.

The report — a fly-on-the-wall account of the FOMC’s September 2012 meeting, with hints of Fed action to come that December — prompted a mole hunt that reached the highest levels of the central bank.

The story of the FOMC leak underscores the lengths to which outsiders will go to penetrate the inner workings of the Fed, and how valuable access can be. The Fed has never disclosed the investigation or its findings.

Public pronouncements by Fed leaders routinely move markets, and officials must walk a delicate line when discussing information. They are allowed to air their own views but are forbidden from disclosing non-public information about committee decisions. Read more

Amazon’s frightening CIA partnership: Capitalism, corporations and our massive new surveillance state

Posted by eeos @ 12:54 on December 1, 2014

When Internet retailer and would-be 21st century overlord Amazon.com kicked WikiLeaks off its servers back in 2010, the decision was not precipitated by men in black suits knocking on the door of one of Jeff Bezos’ mansions at 3 a.m., nor were any company executives awoken by calls from gruff strangers suggesting they possessed certain information that certain individuals lying next to them asking “who is that?” would certainly like to know.

Corporations, like those who lead them, are amoral entities, legally bound to maximize quarterly profits. And rich people, oft-observed desiring to become richer, may often be fools, but when it comes to making money even the most foolish executive knows there’s more to be made serving the corporate state than giving a platform to those accused of undermining national security.
