This reminds me of Ron Reagan’s “Welfare to work/fare thing a long ago, because of some families on their third generation on welfare. It was time to get tough.

The difference these days is now we have three generations of many countries living off the wealth of other countries. China for one example living off the consumers of many countries.

In fact, imo, the USA has more welfare than ever because the USA buys from foreigners more than it sells, to many other nations. All the countries getting the short end of the stick are starting to notice it after the 2008 meltdown.

Its time to get tough, and chop them off. How else will they learn to be self reliant? And off artificial support.

Note: Ron Reagan who we all loved, was “behind the wheel” at the dawn of globalization, and could not do anything to stop the global socialism that took work away from the USA. Manufacturing business got bad and poverty actually GREW after he was elected.

REAGAN SEEKS WELFARE PLAN TO FREE POOR FROM GOVERNMENT DEPENDENCY

WASHINGTON, Feb. 4 1986 President Copper said tonight that his Administration would search for new ways to help poor countries ”escape the spider’s web of dependency” on US Government welfare programs.

”We must revise or replace programs enacted in the name of compassion that degrade the moral worth of work, encourage family breakups and drive entire communities into a bleak and heartless dependency,” Mr. Reagan told Congress. Reagan Uses Roosevelt Warning

”In the welfare culture,” he said, ”the breakdown of the family, the most basic support system, has reached crisis proportions – in female and child poverty, child abandonment, horrible crimes and deteriorating schools.”

Mr. Reagan quoted President Roosevelt, from his report on the State of the Union on Jan. 4, 1935, as warning that welfare was ”a narcotic, a subtle destroyer of the human spirit,” and the President declared, ”We must now escape the spider’s web of dependency.”

If you like your food with a cocktail of Glyphosate(Round Up) and DDT, I would encourage you to continue eating GMO foods. The use of GMO products is not any higher in production like they claimed it would be some 20 odd years ago( BTW I would be curious which studies of higher food production you are referring to and if by any chance there were written up by the same company that manufactures that crap which I am positive is one and the same) and the amount of pesticide to continue to grow it weed free is constantly increasing. Glyphosate also massively strips out all minerals in the soil by binding to it making the food you eat nutritionally useless Glyphosate is not the only clprit as independent tests show that the “inert” ingredients in Round UP are causing some of the problems. GMO foods are IMO  an attempt at population control and it has been responsible for the dawning of new medical conditions that weren’t around 20 some odd years ago. Gluten intolerance, leaky gut syndrome, Celiac disease and irritable bowel syndrome are all by products of GMO foods. Not too mention a boon to Nexium makers and similar pharma drugs. As for Europe and Russia not using GMO foods, 64 countries in the world have banned the use of GMO foods. It’s just the brain dead Americans who love their “Agent Orange” flavored foods. As for vaccinations, I have stopped getting them for the past 20 years and have never been healthier.  Your are welcome to continue using them too. They are certainly useful for population control IMO also.

The goobers lie about everything. Why shouldn’t they lie about GMO. Read up on the gmoseralini study in Europe just to get an overview of an independent tester not something from Monsanto or Bayer where virtually all studies are done in this country. The product maker tests his own stuff and says its fine. Only in America could you get away with such BS..

Watch the news GROW on this subject. Why? My opinion? My view? The past is in reverse. The Global Powers have started rebuilding or restoring the US economy between 2001 (120 dollar) and after 2008 (zero rates).

The environmental rules and regulations were designed to make US Industry move to countries with lax or no rules. Sharing wealth. Another purpose was to create various artificial jobs with enforcement, solar panels etc. To make the USA prosper, they NEED to get rid of or curtail, the regulations.

The “new news” will be…..”We succeeded in stopping global warming.”
Sounds dumb right? Don’t be surprised.

Kunstler=the shale oil revolution, kind of a national parlor trick to wow the multitudes for a long enough moment to convince them

Posted by Richard640 @ 19:53 on September 15, 2014

The Era of Bad Feeling

In this weird liminal time since the so-called Crash of 2008 leadership has depended on lies and subterfuges to prop up the illusion of resilience. One biggie is the shale oil revolution, kind of a national parlor trick to wow the multitudes for a long enough moment to convince them that their troubles with the national energy supply are over. Even people paid to think were hosed on this one. Wait until they discover that the shale oil producers have never made a buck producing shale oil, only on the sale of leases and real estate to “greater fools” and creaming off the froth of the complex junk financing deals behind their exertions. Expect that mirage to dissipate in the next 24 months, perhaps sooner if the price of oil keeps sinking toward the sub $90-a-barrel level, where there’s no economically rational reason to bother drilling and fracking.

The lies, frauds, and cons run between the axis of Wall Street and Washington had two fatal consequences with still-lagging effects. 1) They destroyed the capacity for markets to establish the real price of anything — rendering markets useless. 2). They disabled capital formation to the degree that we might not have the money to rebuild an economy to replace the “financialized” matrix of rackets that currently pretends to function. A lot of observers like myself have been waiting for the moment when the fog of pretense lifts and exposes all the broken machinery within. We may be so close now that you can smell it.

There are times when events are in charge, not personalities. The unseen forces that hold the affairs of nations and economies in equilibrium dissolve, particles fly out of the many centers, and things heat up toward criticality.

Glance in the rear-view mirror and say goodbye to the Era of Wishful Thinking. This was the time when the USA was inspired by its Master Wish: to be able to keep driving to Wal-Mart forever. Looked at closely, the contemporary idea of Utopia was always a shabby package. On one side, all the pointless driving. For most Americans it was nothing like the TV advertising fantasy of a lone luxury car plying a coastal highway in low, golden light. More like being stuck near the junction of I-55 and I-90 in Chicago at rush hour in July in an overheating Dodge Grand Caravan with three screaming ADD kids whose smart phone batteries just died — plus your fiercely over-filled bladder and no empty Snapple bottle to resort to.

On the other side, there’s the Wal-Mart part: the unbelievable cornucopia of insanely cheap plastic goodies, like, somewhere in the 1990s America became one giant loading dock for nearly free stuff. Wasn’t that fun? Now, everybody has got the full rig, from the flatscreen to the salad shooter, but we’re tired of seeing Kim Kardashian’s booty, and nobody really liked salad, even when you could shoot the stuff into a bowl. The thrill is gone, and so is the paycheck that was your ticket to the orgy. It’s especially gloomy over in the food department, where the boxes of Lucky Charms are suddenly half the weight and twice the price. And that was going to be the family dinner! Must be Nature’s way of telling you it’s time for a new tattoo.

Change is in the air, literally, as we wake this still-summer morning with the thermometer so low you wish the furnace was prepped and ready to run. Much is in the air, too, where the news of events near and far provoke swirls of transformation in the disposition of people, nations, and affairs. Who would have guessed a few years ago how nervous Scotland would make the whole Western world? The sharpies at the Pentagon, and the White House, and the CIA may be waiting with indigestion and palpitations for the next ISIS decapitation video, but maybe you have to wonder instead which of five thousand shopping malls across this land will be visited by black-flagged desperados armed with automatic rifles and RPG’s.

Finally, there are the people themselves of this sclerotic polity: too dumb and distracted to help themselves, full of inchoate grievance and resentment, tending ever deeper into darkness. Welcome to the season of the witch in the Era of Bad Feeling. Somewhere “out there” there is a light of virtue waiting for us, but we are a long way from finding our way to it.

GMO

Posted by aurum @ 19:11 on September 15, 2014

I am glad that there are folks that want non-GMO food products.  That makes a market with a premium for non-GMO food.  However, the scientific evidence so far has shown the risks of eating GMO to be miniscule.  Probably the same folks would not get vaccinated.  The risks there are also miniscule.  Yes they are not risk free – but the risk reward equation is heavily in favor of vaccination (for most people) and GMO (for most people).  Because of GMO bigger crops are able to be grown in countries that had minimal crops in the past.  I have seen numbers that show starvation has been reduced by millions of people each year.  You can argue about the number but to my mind since it is a big number regardless of which study is used it is worth the miniscule risk.

Europe won’t import GMO because they don’t want the competition to their expensive grain.  China and Russia and most other countries will import it as long as it is properly identified.  Better grains (more yield, drought resistance and herbicide resistance)  are created by generation after generation of selective breeding – why not take a shortcut and simply change the DNA?

This will be my only post on the issue.

re your….
“Why is the Fed so desperate to prop up the Dollar even as exports go into the Trash.”

The Fed is global. My guess is they wanted to give Europe’s economy a little spin, because they needed it, started failing, and the USA was doing ok enough to be sacrificed with a stronger dollar for a while.

I suspect more evidence will show up that the US economy is slowing, and the Fed with reverse or rotate the trend, lower dollar.

I always enjoy reading comments such as this one from an un-named forum. It proves I’m not the dumbest donkey in the paddock.

Gold has a yield, above inflation, of 0. The price is really driven by speculation more than real economics.
My feeling is that:
if you want to hold gold as a currency hedge, then instead diversify currencies to USD, CHF, JPY use them to hold something that has a non-zero yield; and
if you are worried about the coming apocalypse, then buy AK47s to bury in your back garden. After the apocalypse they can be leveraged into whatever you need.

They are in denial and cloud the minds and common sense of others who see the”  writing  on the wall.” Then instead of admitting they were wrong they turn it into a conspiracy against them and that it was manipulated. Well if they believe there is manipulation and won’t get into that argument why did they not see it in the TA because it’s usually there somewhere. Usually but ignored. Denial has it’s place but the stock market isn’t one if them. You can lay out a road map for a destination but if you don’t count in obstacles along the way or unforeseen events your gonna get your timing wrong. That can happen to anyone if those events are big enough. Besides I have another inclination. Say if your playing football do you tell your opponents what your next game plan is going to be or do you lay it out in front of them. BoPo on the other hand I can’t even believe Sinclair takes him seriously.

You might be right. They say the walls have ears. If that don’t work I can ask the fly on the wall. What I fear is after it gets talked down the toilet next will come it’s over. Even in India people are selling their gold to buy stocks so another reason for the decline. Well we all know what happens after that. Hope they don’t sell too much for their sakes.

is sitting on 50 Billion waiting for the Sept Slide  to get moving ,I think I can be patient with my last 50 bucks.

If Pres Putin can be patient waiting for the Russian Winter to get going before he tells the US to stuff their sanctions.and tells Europe to stop sanctions or go cold.

If Putin wants to he can change the Political Landscape all over Europe to be more friendly as the Temperature drops.Meanwhile ….The Fed is getting desperate telling Banks they cannot continue to Hold Municipal Bonds as a required quality asset in their portfolio leaving the Fed free to loot the Local Pension Funds as municipalitys default which is what they really want. The Fed is becoming the Bankruptsy liquidator for the US as it grabs local assets Pension Funds from the States in order to stave off its own Bankruptsy. Why is the Fed so desperate to prop up the Dollar even as exports go into the Trash. China dosent want US GMO CORN,SOYBEANS  .Neither does Europe.Meantine record crops of un exportable Corn &Soybeans are piling up coupled with a High Dollar …WE are going to see crops Dumped in the Ocean  just like Depression days when the Dumped MILK down the Sewers as People went hungry and waited in Gubberment Soup lines. This is what happinns when everything becomes Federalized …It all becomes a tool to control people by POwer greedy Politicians.

The Fed wants to rule the World. Putin is becomming a problem. The money Lenders ,the Fed wants everyone in Debt ,everyone Hungry and dependent on them.

Before September is done we will see the Path to the Future !

As you know I follow Armstrong’s posts and read Larry’s here and there. From that I see Larry is reading Armstrong and may have even met him. His testing or even going below 1000 next year is something Armstrong said. The thing that confuses me is if he is calling a possible bottom but thinks globally mind you  in 2015 early. His call for correction late 2015 to early 2016 I asked him which he said both. Guessing from bits and pieces after PMs will take off . I’m mentioning this confusing statement because “if  here anyways” again he thinks globally” a bottom forms people might go all in and get killed in the correction since he said both. Whether it’s a slow move or fast don’t know. But guessing well not saying or will start hearing it all over and so will tptb. Anyways be careful around those time zones.

the Gov is now like a bad marriage gone wrong where the other is domestically violent and dysfunctional and making it increasingly harder to leave and increasingly violent in a effort to hold into power. Brown here going as far as openly inviting illegals who knows maybe showing them how to illegally vote too. And like a person gone waco is at the point now where war could be possible people will be thinking about leaving their homes if necessary. As long as we have these co dependent’s voting for their own interest some of which should already be funded anyways don’t seem to realize that they are liars they can’t fund the things they should and everyone else at the same time. You think they would have figured that out by now.
