Au revoir, France ……………………………………………… 1 in 6!

Posted by ipso facto @ 10:40 on August 27, 2014

If you ever doubted the direction France is headed, you need doubt no more.

The headline reads: “One in six French people say they support ISIS”

Holy halal cow! That’s a lot of people (and I use that term loosely).

So much for the narrative of the “moderate Muslim.” Apparently, there are violent Muslims who seek world domination. And there are a whole lot of other Muslims who don’t behave in an overtly violent way (yet), but who support those who do.

Per the article linked above:

…the big, scary, surprising, number here is France: 16 percent of those surveyed say they support ISIS. That’s an awful lot. And that number gets even larger as the demographics get younger….

This is alarming, in part because a growing number of Europeans, often from predominantly Muslim immigrant communities, are not just expressing their support for ISIS in polls: they are traveling to Syria and Iraq to join up. The ISIS fighter who killed American journalist James Foley on video last week spoke with a strong London accent. European governments are rightly worried about the implications of this for their own national security

Paris (AFP) – IMF chief Christine Lagarde, one of the world’s most powerful women, announced Wednesday she had been charged with “negligence” over a multi-million-euro graft case relating to her time as French finance minister.

The shock announcement came a day after she was grilled for more than 15 hours by a special court in Paris that probes ministerial misconduct, the fourth time she has been questioned in a case that has long weighed upon her position as managing director of the International Monetary Fund.

“The investigating commission of the court of justice of the French Republic has decided to place me under formal investigation,” she said in exclusive comments to AFP.

Regarding Putins background: from Wiki..:

Some researchers speculate that Putin´s ancestry might be linked to Putyanin clan, “one of the oldest clans in the Russian history” with links to all the royal families of Europe.[24]

Putin with his mother, Maria Ivanovna, in July 1958

On 1 September 1960, he started at School No. 193 at Baskov Lane, just across from his house. By fifth grade he was one of a few in a class of more than 45 pupils who was not yet a member of the Pioneers, largely because of his rowdy behavior. In sixth grade he started taking sport seriously in the form of sambo and then judo. In his youth, Putin was eager to emulate the intelligence officer characters played on the Soviet screen by actors such as Vyacheslav Tikhonov and Georgiy Zhzhonov.[25]

Putin graduated from the International Law branch of the Law Department of the Leningrad State University in 1975, writing his final thesis on international law.[26] His thesis was titled “The Most Favored Nation Trading Principle in International Law”.[27] While at university he had to join the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, and remained a member until the party was dissolved in December 1991.[28] Also at the University he met Anatoly Sobchak who later played an important role in Putin’s career. Anatoly Sobchak was at the time an Assistant Professor and lectured Putin’s class on Business Law (khozyaystvennoye pravo).[29]

Poroshenko: Ceasefire regime must be bilateral in character;
Putin: Russia cannot talk about any ceasefire conditions whatsoever
Yesterday’s meeting between the Russian and Ukrainian Presidents at an EU/Eurasian Customs Union meeting broke up without agreement. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said following the meeting that “A roadmap will be prepared in order to achieve, as soon as possible, a ceasefire regime which absolutely must be bilateral in character.” However, Russian President Vladimir Putin argued that the fighting in Eastern Ukraine is an internal and non-bilateral issue saying that “We, Russia, cannot talk about any ceasefire conditions whatsoever… We can only facilitate the creation of an environment of trust in the course of this possible and much needed, in my opinion, negotiation process.”

……………………..

“you can not talk to me, talk to the people that you call terrorists”.

“And when you do that… you have elevated them to your own level…. have a nice day!”

“Though I´m all around you (I know that you know, but you can not use it properly to advance your agenda, since I (Russia) do not exist as an enemy).

” Your enemy is in eastern Ukraine… we are Russia, sitting on the balcony.”

“And if you still persist in wanting us to be forced in to this mess… we would like to have a say or two, about the setting of things, before we agree to talk. That is: Talk to them… and lose, or talk to us… and lose!”

“Oh by the way… you have one more option… do not talk at all… and lose”.

And plenty of rumors this morning that Burger King is moving it’s headquarters to Canada. Guess they decided to keep more of their profits instead of paying it out to the Gubberment.  Heard something the other day that the US has the highest corporate taxes in the world. Go Canada !!

mid term djiaMost charts I follow have very topping action Stochastics are posed to turn down on almost all.the only real signal down was from Adv/deline ratio 1 day ago ,then popped up ….very dangerous market .Gold & Silver seem to have found a bottom 50% from previous moves ,but have not got “BUY” signals yet .appears to be very close, but I don’t trust it ! SLW seems to be 50% from past range, but it looks like a false rally to me ! Maybe Im getting paranoid !Im back in cash from recent trades .I got in shipping for a profitable trade, but it now looks like its over! I got into smith& wesson on a buy signal wich went nowhere close dit at a $50.00 profit .My thinking was No ammunation sales for about a year avaible at retail stores .Now that prices have doubled stores this week have truckloads especially at Walmart.Manufactures must have sold plenty to retailers at double prices ,but the Stock gave a buy signal, then went no where .Maybe it’ll show up on next quarter but with a seasonal chart like posted ,Im not hanging around.Bought a stock called  veolia ve on a strong buy signal..made some profit ,but some weird tardes occuring ..looks like Painting the TAPE ,so I bailed with a profit, maybe too soon but ditto for the Seasonal chart .I,m usually very patient waiting for trends to develop, but not here! I run like a jack rabbit at the first sign down…

What really makes me nervous is the Mafia chief money manager Michael F ..says he dosent trust Wall st with his money after doing some business with them .He,s only in Gold bullion from here !   Holy cow ! it scares him who managed billions per month !  He’s the only mafia chief still alive of 50 ,47 are dead 2 in jail ,that leaves him and he thinks theres a contract out on him .I doubt it ,cause he’s too good at money making to do away with ! Financial genius.

If Michael is scared of this market maybe I should be too !

Richard640 @ 18:14 Nothing New In That Article…

Posted by Farmboy @ 22:40 on August 26, 2014

Must have read hundreds of similar articles over the past ten years. Articles written by folks much smarter than I. Those with the ‘know’ and experience.  And I have scratched this old bald head many a time wondering why people still keep trusting the folks on Wall St to look after their ‘best interest’ ? When the only interest is how to fleece as much from the common folk as they can. Kinda sounds like a Gubberment don’t it?

” Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus”. Why anyone believes in the ‘markets’, trust in the market, is a stretch of my imagination no doubt. But oh how the stories abound. Someone made millions here. Buffet made billions there. But for the most part, the majority wont come near to doing that in the markets. Reminds me of the old joke about how to make a million dollars in the wine business? Start with two million. Although I do know a man who has his own vineyard and winery and doing quite well these days up in the Carolina’s no less. Guess there are exceptions to every rule. But on average, whatever that might be. I once was told to put one foot in a bucket of ice water, and the other foot in a campfire, and I too could experience, average. Just never sounded like anything I wanted to try or be.

No, I am pretty sure, at least for self, that the mystery of the markets, and even knowing they are manipulated is the story as old as mankind. Like the moth attracted to the flame.  folks are gonna seek comfort and warmth from the idea of ‘saving’ money in the markets. After all, it worked for Grandpappy all those years. Have one financial Guru on the radio that still believes the bewt thing to do with your extra dollars is to put them into the markets. Now I just aint that smart. God Bless those who can read the charts, listen to CNBC, and make a fortune. I aint one of them. Admire them, but recognize it aint for me. I am more the old fashioned type and willing to open an oil change store,  a butcher shop, or a coffee shop. Something that I can trade a tangible thing for a few greenbacks. But I must honestly admit, there is still something that draws me to the ‘easy’ money of doing nothing. Must be that lazy streak in me.

And then there is how will I spend (invet) the hours of my day? Guess I can chase the Almighty dollar, and the fame an fortune it may bring. But as I grow older, I find what gives me the greatest pleasure, is volunteering down at the Food Pantry on Saturdays, carrying out groceries to those that the markets have failed.  Those that didn’t have the insider information, or Direct Feeds. Figure I just get to pass through this thing called Life but once. And there is something to be said about, “It was not just about me.”  Lord knows I hope to be rich someday. And I would like to think I would help others someday. But someday rolls around every Saturday morning around these parts. And  I get to carry some groceries for a few folks that don’t have any. Kinda cracks me up to take a few bags of food and load them into a Jaguar, or Cadillac Escalade. But I aint here to judge folks, its above my ‘pay grade’. Just happy to be of help to those that say they are in need. And let me tell you, the numbers of those in need keep growing every week. Maybe if they listened to CNBC they would be better off?

Well, that is a few of my thoughts on the markets. They have about as much ‘transparency’ and honesty as the current administration on 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. But yet, I still flock to the flame like a moth. Hope is eternal, and surely, those folks on Fall St know better than I.  But I cant help but wonder, what if those folks had held some of their wealth in their own hands ? Would I need to carry their groceries for the week out to their car? Life, it is still all a mystery to me.

Several years ago my daughter announced she was going to get a tattoo on her back. I said to be sure and get a butterfly “tramp stamp”. I even offered to pay. She looked at me like I was speaking a mixture of Swahilli and Portugese. I said it would even change with age. Now she was really confused. I said, ” the butterfly on the back will morph into the buzzard in the crack!”

She is now in her late thirties with a family and no tattoos!
