Senior Citi Banker Found Dead In Bathtub With Slashed Throat

The dust has barely settled on the latest high profile banker suicide in which Deutsche Bank’s associate general counsel, and former SEC regulator, Charlie Gambino was found dead, having hung himself by the neck from a stairway banister, and here comes the latest sad entrant in the dead banker chronicles of 2014 when earlier today, the Post reports, a Citigroup banker was found dead with his throat slashed in the bathtub “of his swanky downtown apartment, authorities said Wednesday.”

More:

Shawn D. Miller, Citigroup’s managing director of environmental and social risk management, was discovered around 3 p.m. Tuesday by a doorman in the Greenwich Street building, law enforcement sources said. “We are deeply saddened by this news and our thoughts are with Shawn’s family at this time,” said a statement sent out by Citigroup.

Unlike previous “clearcut” suicides, this time there may have been foul play: the Post adds that “there was no knife recovered at the scene, leading officials to suspect the death was not a suicide, and they were trying to determine who had access to his apartment.”

Miller did well: “one-bedroom apartments at the building are listed at more than $1 million.”

An online profile under the man’s name calls him a “pioneer in sustainable finance” and a specialist in emerging markets at the International Finance Corp., part of the World Bank. Several former colleagues told The Post that Miller was well-liked.

It was unclear why the doorman checked his apartment.

So everything else must go down. No alternative bright spots allowed.

This is a wild day

This kind of action makes me wonder if something is breaking down.

The boyz normally would have crushed and kept crushing yet silver is still flat.

Almost as if we’re trading with the SM all of a sudden?

ipso facto @ 13:38 re Iron ore price enters freefall

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 14:15 on November 19, 2014

Just like Oil, Gold, etc, what ever was too high a few years ago, got over produced, and it leads to surpluses, then falling prices.

Heating oil last year was REAL high. Then over produced. Today its real cheap. When things get too cheap, like Gold Oil Iron ore etc, production slows on the way down resulting is shortages.

Everything was high around 2011-2012. Mathematically futures emotionally dollar lower highs, not from physical demand higher.

Real estate too. Emotion drove demand, not need. Many bought extra houses they did not need, other than to flip. A million new flippers? A million extraneous houses built. Demand drove up prices, and builders built too much creating surplus, then weakness.

Lake Shore aiming to produce $15m to fund exploration

19th November 2014 By: Creamer Media Reporter

JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Canada-based gold producer Lake Shore Gold on Wednesday announced that it expected to generate gross proceeds of about $15-million through a brokered private placement of 12.9-million flow-through common shares to be offered on a bought deal basis at $1.17 apiece.

The funds raised from the issuance of the flow-through shares would be used for general exploration expenditures, including investments to follow up on recent encouraging drill results at the company’s 144 Gap zone.

This new zone of gold mineralisation identified west of Timmins, Ontario, had to date established minimum dimensions of 100 m along strike and 250 m down dip. The expenditures to be funded from the flow-through shares would constitute Canadian exploration expenditures as defined in the Income Tax Act.

Lake Shore noted that the flow-through shares issued with respect to this equity offering would be subject to a four-month hold period in accordance with applicable Canadian securities laws. The closing of the equity offering was expected to occur on or about December 3, 2014, and was subject to receipt of all necessary regulatory approvals, including that of the TSX

Iron ore price enters freefall

After a 4% slide in the iron ore price on Tuesday, another selloff on Wednesday brought losses for the week to over 7% as negative sentiment swamps the market for the steelmaking raw material.

The CFR 62% Fe 2% Al benchmark import price at the port of Qingdao tracked by The SteelIndex dropped 2.7% on to $71.20 a tonne on Tuesday, down $5.50 in just two sessions.

Prices at the port of Tianjin dropped nearly 3%, staying just above $70 a tonne. The price of iron ore is now down 47% in 2014.

The steelmaking raw material last traded at these levels in June 2009 when annual benchmark pricing between the Big 3 producers – Vale, BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto – and Chinese and Japanese mills were still the industry norm.

Today’s gap down has been blamed on the latest Chinese property market data showing price declines extending for a sixth month in a row and a fall in the domestic steel price to record lows of $400 a tonne.

Commodities Are Crumbling – Gold Fixing, Swiss Gold Poll, Or Another Fed Minutes Leak?

Tyler Durden’s pictureSubmitted by Tyler Durden on 11/19/2014 10:50 -0500

Because nothing says unrigged like a collapse across the commodity complex (gold, silver, copper, and crude) as London’s Gold Fixing Company auction takes place… Or did the Fed leak its minutes like it did in 2013? It appears the real reason is the early release of Swiss Gold Referendum poll data that shows a drop from 44% “Yes” to 38% “Yes”.

If someone wanted to spread Ebola in the US I don’t think it would be very difficult. They are doing a poor job if that’s the aim.

What do you think Obama’s motive has been for the last 6 years in the destruction of the US Constitution?? Whatever the reason will become evident. The only thing that comes to mind is that the Ebola virus cannot survive airborn except under very cold conditions. If we see a sudden increase in this lab created Ebola across in the US we may have the answer.  At the very least I would say to create hardship to the most people in the US and Canada possible.    Silverngold

Chinese naval base to be established on Namibia’s Walvis Bay

DISCUSSIONS are under way at the ‘highest levels’ regarding plans by the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Navy to build a base at Walvis Bay in the next 10 years.

According to reports in the Chinese media, Walvis Bay will be one of 18 naval bases that will be established in various regions: Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Mynanmar in the northern Indian Ocean; Djibouti, Yemen, Oman, Kenya, Tanzania and Mozambique in the western Indian Ocean; and Seychelles and Madagascar in the central South Indian Ocean.

“These three strategic lines will further enhance China’s effectiveness in taking responsibility for maintaining the safety of international maritime routes thereby maintaining regional and world stability,” the media reports said.

Other naval bases are: Chongjin Port (North Korea), Moresby Port (Papua New Guinea), Sihanoukville Port (Cambodia), Koh Lanta Port (Thailand) Sittwe Port (Myanmar), Dhaka Port (Bangladesh), Gwadar Port (Pakistan), Hambantota Port (Sri Lanka), Maldives, Seychelles, Djibouti Port (Djibouti),

If you think it’s a freak of nature this is happening, take a look at the HAARP Longwave Frequency map. This cold is being induced to cause the most harm to the most people in the US. A few days ago this map showed the ENTIRE US under the red, now it has moved slightly east. I’ve never seen such a broad hit directed at the US. Normally they just select a region and hit it, so this “attack” is unprecedented!!
