Loading ...the gila, a big river? for the west, yes. it’s one of the major tributaries of the colorado, which it joins near yuma. it would be even bigger if it weren’t tapped for water to irrigate much of the agriculture in southern arizona, and municipal water for the cities of phoenix and yuma. the pic with the coffee making, however, was taken near the headwaters in the gila wilderness, where it’s just a mountain stream. fish? you betcha! it’s popular among new mexico trout fishermen. this year it benefits from a relatively wet summer.
