i just got back from a camping trip to new mexico – also a little of az, ut, and co. my favorite gold panning stream in utah (crescent creek) now has staked claims all along it. boo! lots of adventure – dodging flash floods, soaking in hot springs, and worrying about engine trouble in the middle of nowhere (gila wilderness). all is well, and i found out how little it takes for my van to display a “service engine soon” light. evidently all it takes is to have an ill-fitting gas cap. easy and cheap to fix, but very unsettling when you’re fifty miles of very twisty, narrow mountain road from the nearest o’reilley’s.
