This Sounds Like Another Provocative Act To Us

During World War II, Japan built a chemical weapons plant in northeastern China, where Japanese scientists allegedly conducted inhuman experiments on Chinese citizens in a search for biological and chemical agents to use in warfare.
China is excavating the plant and plans to begin allowing visits to the facility next year around the 70th anniversary of “victory in the anti-Japanese war.”
The lab operated in secret between 1935 and 1945, when it was destroyed by the Japanese as Soviet forces approached.
According to Xinhua News Agency, the laboratory was responsible for the deaths of more than 10,000 people, mostly noncombatants and captured military personnel from China, the Soviet Union, the Korean Peninsula and Mongolia.
This sounds to us like another little poke at Japan, just as tensions between the two countries are escalating over the ownership of the Senkaku Islands and the airspace around them.
It remains to be seen what kind of retaliation Japan will undertake, although we feel sure there will be some form of retaliation.
Let’s just hope the American government has enough sense to stay out of this one.

Well maybe we can swap a few degrees between us. Were having a killer heat wave here. What’s a joke with some of these builders is they put up these expensive track style houses as inexpensive as they could for maximum profit and their air conditioners cannot handle this heat and it’s 80 F inside these places and that’s with additional cooking systems to offset the poor performance. They have all these regulators for building but nobody notices. Somebody who put his office below his conditioner got a bad fungal lung infection. Told him to check the walls and leaks in his air conditioner. California and their over building without lack of though is such a joke.

We Thought Snipers Were Threat Enough

As if snipers shooting up transformers were not a big enough threat to the power grid, now we learn that there’s a possibility of a hacker attack against U.S. and European energy companies that could disrupt power, and that the group involved is “affiliated with Russia.”
Department of Homeland Security officials have posted several alerts to companies operating “industrial control systems” that run critical commercial services during the last few days, and says it is analyzing “malware and artifacts associated with an industrial control system focused malware campaign.”
The malware is targeting machines “running outdated versions of a widely used specification for connectivity called Open Platform Communications, or OPC, technology.”
Apparently the malware wood cause multiple “common OPC platforms to intermittently crash. This could cause a denial-of-service effect or outage of applications reliant on OPC communications.”
The hacker group, calling itself Energetic Bear and Dragonfly, has broken into three control system vendors and “dropped the malware into legitimate software updates that its energy customers download.
Symantec, a computer security company, said the groups prey on “government and research targets, plus companies that operate power grids, electricity generation and petroleum pipelines, as well as industrial equipment providers.” Countries victimized include the U.S., Spain, Italy, France, and Germany.
The malware does not appear to affect “devices using newer versions of Open Platform Communications,” but you know how companies are . . . they never upgrade their software until they are forced to, because it causes immense upheaval in the ranks and constitutes a big expense.

Russia is responding by raising energy costs to Europe and throwing out all US auditing and financial companies in the country. The deputies of the Duma have already brought a law on the way to be voted on. Among the affected companies, Deloitte, KPMG, Ernst & Young LLP, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Boston Consulting Group Inc. and McKinsey & Co.

The Obama Administration is perhaps the most inept regime I have ever seen. I disagreed with Bush the Cheney puppet, but these people are vicious and evil-minded both against Russia and domestically. They should have sat down behind the curtain with Putin, even though he is an old world empire dreamer. These sanctions are stupid. Will not and cannot actually cause Putin to reverse his thinking but only turn more aggressive. He cannot back down without losing face. The objective is to hurt the Russian people so that they turn against Putin. And then what? This is not a very good situation in the least. Prepare for World War III. Ironically, the Democrats are the one who start them every time.
If anyone thinks for a second I am being hard on Obama and politicians in general, just read the Cycles of War. The Germans even took advertisements in the NY newspapers telling people not to sail on the RMS Lusitania because the US was using passenger ships to send arms to Britain illegally using civilian ships to protect arms shipments. Oh lets see. They accused Saddam Hussein of that as well. I guess it takes one to accuse one.

Sorry, politicians lied about the motives to start every single war. The lies are all documented and laid out in that report. Even Vietnam – I give the direct quote of LBJ saying the Vietnamese never fired on America, for all he knew, the US was shooting at whales. More than 50,000 Americans died for those lies. There should not be career politicians for economic sake or for the sake of society. We will always be just the expendable great unwashed.

I have held my piece but I guess now is a good time to say whats on my mind.  I met AuDept down in Belize when the Gold Tent was just a gleam in our eyes, and we all still wore the fresh stripes from the V Bopster. The Tent, as I understood it, would be a home for us all to come together, share information, ideas, and have some fun along the way. It was the springboard for a lot of us having the opportunity to actually meet in person and for a lot of years it worked out even better than most expected. AuDept was a good guy and lord knows how many hours he has spent since he pretty much single handedly erected the technical poles that made up The Tent.  No one held a gun to his head and I give credit for his long suffering and enduring nights of keeping The Tent up and running. If he feels it is time for him to move on in a different direction I say God Speed. While in Belize, AuDept set up my Farmboy account and typed in my password logging me into the system. I even remember a picture he once posted early on of his young girls manning the ‘Control Center’ in their home. I wish him and his family the best.

I met Mr and Mrs Fullgoldcrown in the Gerogia Mountains and think Fully is also a hard working and for many years a dedicated person and founder of The Tent. I do not think Fully is to be disparaged at this point. What appears to have happened in my view is he tried to help his friend Rambus get a web site up and running. I think even he and AuDept were surprised that it took off and went so well according to his own admission. Going back some years, I remember that The Tent was offered some substantial amount of money by I think it was Google. They offered us some heavy duty six figures if we would allow them to advertise on the Tent. The ‘Board of Directors’ rejected this offer and from what I was told, as a measure to make sure we would not be indebted to any sponsor or advertiser, and thus keep the Tent open and free to all speech and ideas. I think that was a good choice. So there our ideals and goals were put to the test. We held firm, and with the Tent a thons were able to maintain the integrity and FREEDOM from which our founding days was not for sale at any price.

So here we are in modern times. I think Fully and AuDept were surprised at the amount of money the Rambus site was generating. Somewhat in secret between the three of them as I understand it. The wrong, if there is a wrong, was in not presenting it to the ‘Board’ when they first started the experiment. Like the Google offer, I am sure they would have met some very strong resistance to the idea of a ‘for profit’ site. So I think the three of them decided to keep things under wrap. It wasn’t until the accidental copy of an Email to Wanka that they were found out. No doubt no small embarrassment. And it appears from what I have read that when confronted with the issue that AuDept was quite rude when questioned about the entire matter having been caught with his hand in the proverbial cookie jar.

I am disappointed, and greatly so, by the failure to fess up to all of this by the three. I do give credit to Fullgoldcrown for at least coming public, even though he seems to want to try and defend his actions more than admit any wrong. Rambus and AuDept have to my knowledge been silent and so be it. Their silence speaking volumes in and of itself.

I think what we have here now, is a Win/Win situation even if at first conceived in not so clear judgement, and later deceit. Rambus, Fully, and AuDept are free to promote their New Version of the Tent and provide paid subscribers with something a little extra. We who value the openness and Freedom of the Oasis are mostly intact and well on our next leg of this adventure unfettered, and bowing to no one, as has always been the case. They will have their TA site, and we will have our TA and discussions of all topics site. To each their own.

I wish it would have been handled differently, but it is what it is. The sooner we put behind us the name calling, the hurt feelings, the lack of poor judgement, the better off we will be. It does not make anyone a bad person, just a show of perhaps bad judgement, lack of discernment, and a lack of honesty due each of us. I am disappointed in the actions of a few, but do not feel like casting stones. It worked out, will continue to work out, for the best. We have survived, and are stronger, more wiser, for the experience.

Those are my thoughts and feelings on the situation, and they are solely mine. Others may have different issues and that is not my business. I wish all success in their respective endeavors and may it be a learning experience for us all.

And I want to give a shout of Thanks to Wanka, Floridagold, and Buygold for quickly grabbing the bull by the horns when faced with losing our ‘home’.  Take a bow fellas. You done good.

Best, Farmboy
