I discovered my lack of sleep was me inadvertently stopping one of my meds when I got the food poisoning last Tuesday. I’ve had three back surgeries in the last 4 years, I’m in pain pretty much all the time. So, when they did the pain management, they generally prescribe an anti-depressant as part of the program. They try to protect your mood because in theory pain tends to wear on your psyche. It does, but in conjunction with percocet and morphine is their best effort to help keep your mind out of pain. Goldie will confirm. They did this, to delay surgery for at least 5 years and then of course, after the surgery because the first major surgery failed, and they destablized the two vertibrae above, and left a piece of disc kind of hanging in the netherlands. I have been off the Percocet and morphine for some time now.
I discovered this Friday, and also discovered that I liked not being on it because it allowed my body to produce a major amount of dopamine that I sorely needed. My brain has been on absolute fire for the last 5 days – I didn’t need or WANT sleep to be honest. I’ll never take that crap in any form again.
While I thought I was sick, I was actually being healed.
My spirit is alive again. The fog lifted, and I discovered that while I’ve been hiding under my bed thinking all was lost, God had been working and all had never been lost, somewhere back in 2000 had me buy a bunch of baseball cards with my son, at some point we started to buy the cards I described. I stored them properly, and forgot about them.
I also discovered some other things that may dwarf the baseball cards.
