Manhattan DA to stop seeking prison sentences in slew of criminal cases

Who needs soft-on-crime judges when the district attorney doesn’t even want to lock up the bad guys?

Manhattan’s new DA has ordered his prosecutors to stop seeking prison sentences for hordes of criminals and to downgrade felony charges in cases including armed robberies and drug dealing, according to a set of progressive policies made public Tuesday.

In his first memo to staff on Monday, Alvin Bragg said his office “will not seek a carceral sentence” except with homicides and a handful of other cases, including domestic violence felonies, some sex crimes and public corruption.

On the nuclear front France is taking care of business but did you see what Germany is doing? They have a power shortage which is going to be worse in the years to come and they are shutting down their remaining nuclear power plants. Crazy!

Already this year some industries have shut down on account of expensive power there.

I wouldn’t have thought gold would maintain or be up a little with rates rising.

I’m with you on Nat Gas as being cleaner than coal but we still need coal to fire some of these power plants. I’m in the Nuclear business and you’d be stunned to see the new technology and size of nuclear devices that will be coming in line by say 2030 at the latest.

Nuclear will end up being the safest and most enduring form of electricity in the years to come. I see that France is waking up and not shuttering all of its nuclear power.
