no, i’m saying they’re doing it because they think/know they can get away with it. …and they probably can. the chinese are anything but stupid, and they make their plans on a much longer time scale than the west does. our policies are contingent on what is best for the next election. theirs are contingent on what’s best for them over the next few centuries.
…should do it? i think that every time i hear the subjunctive (“should”) it’s god reminding me i’m not dealing with the real world. in the real world, they are doing it.
