The algos and quants and AI…..all have taken emotion and decision making out of the markets.
This is a gift to the speculator who still thinks for himself ( if there are any left) and can judge geo political events and their impacts.
If and when major events happen, the algo, quant, AI driven funds will all be acting in concert, and late. IMO

Let’s play ‘Professional Economist’ to explain it all.
We’ll use employed economists to think up new fake reasons, oops, I mean theories, to justify all manner of Everyday Events, ranging from ‘No War Today’ up to central bank intervention. These fake theories will, of course, be called ‘Economics’.
They will spin a wheel that has lots of excuses on it, like Wheel of Fortune. One stop says ‘Search for Inflation’. Another says ‘Trickle Down’. Another says ‘Do you want Savings or Jobs’. Another says ‘Negative Interest Rates are Just a Number’. Another says “Bonus Spin – Ceteris Paribis’. Another says ‘Bullard Goes To CNBC’. Another says ‘Imply Equities To Be Purchased Using QE’. Another says ‘MMT Needs A Study Group’. Another says ‘Preventative Decrease In Main Rate’. Another says ‘The Benefit Outweighs The Costs’. Another says ‘Interest Is a Cost, It’s Never Income.’ Another says ‘Interest Income Is Irrelevant.’
The objective is to spin a few times and arrange the selected phrases into sentences that resemble English. Then FOMC member give speeches in support, only disagreeing on the extreme fringes, basically debating how to spell simple words. The result is Economic Policy from the Central Banks.
