“Shares are up ”  depends on how much you discount the problems …It could be promoting stock is easier than running a mine  !

I dont know ,Im not an insider ! I just dont like surprises of a negative sort ,I may return after the next qtr  depending on what I see ! this wasent the FIRST time this happened ! Im getting the feeling the Marketing dept is better than the Operations dept…!

As I read between the lines of thier Report ..it sounds like their income is going to zero while the payroll stays the same  and they intend to “high Grade the mine” so when sales do resume they can make up for lost revenue !  I dont know what to make of the closure prep statement ! “transition toward a program of reclamation and remediation, all of which are in accordance with best closure practices. ”   Thats weird !  What the Hell does that mean ?  Im out until that clarifies …..

Mining is very much like Manufacturing

Posted by Ororeef @ 12:11 on December 13, 2016

someone needs to be constantly LOOKING for problems ,not waiting for them to happen ,heading them off ,preventing them on an on going basis .I ran full out high speed sewing room operations with machines that sew 7000 stitches a minute and had trimming knives that always needed maintenance .If you didnt do it ,you were guaranteed to have accidents …dull trimming knives lead to broken machine parts and injured fingers guaranteed ,and work flow stoppages that cost hundreds of dollars a day in a small factory !

spare parts always kept on hand, maintenance on an on going basis ,never letting a machine run out of oil ..replacing motor bearings before they caused a fire by electrical short and DUST fires. (There is a way to tell when a sealed  motor bearing is going bad).

We ran everything full speed 14 hours a day 6 days a week ..produced 36,000 saleable garments a WEEK ..no defects !

You need to know what problems are endemic to the process when you run machines hard and be PREPARED to head off problems BEFore they happen .Keep spare parts for those that are that the cutting edge   ,never fail to do the maintenance ,every day oil every machine every day .ALL that in addition to the People problems of managing 150 women !

Mining is almost identical …theres always something bad about to happen so the manager better be looking for it before it happens ! ITS built in   !

Great Panther seems to have a Great Cheerleading ,Promotional DEPartment and manages to PUMP the Stock Price up in the FACE of having the next qtr run at a (LOSS in my opinion…)…I dont like Operational Surprises  ! I would roll somebodies Head…

Operations should NEVER run like a BOOM & BUST marketing Department !….Selling STock is for Marketing …Cheerleading .

Operations should be a very DULL enterprise run by engineers without surprises making money day in & day out ! efficency should be their job …not Marketing ! ….. I suspect the Operations Manager needs to get his ass out of the Home office  and out to the MINE ..

Great Panther Temporarily Halts Processing at its Topia Mine to Facilitate Transition to New Tailings Facility

December 01, 2016

TSX: GPR
NYSE MKT: GPL

VANCOUVER, Dec. 1, 2016 /CNW/ – GREAT PANTHER SILVER LIMITED (TSX: GPR; NYSE MKT: GPL) (“Great Panther”; the “Company”) announces that, further to a review of its Topia Mine operations in Durango, the Company has decided to suspend the operation of the processing facility for approximately three months, effective today, to facilitate plant upgrades and a transition to a new tailings storage facility (“TSF”) currently under construction.  Mine operations will continue through the plant shutdown and all ore will be stockpiled and processed in 2017.

“While we are continuing with the geotechnical evaluations and assessments of the remaining capacity at the existing tailings facility, we have made the decision to suspend processing at Topia”, stated Robert Archer, President & CEO.  “This will provide the opportunity to safely engage in improvements at the processing plant concurrently with the construction of the new TSF while continuing with mine and resource development.  During the period of the shutdown we will maintain full employment at Topia as mining operations will continue and plant personnel will be employed in the upgrade and maintenance programs, training and other activities.”

The new TSF entails a change from wet deposition to dry stack, which best aligns with environmentally sound practices in the industry today.  The project includes the installation of a thickener and filter presses, upgrades to the crushing plant, flotation circuits and ball mills some of which are already in progress.  As preparation and permitting of the Phase II TSF continues, the efforts at the existing TSF will shift to dewatering to improve stability, and to transition toward a program of reclamation and remediation, all of which are in accordance with best closure practices.  Simultaneously, a program of ore control optimization is being implemented throughout the mine to increase grades with the objectives of reducing unit costs and increasing metal production.

Accounting for the plant shutdown, the Company expects production for 2016 to come in just over 3.9 million silver equivalent ounces (“Ag eq oz”), slightly below its guidance of 4.0 – 4.2 million Ag eq oz.  The Company is reaffirming its expectation to achieve the lower end of its guidance ranges for cash cost and all-in sustaining cost of $4.00 – 5.00 per payable silver ounce, and $12.00 – 14.00 per payable silver ounce, respectively.  Better than planned cost performance to date is expected to more than offset any impact of cost increases attributed to the temporary plant shutdown.

The technical information contained in this news release has been reviewed and approved by Robert F. Brown, P. Eng. and Vice President of Exploration for the Company, who is the Qualified Person (QP) for the Guanajuato Mine Complex and the Topia Mine under the meaning of NI 43-101.  Aspects relating to mining and metallurgy are overseen by Ali Soltani, Chief Operating Officer for Great Panther.

Agnico Eagle buys into Yukon’s White Gold district

Posted by ipso facto @ 10:17 on December 13, 2016

Canadian gold miner Agnico Eagle Mines (TSX,NYSE:AGM) is grabbing a significant land position in a well-known Yukon gold play that has already yielded two purchases by major gold mining companies.

Agnico Eagle announced Dec. 5 it has bought a stake in thousands of mining claims in the White Gold district originally owned by Shawn Ryan, the Yukon prospector whose unique soil sampling method turned him into a millionaire almost overnight. A press release states that Agnico Eagle, which owns half of the Canadian Malarctic gold mining operation in Quebec and also has the Meadowbank open-pit gold mine in Nunavut, northern Canada, bought 19.3% of the shares in a company that will soon be named White Gold Corporation, for $14.52 million.

The CBC reports that an associate of Ryan “formed the new Vancouver based company, which then bought all of his claims in the district — 12,300 of them, spread over 21 properties. Ryan said he received $3.5 million and 7 million shares in the new company.”

The pair then offered major mining companies a deal: buy shares in the company and sign onto a 3-year exploration program conducted by Ryan’s company Ground Truth Exploration.

CBC quotes an Agnico Eagle spokesman saying that the arrangement suited Agnico Eagle’s preference for buying early-stage projects.

Mexico’s latest energy auction confirms significant international interest in domestic market

VANCOUVER (miningweekly.com) – Last week’s auction of deepwater oil blocks as part of Mexico’ energy reform process was well received by the international market, confirming government’s momentum since 2013 to break State-owned oil firm Pemex’s then 76-year monopoly on the oil sector.

On December 5, Mexico’s government awarded exploration rights for eight out of ten deepwater blocks in the Gulf of Mexico to international oil companies in the fourth auction in which private investors could bid on oil and gas acreage in Mexico.

the U.S. fighting it–cause Iran can wipe out Israel in 5 minutes just with their conventional weapons–if the u.s. attacked iran, iran would smother Israel with by raining down on them 1000s of highly accurate missiles. Israel is a tiny country-all vital targets would be instantly destroyed.

This is similar to north and south korea–seoul is just 25 miles from the n korea border–seoul would be wiped out in 5 minutes just from cannon fire.

Don’t worry about israel. learn to love it. it is the 51st state–hate fried liver and onions-not israel–focus on uncle miltie and jack benny and kirk douglas…don’t worry, be happy

I never worry-why should I? when there’s an army of worriers out there doing it for me!

Europe falls further into the hole

Europe: Illegal To Criticize Islam

Submitted by Judith Bergmann via The Gatestone Institute,
â—¦While Geert Wilders was being prosecuted in the Netherlands for talking about “fewer Moroccans” during an election campaign, a state-funded watchdog group says that threatening homosexuals with burning, decapitation and slaughter is just fine, so long as it is Muslims who are making those threats, as the Quran tells them that such behavior is mandated.
â—¦”I am still of the view that declaring statistical facts or even sharing an opinion is not a crime if someone doesn’t like it.” – Finns Party politician, Terhi Kiemunki, fined 450 euros for writing of a “culture and law based on a violent, intolerant and oppressive religion.”
â—¦In Finland, since the court’s decision, citizens are now required to make a distinction, entirely fictitious, between “Islam” and “radical Islam,” or else they may find themselves prosecuted and fined for “slandering and insulting adherents of the Islamic faith.”
â—¦As Turkey’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said, “These descriptions are very ugly, it is offensive and an insult to our religion. There is no moderate or immoderate Islam. Islam is Islam and that’s it.” There are extremist Muslims and non-extremist Muslims, but there is only one Islam.
â—¦It is troubling that Western governments are so eager to crack down on anything that vaguely resembles what has erroneously been termed “Islamophobia,” which literally means an irrational fear of Islam.
â—¦Considering the violence we have been witnessing, for those Westerners who have studied Islam and listened to what the most influential Islamic scholars have to say, there are quite a few things in Islam of which one legitimately ought to be fearful.

Good Morning Folks

Posted by Farmboy @ 9:05 on December 13, 2016

Maya, Now Your’re Talking ! Nothing like a mean cup of coffee to start the day rolling.  Dark coffee good, not quite sure about the train? But it is an upgrade from the band cart. 🙂

Last month I cooked up a pot of chili for the Senior Citizens luncheon. I held back on the spices, ya know, just in case they could not handle it. Got a lot of compliments but several complaints that it was too tame. “Next time, spice it up Farmboy” was the suggestion. Okay….today is the day. Just pray I don’t put a lot of Seniors in the ER ! lol

Been busy on ‘Christmas Projects’ of late. Does the heart good to see a lot of folks reaching out during the season and lending a hand. Good to see the American Spirit and the Christmas are still alive and well, in spite of the whining of the Democrats and snowflakes.

Thanks Oasis for keeping me posted of the news, whats going on. Just trying to stay busy while waiting on that Electorial Vote and biding my time until our man takes the oath of office. Going to be interesting to watch as he begins to drain the Swamp.

Looks to me like this ‘Shadow Guvernment’ that has been operating under the radar for at least the last 30 years is being exposed. Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus, and an inside group that have been quietly working against their own country and its interests, with the help of the blind eye of the media. Some of that is changing recently as they reveal their hand in desperation of saving their own arsis. Long as Americans stay vigilant, there is Hope for taking our country back. It is going to be up to ‘We The People’, Trump cannot do this all alone. The RINOs need to have their feet held to the fire. Time to either get with the Trump program or get the hell out of office.

OK, got to pack up the chili and fixins and get rolling. Hope I put enough Jalapeno peppers in there to suit em. 🙂

The Narrative Changes: Republicans “Pour Cold Water” On Trump’s Massive Stimulus, Will Block Tax Cuts

Trump’s race to enact a “huge” stimulus went under a caution flag as Mitch McConnell warned he considers current levels of U.S. debt “dangerous”, and said he any tax overhaul should avoid adding to the deficit. “I think this level of national debt is dangerous and unacceptable.” McConnell also poured cold water on the idea of a massive stimulus package, effectively laying out markers on taxes and spending.
