Sparks, Nevada — US miners and explorationists should not rely solely on President-Elect Donald Trump to halt the Environmental Protection Agency’s proposed federal financial guarantees to stiffen domestic mining project bonding requirements.

During a Wednesday afternoon session of the American Exploration and Mineral Association’s (AEMA) annual conference in Sparks, Nevada, experts representing the National Mining Association, the federal Small Business Administration, environmental consulting, and bonding surety blasted EPA’s proposed changes to the Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability (CERCLA) Section 108 (b) dealing with financial guarantees for mining projects.

The panelists all questioned the need for the EPA to seek its own financial bonding guarantees for mining projects, when the U.S. Bureau of Land Management, the U.S. Forest Service, and state regulatory agencies already possess what miners contend are adequate financial guarantee programs.

NEW YORK – Under a Donald Trump government, Caterpillar will consider keeping jobs in the US that may have otherwise been shifted abroad, CEO Doug Oberhelman said.

Tax changes and other policies proposed by president-elect Trump would help generate more jobs and it’s “reasonable” to think the economy can grow 3%, Oberhelman said in an interview with CNBC Wednesday. As the world’s biggest maker of machinery for the construction and mining industries, Caterpillar is a bellwether for US manufacturing.

Argentina’s lower house of congress votes to re-impose mining export tax

You know all that hoopla and “isn’t Argentina wonderful?” stuff we got from the rah-rah boys about Argentina under Macri, and you remember how his decision to repeal the export tax on mining was the Best. Thing. Ever? Well last night the lower house of congress (deputies) voted to re-install that very tax. It’s a bill that needs to get past the upper house (senate) and then not be vetoed by Macri himself before it becomes law, but even if it doesn’t prosper it’s a serious shot across Macri’s bows for the mid-term elections of next year.

When it comes to Argentina and mining, fools rush in where angels fear to tread (not that I’m particularly angelic, mind you).

Yes they had a quake on the northern coast. I was up there for awhile and for the last one in 1992. Buildings were damaged and people injured. I happened to be covering for someome on NOC shift at a hospital. It took power out and generator came on so had to get out extension cord to plug into to generation plugs. Had to during the quake get some in cover and secure  a oxygen tank in a patients room before it fell over and cracked Cuz theyll take off like a rocket. No wrench I found to turn off the gas if I had to had to find one in maintance room and what a mess that was and could of been injured from all the broken glass in there. Then the generator didn’t turn off when the lights came back on so had to go manually turn it off. It was a rolling quake. Like you were on a boat and a nurse actually got sea sick from it. The one in Sylmar was a shake and major rocking back and forth. It just that time of year. Where Im at now not likely, old settled groujd and no nearby faults. Only if something really big happened. During 92 a homeless teen I took in for awhile no pay thing.. Nice kid bad parents..  his counselor said that he happened to be standing outside looking at the ocean when it hit and saw a bolt of lightning come up out of the ocean. Instead of going down into the ocean it was coming up from the ocean.

Like I mentioned the guy is part of the problem that keeps carrear politicians in power. If your going to quote someone in reference to something like that he should do his homework. But he obviously wasn’t if his intention of getting Kasich in over Trump refering to his own bias. He is misrepresenting Hamilton  well as his duty as a electoral. Thanks for the history on his wife and love and lust life lol  It’s like these politicans need a safe space too lol I didn’t know that about his wife. Yes that’s good and makes the difference of life and death of these children dying of exposure  in the streets like we still sadly see even today in other countries.
