We already have the plague here in wildlife. For that reason kids have to be careful hunting rabbits etc. more so northern Calif. Occasionally but rarely a person can get it. Because of antibiotics the only way it could be a concern is if infected rats got it in the inner city in southern Calif like typhus did and spread rapidly due to the population coming from all over and particularly due to all the homeless and trash and now abandoned buildings in some parts of towns. I don’t know what happened here but the homeless camps disappeared. I know one reason was they’d give them a time to get out so they keep having to move around. It’s tough on many because their not chosing to be homeless they just got priced out and only way they can save money or afford to eat. More and more people are teaming up or kids not leaving home helping parents because rents ridiculous then gas and with it food prices, med insurance, car insurance all higher than other places thanks to our demoncratic government. When I went to southern Calif a few yrs ago I saw a big white rat crawling around at night outside a big hotel next to Disneyland in Orange country near LA then disappear I think in the street water drainage system.
