You reminded me of my plane trip where they had no pilot “ they did to themselves with the Covid clot shot mandate,” stuck in a “ closed “ airport all night with the air conditioners blazing, freezing the ones left behind while the staff went to a hotel to sleep the night until 8 something the next morning. Only to be stuck in the next air port transfer the next day.

If they couldn’t find you a room they could of at least asked the visitors to be quiet. They have a right to visit but not bother other patients. It’s a hospital not a social event. They can save that for when they get home. If they can’t they should restrict their visit time to a few minutes. There should be rules stated for that anyway. People with hearing that bad should learn some basic sign language, but to each there own.
As far as not treating your pain, that is cold and inhumane. It’s behind the times and the assumptions over time of why have been disproven. One of the big ones is masking symptoms. Ah when you came in with abdominal pain they can immediately identify they already have the symptoms and today they use technology they didn’t have 100 yrs ago like X-rays , cat scans et all to diagnose and IV titration of opiates.
So that hospital is basically backwards and ignorant of its own progress in diagnosing practices it uses now and continues to use old theory’s a excuse not to treat the pain.

A big concern is having to wait that long to get a diagnosis when it could of been life threatening.

Ps you know what the irony is with using that as a excuse when they don’t practice the assessment skills they had back then. I knew the doctors from a 100 years ago because I started in the field so young. Plus what you may remember from child hood. Remember how fast they were? Now days they rely more and more on technology and computers. Then they go it could be this it it could be that now. Some sit there in a computer and put in the symptoms. There losing these skills. When I was on the flight back there was a young foreign doctor on board trying to figure out what was wrong with a passenger that had collapsed. She’s all taking vital signs and telling it to the stewardesses like see I can take a BP. like the stewardess knew what that meant. They had no clue. I didn’t need to take a BP to know the person was suffering from heat exhaustion which ended the needless probing and got the person cooled down as well as the rest of the passengers.
But yet they are still using the excuse of assessment when there not assessing but the computers are if there handy. It depends on the doctor thought.
