is anyone else having difficulty logging on? for the past couple days when i try to get here, i just get a blank screen. repeated attempts, same thing. try again after several hours, bingo, no problems.

Yes, big disconnect. Bonds have been rallying and rates falling since the Fed raised on Wednesday. The bond market doesn’t appear to believe the Fed.

Here comes the disconnect with the metals and the shares – gold, silver up slightly – shares down. They’re going after the juniors in particular.

Same as it always is.

Wait a minute. Bond prices and interest rates have an inverse relationship. Per recent Fed meeting, rates are going up. Steady buying in bonds equals demand equals prices going up, I assume. Isn’t that a disconnect?

Breaking News

President Trump‘s grandson was allegedly photographed while he slept by Secret Service agents tasked with protecting him.

The agents were reportedly riding in a motorcade last weekend with Donald Trump Jr.‘s 8-year-old son when the incident went down. Donald III was asleep in the vehicle, and the agents allegedly shot selfies with him in the background.

According to Mother Jones, which broke the story, Don III woke up, “freaked out” and later told his parents about the incident. DT Jr. then reported it to the Secret Service, which launched an investigation.

A Secret Service spokesman says, “The US Secret Service is aware of a matter involving two of our agents and one of our protectees. Our Office of Professional Responsibility will always thoroughly review a matter to determine the facts and to ensure proper, long-standing protocols and procedures are followed.

Nothing spectacular but just enough to keep the metals afloat. Hard to see much of a breach above 1230 or HUI 200 on a Quad Witching OpEx day but it beats the alternative – at least so far.

That could be true, although if I’m not mistaken, the stock market back in the 30’s didn’t come roaring back to new all-time highs.

The gold standard may have prevented the Fed from propping up all markets with endless amounts of freshly printed fiat.

they made back in the Thirties ..We were coming out of the Depression and they raised RATES prematurely and we went right back in to depression ….The reason was the same..GREED ….They couldent wait for the REAL ECONOMY to get going and get us on a good sustainable growth pattern ,they put Financial assets ahead of the economy where BANKSTERS make their Profits from higher paying HUGH LOANS to the TAXpayer .They again put their interests first ..and besides they figured it would take a WAR to really get RATES and BIG LOANS GOING ..What better way to to save the Banks they PUT the Country in DEBT with a WAR because the Private sector would be a slow recovery anyway .Wars create GIANT LOANS really FAST ..Why wait for the economy ? Same Shit Different DAY ! If they had SHRUNK the Banking sector and let half of them FAIL the pressure to go to WAR would be much LESS. because the smaller economy would support a SMALLER Banking Sector…

I’m more in agreement with you on the shares (and the metals for that matter) than eeos is apparently.

I don’t think anything has changed with the new regime, the action is the same, and Goldman owns yet another regime as evidenced by multiple Goldmanites within the cabinet.

Yesterday, was typical. No follow thru after a nice rally, strong open – weak close. If things go as usual we will likely give up most of the gains by today or Monday. Same old.
