The Vernal (Spring) Equinox is the exact moment of the ingress of the Sun into Aries…the commencement of the astrological year. A map of the Heavens is drawn for the moment of ingress at the seat of government of a nation. The figure for the Vernal Equinox always bears chief rule for the ensuing year. The following interpretation is for the chart cast for Washington, D.C., depicting situations to be faced by the population of the USA from March 2015 to March 2016.
The Theme for the new astrological year will be crises in the areas of employment, labor relations, police, firefighters, military, utilities, public health and the working class in general. The square of Saturn to 6th house Neptune increases the discomfort and signifies a period of great uncertainty; many will feel incapable of coping with even the ordinary details of everyday life. Health issues in the form of diseases will be difficult to diagnose.
The 3rd decanate of Virgo Rises, its ruler Mercury positioned in Pisces in the 6th house of public health/illness, military movements, police and the nation’s food supply. It is applying to sextile Pluto in the 4th house, offering an opportunity to solve a deep-seated mystery that involves authority figures (Pluto in Capricorn)…the downside of this planetary combination may be mental power struggles.
Pictured in the heavens by a crown of twelve iron spikes, the 3rd decanate of Virgo bestows a sub-influence of Taurus. This Venus-decanate of the mental sign Virgo is the point from which the Sun passes into the winter section of the zodiac. And so the serpent, picturing the 1st decanate of Libra, is represented with his fangs just before Corona Borealis – the Northern Crown – as if to strike.
The spiritual message of the ancients who depicted Corona Borealis in the heavens is the story of Job and how he triumphed over his afflictions. The fruits of life are harvested from experience. What that harvest shall be is not determined by the nature of the experiences, but by the mental and emotional reaction toward them; for both the physical conditions attracted in the future, and the spiritual values garnered, are dependent upon the seeds of thought thus sown and tended in the finer form and heading into character.
During the trials engineered by Satan, Job (3:25) said: “For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.”
To fear a thing is to hold its image vividly in the mind and to feed that image mental energy. It thus creates a thought-form which has a certain power, acting from the four-dimensional plane, to attract into the life the thing thus thought about.
In his time of affliction Job’s friends held forth the doctrine that man’s lot in this world is determined by his morality, and that the Lord must be punishing him for grievous sins. But Job held that even the afflictions he suffered were for some good purpose.
Accomplishment of any kind implies the ability to overcome difficulties. People who have never had hard problems to solve are unable to solve hard problems when suddenly presented.
Afflictions, therefore, as Job discerned, are not bestowed by heaven to punish man for sin, but to indicate that he has a lesson to learn. When he has learned this lesson he will be able to triumph over the affliction, as Job did in the end…for he was healed and the Lord gave him twice as much as he had before, and he lived a long and prosperous life. The moral of this story is to live the life of the Spirit and to have fortitude in times of adversity.
Mercury is also conjoined Neptune and inconjunct retrograde Jupiter in Leo. The former aspect lends brain fog to communications for the population, that brain fog undoubtedly due to toxic food (Neptune in 6th); the best way to use this energy is to be discriminating in your choices of food…and on another level by directing your energies into creative ventures (Neptune) that will serve others (6th house).
Jupiter in Leo trine (harmony) Uranus in Aries will grant many benefits to illegal aliens far beyond what has already been granted that will further burden Americans with debt as 9th house (immigrants) ruler Venus falls into the 8th house.
Weather will continue to be an issue across the land as Pluto in Capricorn in the 4th house is still squared by Uranus in Aries. Pluto tends to bring extreme conditions: cold and wet with winds of a violent and destructive nature. Capricorn is the sign of storms, of extreme cold, and of destructive floods and droughts. Uranus in square will increase the Pluto tendencies.
At the Midheaven of every chart lies the area that answers “WHY all this? What is the ultimate goal that we are to reach, the essential purpose of the struggle?” The 3rd Decanate of Gemini is herein positioned. A huge bear – Ursa Major – traveling about the pole-star in a forward direction depicts among the constellations the Aquarius-decanate of Gemini. The bear, whose restless activity and omnivorous nature is typical of mentality, in this case moves as does the objective mind, in the direction of events. And it is huge in size to indicate the immense power that may be exercised by thought. This is the scientific decanate of the sign of thought…the decanate of Reason.
Reason should be used wherever possible to check the reports of the psychic senses and intuition. The two stars in the outer bowl of the dipper which mark the shoulder of the Giant Bear point directly to the pole star, Truth. Objective consciousness and the reports of the physical senses which Reason commonly employs are not sufficient in themselves to acquire the whole of Truth. Reason, like the Pointers, only indicates the direction of Truth, which is really touched by the unconscious mind and the Intuition as symbolized in the Little Bear.
When we approach an object from one side we may see all that can be seen from that direction, but not all that may be seen from the other side. Reason and Intuition thus approach knowledge from different directions. While Intuition touches Truth, it does not get the view that Reason does, even though Reason only points in its direction. Both the inside and the outside of things need to be known to possess complete knowledge.
Freedom implies the power of choice, and choice involves good and evil. Every Ego is free to choose the positive or the negative, the good or the ill. Job in 2:10 notes the truth that good and evil are opposite poles of One Reality…”What? Shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil?” Out of our weakness comes the strength of God, and there is no other road to perfection.
It is the resolution of the duality of powers expressed by Gemini, the sign of the Heavenly Twins, that Divine wisdom and love come to be born and become operative in humanity…to understand that truth is dual: the truth of appearances and the truth of reality…that heaven and hell are within.
Think what the “why” means…the reason you must seek truth…it is because those in authority of organized religion have deceived the masses, and in so doing have kept crucial knowledge from you, knowledge that was meant to guide you home. “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7
