Were restricted to Property owners because they were acknowledged to be somewhat intelligent, literate and capable of reasoning .The Founders also said that a Constitutional Republic required a literate voting populace to succeed.What do we have today ?You don’t even need to know the language,be able to read and write, be a citizen or a legal resident.Even dead people vote! Look at what you get !
