in 1960, in central florida, when i got my first drivers license, a dollar (four quarters were easier for a teenager to get) would buy a little over three gallons of gas. those same four 1960 quarters (at melt/spot value – $42.90), today will buy a little over ten gallons. same money, more gas …strange to think of the price of gas actually going down over time.
