salt water crocodiles are not alligators. Fresh water ones, maybe, and they are smaller than salties, and certainly will run rather than fight. But salties love humans.
Here we have a peaceful creek in northern Queensland. With seven salties in it. Entering the water will cost you fines up to $10,000, and possibly a lot more than money.

i grew up swimming in lakes that had gators. everyone who grew up in florida did. gators are afraid of humans, and naturally avoid them. gator/human attacks are extremely rare and almost always involve gators who have lost their fear of humans by being fed by damnyankees who didn’t know better.
easy test to see if a florida body of water may have gators:

No gators?
…time to head for the swimming hole.
