I was implying they switched from 1910 building codes “four square” to that modern open floor plan construction. Firemen had never seen buildings collapse like that. Yes there was structure in the center for elevators.
But from center to outer wall structure just flimsy floor joists that melted. Were holding everything together. I remember reading an article where a professional steel guy went in there before they were completed and said…”There’s really not much steel in here”.
