Trump? I Like Him So Far, But He Might Just Be Another Dissapointment

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 18:08 on February 27, 2016

He is not saying important things. So either he is not allowed to say certain things, or he himself does not want to say certain things that might hurt his nomination. Like suggesting a higher minimum wage. He stated he was AGAINST raising the minimum wage.

He also might not knowledgeable (up to speed) about the history of the US economy. When it peaked, why it peaked, why it declined, what happened, how it happened etc etc.

I was discussing this with a friend who told me to go to his site to see his objectives. I looked first at his tax plan and was NOT impressed at all. My note to my friend is below, showing parts of the plan and my opinion or comment that follows.

=====================================================

Part:
If you are single and earn less than $25,000, or married and jointly earn less than $50,000, you will not owe any income tax.

Comment:
Different areas of the country should have different tax rates and different minimum wage rates. Those numbers above are ok in rural states, but not adequate for our areas. Those numbers should be $40,000-$45,000 single, and $80,000 to $90,000 couples. Our $1.25/hr or $50/week minimum wage of the ’60s would need a factor of 15 to be equal. About $750/wk in todays money.

Part:
This lower tax rate cannot be for big business alone; it needs to help the small businesses that are the true engine of our economy. Right now, freelancers, sole proprietors, unincorporated small businesses and pass-through entities are taxed at the high personal income tax rates.

Comment:
Lets face it. Freelancers, sole proprietors, unincorporated small businesses etc never declare all their income anyway. Most business start ups I saw in my life time were coworkers, because employees had plenty of money left over after expenses (until 1975)to build up savings, to buy equipment, a cushion for unsteady income.

I read the whole thing re tax plan. Property taxes are way way out of line re avg wages. He said nothing about property taxes. They make rents too high.

My OPINION? People who benefit the MOST from gov’t, (police teachers gov’t vendors etc) tax absorbers, should be in higher tax brackets.

People who DON’T benefit from gov’t (private sector tax payer employment) should be in lower tax brackets.

Nothing matters now. The damage has been done. That’s why we have a “Trump”.
