Doing good Dear Lady. I hope you get over your illness soon as it sounds like ‘Handsome’ has taken up a liking to you feeding him on a regular basis.
I have enjoyed taking a year or so off from watching events spiral ever downward in this crazy old world. About the only time I turned on the TV was to watch an occasional football game. Quit listening to talk radio too. Completely ignored the markets and things financial. Instead, I spent my hours doing quite a bit of reading of all types, enjoying my growing collection of music, and concentrating on just enjoying life which is quite good in my little corner of the world as long as I don’t let the bigger picture go and spoil it.
Friends are still golden and enjoyable. My cooking skills continue to improve best I can tell. Folks seem pleased to eat it anyways. And about a month ago I started going to multi million Brand New Aquatic Center that the county paid for. Thought it a waste of money but what the heck, might as well enjoy the heated pool and it seems to be doing me some good. Pretty sad though, somedays I pretty much have the facility to myself or just a few others. I think ‘boondoggle’ is the accurate word to describe the latest expenditure of hard earned tax dollars.
Mostly I am just killing time until Spring when I can do a little gardening. Hoping that will return some sense of accomplishment and restore a little of my manhood lost when I upgraded to a gas log fireplace. Yep, no more splitting wood for the time being. Just a flick of the remote control and instant roaring fireplace. I must be getting soft or something. Even rode in a recently built Cadillac the other day. It too starts with a remote or a push button on the dash. Guess that is all fine, but think I will just keep my old Ford Pick up and the set of keys on the John Deere key ring. Yep, long as they keep putting pockets on blue jeans I think I will stick to carrying my keys.
