Back in 1969 Platinum was almost 6 times the price of Gold, it is now a mere 0.3495…..so if gold stood still and that old ratio returned Platinum….would be just under $ 16,000 /oz…which might have a sizeable effect on a load of beaten up Platinum shares….like 30 times at a minimum.
And as redneckokie pointed out, now the US car mkt is staying normal, ie ICE engines will stay….. that has every chance of happening, as even the EU will have to wake up soon…..

It appears to be worth more to the folks at the NY Vaults
Hope we can string together a series of days like this. Especially headed into the weekend.

Trump had threatened to levy those tariffs if the nations did not do more to help secure US borders from the inflow of undocumented migrants and illegal drugs

The dollar just spiked higher, and the shares and SM were dropped on their heads, but the metals are moving higher. WTF was that?
SM reversed in seconds.
edit: Seems to be stabilizing now, but the metals are strengthening as are the shares.

I guess maybe going back to fossil fuel cars is going to raise demand for converters.
Cattle markets have backed away from all time highs but don’t look for cheap beef in the foreseeable future. Nobody I know is keeping replacement heifers. It may take two or three years for grass pastures to come back after the droughts. The pork producers should have no problem replacing beef demand if the chickens don’t all die. If the avian flu spreads like it might, roadkill may start looking attractive. I’m really happy my wife’s farm has lots of wild turkeys and hogs.
After I reached geezerhood, I noticed body parts started deteriorating. Now it’s gall bladder. I understand the fix is minor surgery. I’m waiting for the ultrasound appointment call now. If the pain gets much worse, emergency room, here I come.

Just a figure of speech. No restrictions against higher prices, and you are not ignorant at all my friend. Maybe Gold will overshoot $3000 to 3100.

Forgive my ignorance. How do you get air above $2846 and $3000 for prices that we’ve never seen before?

If you were a fund, why would you want to show holding anything pm in your fund around month end?

That kind of DEI is everywhere because they don’t have the knowledge or sills to help solve the problem or direct you to the correct place or procedure.
A friend warned me a hacker is getting into Pay Pal accounts and she found a bunch of charges on her credit cards. A hacker got into one account and got in hers and likely others. They wouldn’t let her close her Pay Pal account. Part of conversation. She writes me in larger Fonts when I mentioned the lights I can’t adjust on my phone that either go dark or right. She usually writes in perfect sentences with no typos on computer she doesn’t trust mobile phones but was probably typing fast.
credit card company. Now I’m trying to close down my
paypal account, and it won’t let me for sme reason. So I took the bank and all the cards off it except…
Private from there. Watch your cards.

I’m sure they were all grown up affirmative action babies. After going to the DMV after so many years, and seeing it with my own eyes, no diversity, just minorities, I have to assume all our gov’ts are loaded with them. Plenty of big businesses also are loaded with them.
