I like the way, the sell off did not become a cascade in PM’s….seems there is a buyer up here….which considering where we are should really scare shorts .

SM turned south around 4 am EST. Not in a huge way, but the fault lines are evident. The only thing I can see that’s up are bonds, the 10 yr. down to 4.34%. Scott Bessent, the treasury secretary, commented on the Sunday show with Maria Bartiromo that rates have fallen 5 consecutive weeks. Doesn’t seem that way, but they are down from above 4.6%. Might be the only reason that pm’s haven’t collapsed.

Bitcoin taking it on the chin, down $2200 below $90K. Oil flat, pm’s down a little $15 & $.15 respectively. Dollar is a little stronger, but not much.

The shares in everything don’t look good, pm shares included. Not crazy yet, but they’ve got the feel that it’s going to get worse.

A long way to go before the open, so maybe this is nothing.

I don’t know for sure, but do notice that the train crosses the state line.  I suspect local state laws prohibited the power plant where they happened to find the coal.  I do find it kind of neat that the power plant powers it’s own train system to obtain the coal.

Maddog – Trump also said it could be that tons of gold has been stolen from Ft. Knox. I think it might have been tongue in cheek, but something we wonder as well.

Captain – was looking at 320 as well and hoping it would hold. So far, so good. The SM and the metals are always the risk I guess. The QQQ’s didn’t finish well but at least didn’t drag us back below 320. Tough call.

Just noticed Bitcoin, hit for $4K today. Seems it can be stolen after all.

Ron Paul is almost 90 years young now. I’m glad he’s living to see this day.

Maybe they are afraid they’ll lose their socialist benefits and maybe cheap labor including using our military. When’s the last time we saw German troops in the mid east fighting ISIS bothering them more than us because they let them in.

I don’t think it would take real long under true Communism before the citizens of Europe realize how messed up it is!

Ipso – I thought that interesting that the folks from E. Berlin voted AFD and West didn’t, as well. Just goes to show how powerful the propaganda has been over the last several decades in Germany. deer79 – I think you too kind to their investor relations folks. Here’s what happened today. 4 different analysts all on the same day:

Goldman Sachs Adjusts Price Target on Newmont to $48.60 From $47.20, Maintains

Jefferies Adjusts Price Target on Newmont to $57 From $55

Raymond James Adjusts Newmont’s Price Target to $53 From $58

Macquarie Adjusts Price Target on Newmont to $54 From $55, Keeps Outperform Rating

So you actually have two brokerages downgrading their price targets. Make sense of that for me. If you extrapolate their earnings out over the next four quarter, they are trading at an 8 PE right now. That’s just absurd with a rising gold price.

Volume is pretty decent today, but these brokerages conspire to keep the prices low on NEM. It should be trading on forward earnings. I don’t know what the historic PE is for them but I would bet it’s not 8. They need to raise their dividend to $4 a share or have a floating dividend of 80% of their earnings. Maybe then they’ll get some attention.

Is that what has happened with your stock since you announced your last quarters earnings ( which looked good on paper)? Your stock price has dropped some 9% since then?

What do you attribute that to? Why is it that your company does nothing to combat the endless short selling that completely goes unchecked by the SEC?

Only in the mining industry can a company report positive earnings and get so severely punished for it!

That’s for sure. I’ll never forget when he spoke at the RNC. He walked up to the podium to a mix of boo’s and scattered applause. He looked uncomfortable and knew he didn’t belong.
