The markets are an illogical stinker

There’s definitely a lot of blood in the streets and it appears markets are planning for a worst case Fed announcement- including pm’s.

I guess we’ll know in a little while if we’re right or not.

Seems to me that the Nasdaq and Bitcoin might be the tell if things. Will Reverse course

The Fed will release its new policy statement at 2 pm ET, and Fed Chair Jerome Powell will hold a press conference at 2:30. Policymakers will have to walk a tightrope: Inflation is lasting longer than it expected, but rising Covid infections mean ripping the Band-Aid too quickly could sting, sending the economy south.

Looking further back, we can see the late 2015 bottom, from the 2012 top. We were coming bach strong in early 2016, but during Trump’s years we went down the whole time. Finally started back up in May ’19 only to get bashed again with that early 2020 Covid. Whats with this latest drop from June? Was it the Fed talking rate hikes back then? Anybody remember what started this? The Sprot chart shows a very high volume month in February before June. Something in the news (silver jumps to 12 year high) must have sparked that blow off high.

Since my family background is Scottish , I’ll make the joke about a Scot and a Frenchman , both captured by a remote Amazonian tribe .

They are both thrown into a hut , under guard for a day , then the Frenchman is dragged out before a tribal council and given two choices ; Death or Punta-punta ?

He thinks ” I have no idea what Punta-punta is , but I don’t want to die .”
” Punta-punta ” he replies .

Great rejoicing by the tribe !
He is then bent over and tied to a post in the center of the village where he is anally raped for the rest of the day and into the night by every male in the village . Then he is thrown back into the hut , curled up in a fetal position and moaning until daybreak .

The Scot thinks ” I would rather die than submit to THAT ! ”

As the sun rises , he is dragged before the tribal council and given the same ultimatum .

He draws himself up , proudly and announces ” I choose DEATH ! ”

With that the village goes absolutely wild with anticipation as they drag him off to the post … yelling

“Death ! He chooses DEATH BY PUNTA-PUNTA !!! “.

Don’t know if I’ll drown , or be tied to the mast and flailed .

Centerra Gold hit with lawsuit over rights violations at Kyrgyzstan mine

Kyrgyzstan is suing Canada’s Centerra Gold (TSX: CG) over alleged cyber-security and employee rights violations at its formerly owned Kumtor gold mine, in the latest chapter of an ongoing dispute between the parties over the expropriated asset.

The legal challenge claims that Centerra has blocked user and administrator access to Kumtor’s computers since May 2021, shortly before the government appointed a temporary external manager at the mine.

“Once again, it appears that the Kyrgyz government is trying to divert attention from the fact that it sent secret police to seize the Kumtor gold mine,” a spokesperson for Centerra Gold said in an emailed statement.

“As we have said previously, when government authorities confiscated computers and passwords of individual Kumtor employees, Centerra’s global IT systems restricted user access to preserve the integrity of the organization’s global IT infrastructure and its confidential information. The mine’s safety systems were not impacted,” he noted.

Maybe this is all predicting a further slowdown in the manufacturing and production integration of global commune economy. Also could be predicting a slowdown in war time production which never really ended after WW II. Rotating over to new wars on two fronts. WW III war against the weather, on the eastern front, and war against Covid plus on the western front.

The fed gang must have sweat on their upper lips. LOL

I hope you’re right my friend. Today’s downturn in the shares is sure exaggerated compared to how much gold is down. Must be some tax loss selling still happening.

the hopefulness in me thinks this is the perfect spike down especially in silver and the shares that could end a downside for awhile.

We’ve seen it before, but we’ll have to see a reversal later today IMHO.

This down leg is reminding me of the 2020 Covid Crash. All the two year charts look the same. We were doing great in June. I don’t remember what the news was that started this correction. On the positive side prices are still above the Covid Crash lows. Its aways good to have some ready cash in the account for the next up wave. I remember the 1970s Gold Silver and miners had a lot of good years as the Fed timidly raised rates, never enough to cause a drop until they hit 21%. Lets see if history repeats itself.
