That’s one of the areas where Trump has disappointed. One of his campaign promises was to deal with the debt but once in office he’s a victim of Drunken Sailor Syndrome like so many other elected officials.

Re Debt…..at least you have a government that acknowledges yr debt problem and is trying to grow out of it, via a strong economy etc…over here in Europe, as far as all governments are concerned the debt problem doesn’t exist …it is never spoken of, or acknowledged in any way….

The cost of servicing US debt is the highest in decades:
On Thursday, the US government sold $25 billion of 30Y Treasury bonds at a 5.216% yield, the highest auction yield since 2001.
This follows a $42 billion auction of 10Y Treasury notes on Wednesday that resulted in a 4.683% yield, the highest since 2007.
Previously, on July 9th, the government sold 30Y Treasury bonds at a 5.058% yield, the highest since 2007, highlighting the worsening trend in US debt financing costs.
By comparison, yields on the same-maturity Treasury auctions were below 2.00% during the 2020 pandemic.
This comes as investors are demanding more compensation to finance the US government’s ever-growing deficit.
In July, the US Treasury’s budget deficit surged +$141 billion YoY, to $432 billion, the largest July total in history.
The US debt crisis is entering uncharted territory.

Yeah it could be more active for hurricanes in the Pacific this year compared to the Atlantic that will also threaten the south West coast. Your hurricane was much more severe than a 1 coming near the big island bringing a lot of rain with it and potential for flooding in low levels. Things are moving around but the warm weather in the Gulf of America is bringing flesh eating bacteria in the ocean water that has hospitalized quite a few people in Louisiana so far and also no joke. Including by sea food internally if not cooked completely like raw oysters. They shouldn’t even shave the day or many hours before going in the water not just recent abrasions cuts or scratches. But who know Hawaii and Mexico to southern California could be busy this year.
