It didn’t analyse the data to see the inconsistencies between reports which showed a 30% to 40% decrease in recoveries from the primary circuit in pilot plant testing. The company was still applying the lab test results across the deposit even though the pilot plant had not only not scaled up, but they had abandoned that process as not gonna work. GIGO definitely, but the worry is that very few of us realise it. Doctors galloping away with AI suggestions because it is sold as intelligent, the answer to all our health problems, tap in the symptoms and do as the computer tells you is going to be disastrous for some. Because that is how it is being sold. The smart guys like you and soee will benefit because you realise its limitations. I think this is a buying opportunity given the Co. is doing very well w/out Panama (worst case), and this is simply a government tactic to negotiate a better royalty on the project.

Panama commission urges orderly closure of First Quantum’s Cobre mine
Panama should negotiate a restart of First Quantum Minerals’ (TSX: FM) Cobre Panama mine to fund its eventual orderly closure without burdening the state, a ministerial committee has recommended President José Raúl Mulino.
The three-minister commission recommendation follows an audit conducted by independent Swiss consultants, along with an assessment of the mine’s economic, environmental and legal implications. The commission stressed that its proposal was not a final decision, which rests with the president.
BMO analyst Matthew Murphy said the recommendations point toward negotiations that could allow Cobre Panama to operate long enough to meet Panama’s objectives, rather than an imminent shutdown. The commission’s report cites a 25-year active mine life as an illustrative example, he noted.
“We believe Cobre Panama likely needs to run for decades to satisfy these objectives,” Murphy said in a note. “Risks are elevated but mutually agreeable solutions that preserve value remain possible.”

Are you using GitHub and Codex to direct ChatGPT and are you using Astra 6.1? I have lots of people tell me that AI doesn’t work for them and it’s mostly based on experience when people are disappointed. Soee is building an amazing trading platform with this technology, so I know firsthand it can be done with success. It’s the old adage of garbage in and garbage out.
We still don’t have AI, let alone SI.
It is still nothing more than a huge database, or series of databases, that very quick computers (that’s where all the GPUs are) can access very quickly. Like playing a computer at chess, it doesn’t think, it just tries out all available combos far quicker than a human can. In earlier days humans could beat computers because they eliminated the obviously wrong moves immediately and only focussed on potentially good moves.
I’ve just asked it what the best investment over the last 25 years in Australia was. Property and shares is the answer. Sorry, AI, it was the precious yellow. And tax free too!! Ahead of property and shares anyway, but way ahead with that advantage.
I asked it to find me an ASX share with the potential for a ten times gain over the next 18 months (over 12 months being a tax advantageous period) and it was totally dismissive. After several prompts, false starts and pointing out its factual errors, it finally concluded that my choice was an absolutely brilliant find and it had a great chance of achieving the goal. I did all the work, it provided confirmation bias when it could no longer disagree.
As for fixing the problem of a car which would only sort of start, sometimes, forget it. Fascinating to follow its suggestions, but couldn’t give the answer.

I think the primary reason would be to try to plug the holes in their budget. Their tax base is declining and they need some way to pay benefits to all the immigrants. If Trump is hurt by their actions then that’s a bonus for them!

Re tax……Yr money is no longer yours in the EU and hasn’t been for quite a while …the first test case was way back in Cyprus, when the took money from any accounts over a certain size, to bail out a banking crisis….in 2013…..they took 10 % on any accounts over Euros 100,000 ….when the majority did nothing, they took that as a Go…..
I had money deducted by a French utility, direct from my bank without a word said to me, to pay a bill I was late paying……and the Bank charged my a fee for allowing /facilitating the Utility !!!!!!

BREAKING: Yemen’s Houthis appear to have struck the Abqaiq oil processing facility in eastern Saudi Arabia, the largest crude stabilization plant in the world, handling around 5 to 7% of global oil supply. EUMETSAT Meteosat imagery shows a black smoke plume roughly 90 km long trailing from the site for at least seven hours, from 06:45 UTC until the satellite lost light at sunset.
Abqaiq processes the crude from Ghawar, the world’s largest oilfield, and feeds the export terminals at Ras Tanura and Juaymah.

BREAKING: Iran appears to have struck ADNOC’s Bu Hasa facility southwest of Abu Dhabi, one of the UAE’s largest onshore oil and gas fields. Sentinel-3 imagery from today shows a black smoke plume roughly 50 km long over the site.
NASA FIRMS recorded a fire radiative power of 143 megawatts at the facility, with the VIIRS mid-infrared channel reading 367 Kelvin, the absolute ceiling the sensor can register, meaning the fire is likely hotter than the data shows. Flights near Abu Dhabi were disrupted earlier today.
Bu Hasa crude feeds the Habshan-Fujairah pipeline, the UAE’s only export route that bypasses the Strait of Hormuz. Saudi Arabia’s East-West pipeline, its own route around Hormuz, has been struck 3 weeks ago

I saw that article about Hormuz from Goldman, that great news! If he can get gas prices down quickly, especially diesel, that will really help everything from inflation to rates. Unless rates are now more of a function of foreigners dumping our debt than the Fed.
Now, just need the Turks and Pakistani’s to cut loose and eliminate the Houthi’s and all the havoc they cause.
