The Fed is doing QE they’re just not announcing it. What they’re getting back in mortgage backed securities they’re not putting it back but taking that money and putting it in treasuries. The reason why the long term bonds can move up because of housing loans vs future inflation. It’s a gamble. Long term since the debt never gets paid QEs still QE
