US Firms No Longer Safe In Mexico? Army Commandeers US-Owned Marine Terminal

We’ve heard many heartbreaking stories of American tourists venturing into Mexico only to be kidnapped or, worse, killed in crazy cartel drug war battles. It appears these days, no one is safe across the southern border, not even US-owned companies.

Bloomberg reported that Mexican marines and police officers seized US construction firm Vulcan Materials’ port terminal near Playa del Carmen in southern Mexico.

Footage from the seizure showed a long line of police and military units entering the property last Tuesday.

There is no-one in Germany with what u would call serious stature….there is no Bundesbank head who can terrify mkts …..and anyway it is now subordinate to the ECB and the lovely Lagarde who can barely spell Central Bank.

Plus the ECB is not supposed to be able to print Bonds etc……this was not part of their plans when the Zero was built…….

Stoltz the Chancellor is a weak joke….and the whole government is a coalition cobbled together….not strong at all…..

First u blow up that pipe line, then u cause a bank crash….anyone would think a demented idiot was in the Oval office.

I see DB is minus near 10 %….this is the beast that has either 17 or 70 times German GDP in Derivatives……ie it is too big to bail….and it is full of dirty linen…

I see that it is CDS’ that are driving this move……why they still exist is beyond me…..

No wonder the mkts are reacting.

FOX Business noting that DB’s stock is falling, as it may be the next domino to fall. That would explain the weakness in the futures market and the Euro markets.

I don’t know if I missed it or things just turned but the SM futures are down pretty hard.

Rates are also down hard. 10 yr. @ 3.29% Dollar still up near .5%

European markets are ugly as well.

Appears it may be an exciting day.

You may be right about the scum, maybe $2K will be a struggle. GLD has an RSI right around 70 now, no doubt it’s vulnerable.

I just don’t see a single thing that is bearish out there for pm’s other than the USD and rates.

I still see us getting above the HUI 250 level before any pullback. Just a guess.

edit: Well hell, in the time it took me to type this, gold has come back to flat and silver up $.13. Looks like silver is the key.

Waking up to a little weakness this am, but nothing too scary. USD getting some upside follow-thru from yesterday’s late day rally. Would think we’re looking at rates that are slightly higher as well, but can’t confirm just yet.

Silver might just surprise us today to the upside, as it is flat. Never know but now up $.04

We’ve managed to recoup the week’s early losses, hopefully a sign of good things to come.

heh heh heh… no they will never give up.  They can’t so they won’t. They will not lose their god given advantage. ever. until “it doesn’t matter anymore”.

Let’s keep it that way. I’m still not sure whether gold is even on most peoples radar. Judging from our little site, it doesn’t appear there are a lot of new folks getting in. Maybe $2,500? $3,000?

Volume was below avg. again in most of the shares. I didn’t realize the dollar came all the way back and finished up on the day. Makes the day even more impressive, although rates did get monkey hammered. I don’t think we’ll see the 10 yr. back over 4% this year, unless there’s something I can’t see.
