I’m ready for the miners to run, including the juniors. If a junior has a good project then I don’t think financing is a problem right now. It looks like the Feds are going to be shoveling cash out for the foreseeable future. Having said that, yes there is a general problem for the juniors if money gets tight.

Many juniors-explorecos fade into nothingness. It’s only the few that do great which have kept me afloat. Stocks like Skeena, Newfound Gold, West African Resources and Snowline Gold have really done well. Of course you need to buy them early and sell a bunch when they run big. Most of them come down quite a bit off a peak. Takeouts at a premium are a bonus.

If GLD breaks up here, the next stop is the old highs. Looks good for a breakout above 181 or so.

Oil now down almost 2%, what the hell is going on with oil?

Looks like they can in the premarket. NEM, GOLD & AEM all up 1-2%

Ipso – you mentioned some frustration with the juniors in here. Do you think the higher rates and tighter financial conditions the juniors are at risk of funding and the cost of funding?

If they are not producing, the cost of exploration increases along with the costs of financing weigh on earnings. I have to tell you that you do a helluva job with the juniors, I’ve sat on big losses, or through bankruptcy a few times. I dumped my GROY here at the bottom and that is the last junior I have around $2. I do have BTG but I don’t really consider that as risky as some of the other cheap stocks. I’m at the point and age where I’m not willing to take the risk. I do still have a few penny stocks in the retirement, but for trading or holding I’m just in the large caps.

Oil is the new gold, it can’t hold a bid, was up $1.30 earlier, now only up $.40

As so often has been the case lately, silver is lagging yet again. Gold bearing down on $1960

PM’s have been up and steady pretty much all night. Nothing crazy, silver up 1% and gold up $10+ but definitely nice to see.

SM futures are flat, don’t think there is any major eco news.

USD is down 1/2%, nice tailwind. Let’s close the week strong.

edit – silver is still the weak sister and has lost half the games from earlier.

The only easy day was yesterday.

Bullish again but not as bullish as the last report. They’re only a week behind now.
