I used to burn coal in my pot belly stove, it gave a nice blue flame. No smoke. Even all the houses had coal bins in the basements, and a truck would come in the driveway, and slide it into the basement window. Coal is a lot cheaper than oil.

More Coal use will kill some oil use. Oil is in everything. And if you want to kill inflation, just kill oil prices. This whole system may go into deflation which has a tailwind. And fits reversal of 100 years of falling value dollars to increasing value dollars.

Rio Tinto (ASX, LON: RIO) is now the majority owner of the giant Oyu Tolgoi copper-gold mine in Mongolia, as it has completed its $3.3 billion buyout of Canadian miner Turquoise Hill Resources (TSX, NYSE: TRQ).

Shareholders of the Montreal-based approved on Monday the deal that gives Rio Tinto control over the world’s largest known copper and gold deposit, with a 66% direct interest.
