How stupid would this be! Dollar suicidal. The Saudi’s could just tell us to stick it where the sun don’t shine and the petro-dollar goes out the window.

The Beatings Will Continue…

…until the dollar system, and the banks that support it, collapse.  Then you better have your physical ‘in hand’.

Here’s the scariest headline of the day: Psaki Says Biden Will Continue To Call Americans Who Do Not Support Him “Extremists”
https://www.zerohedge.com/political/watch-psaki-says-biden-will-continue-call-americans-who-do-not-support-him-extremists

Sounds like “If you’re not with us, you’re against us!” So all us deplorables are now elevated to ‘Extremists’! Old Slo-Joe says: “MAGA is the most extreme political organization” in US history” That senile old man is dangerous.

Thanks MetalsGuy

I heard that the Ruble has strengthened against the USD, but I don’t know how to track it. If they back the Ruble shouldn’t it be a lot higher than the USD? Makes me wonder…

I see Bitcoin took a 10% bath today.

Tough day

Posted by Buygold @ 16:08 on May 5, 2022

Now that we got our post Fed ass whipping out of the way, I think tomorrow we start going higher. SLV holding it’s support just barely.

The bond market seems to be in trouble to me and rates could really spike IMHO

The USD continues its tear. Something not quite right with that move either. Is that the Fed mopping up some excess liquidity and somehow creating demand for USD’s? That doesn’t make sense either.

Seems that a few countries are paying Russia in rubles for energy as the ruble is even higher now than before the war.
Perhaps some of its strength is the belief that the ruble will be backed by gold and perhaps other commodities.
Then there is the factor that Russia is winning the war.
Both Russia and China probably own a lot more gold than they admit to.

RNO Re: Can anyone explain….I’ve been doing that for years but it has fallen on deaf ears.

ETF’s were created by the major banks and brokerages to fool investors into putting their money into these  ETF’s, thinking they were investing in the companies these ETF’s “TRACK”, but in actual fact IMO investors are giving these banks and brokerages total control of all the markets. Dig through their Charters and you will see these ETF’s are all just unregulated DERIVATIVES who’s only obligation is to report the value of the sector portfolio they TRACK, but IMO they (the banks and brokers) all work together  and are  just a giant slush fund that is being used to control all the markets!

I think I’ll opt out

We’re having a sucky day

Posted by Buygold @ 14:48 on May 5, 2022

but man, the SM is in a world of hurt. They might be hoping for a weak jobs report tomorrow to stem the rise in rates.

This is the action that should’ve happened yesterday and continued today.

Silver is just not acting well. Tough to see where we are if silver goes nowhere.

BTW – anyone have any new info on how the Russian decision to back their currency with gold is coming. I know there were a few countries paying in Rubles and China trades with them somehow, but anything new?

Tdys action is meant to get that reaction…..the Bonds have shat all over the joint and knocked the stuffing out of the SM…and that means no way can the PM’s rally…the scum hit them and then the Algo’s have gone tick for tick with the SM all day.

I thought today was gonna be epic……instead I am sitting here waiting till it is an acceptable time to get a large glass of red !!!!

USDX

SBSW

Posted by redneckokie1 @ 13:01 on May 5, 2022

My SBSW is taking a bloodbath today. This stock also pays a good dividend. Inflation out of control and metal can’t rally. Scum really working overtime.

Metals opened strong and sold off all the gain. USDX is streaking up .

Can anybody explain these markets?

You don’t think the boomers, especially the ones who got in office weren’t plucking them golden goose too?
Besides throwing money out the window left and right for their special interest and creating inflation and pushing mothers out the door to generate more tax income for them to spend insurance like medical wasn’t really popular until the 80s. Many jobs didn’t even offer it until they had to. Then notice when it became common how the prices for medical charging up the insurance and the insurance rising because of it started moving up and fast. I remember back when one place I moved by the ocean up north to a little hospital for awhile and two different nurses told me that when they went to use the insurance “ they were paying for” for their husbands and one had a heart attack and in ICU and a big bill found they had no insurance. I checked too and found the insurance had no knowledge of it. The owner was pocketing the money or somewhere wasn’t doing their job.

Buygold re WILL absolutely crushed the economy IMHO

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 11:48 on May 5, 2022

You left out two words. Fake artificial economy.

My grandfather longshoreman came here in 1908 had 8 kids wife didn’t work, no medical insurance.

My father tool and die maker, served in WW II had 5 kids wife didn’t work, had no medical insurance.

I graduated high school in 1962 had two kids and wife didn’t work and I had no medical insurance. My two kids have no kids. Note the decline.

I think a lot of the kids these days are living off and absorbing the savings of the baby boomers.

I consider the above after 1980, a crushed US economy thats been in and invisible depression and it only LOOKS good because of taxpayer money tax absorbing fake jobs and printed money and grants handed out like Hershey bars. So far its still working.

When all the fake things stop working then YES, as you said, the fake economy absolutely crushed

USD just keeps going higher, up another 1%

Trying to buy the dip here, but things keep going south.

@ipso facto re IAM Pressure mounts on Iamgold to overhaul board as biggest shareholder backs activist’s push for change

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 11:19 on May 5, 2022

On the February lows at $2.40/sh a big share holder activist forced them to change some directors, and it started climbing nicely after that. Then on April 18th on highs at $3.70 BMO down graded it, and it started back down to $2.80 until more bad news yesterday, now down to $2.07. Almost back to March 20, 2000 at $1.58. I had a small position on the lows, thought, it was doing great, and disappointed to see it fizzle out. But maybe its another good low to start a new leg up.

Parts from Feb 8th:

Last week, RCF Management LLC called on Iamgold to toss out three of its existing directors, and replace them with candidates of its choosing, including installing Maryse Belanger, a 35-year mining industry veteran, as chair. The Denver-based private equity firm said that urgent leadership change was necessary to address “massive value destruction and chronic underperformance” at the Toronto-based gold company. RCF, which owns a 5.2-per-cent stake in Iamgold, had already forced the ouster of long time chairman, Donald Charter, before its proxy battle became public.

Now Joe Foster, portfolio manager with New York-based fund management company VanEck, which has a 9.5-per-cent stake in Iamgold, is lending his support to RCF, and pleading with Iamgold to acquiesce to its demands.

Iamgold had agreed to replace two of its directors with candidates put forward by RCF, but it rejected a third nominee. Iamgold also objected to installing Ms. Belanger as chair over concerns she was not sufficiently independent from RCF. Iamgold also did not want to give RCF a major say over who the next CEO of the company would be.
