Remember people feel more positive at the top than the bottom. Lol It is near the higher middle right now coinciding with being near 1350. I’m neither encouraging nor encouraging. Just keep your eyes open.

I’m having a hard time keeping up to all the winning these last 2-3 months starting with the Kaving (calfing) fiasco.

Ororeef, yes, tops in Feb thanks. RNO, overbought, thanks.

I’d like for once to buy the correction after the breakout instead of the breakout, like an adult.

Goldielocks, yes we’re at a crossroads but I’d like to bet which way I think it’s going to go, cause I feel lucky! ha ha ha

Beware the Ides of March

Posted by Ororeef @ 20:15 on February 19, 2019
Bolshevik troops publicly burn a portrait of Czar Nicholas II of Russia. The last Czar of Russia signed his abdication papers in 1917, ending a 304-year-old royal dynasty. (Rue des Archives / The Granger Collection, New York)

Top Ten Reasons to Beware the Ides of March

March 15 will live in infamy beyond the murder of Julius Caesar. Here are 10 events that occurred on that date

smithsonian.com
March 4, 2010

1. Assassination of Julius Caesar, 44 B.C.
Conspirators led by Marcus Junius Brutus stab dictator-for-life Julius Caesar to death before the Roman senate. Caesar was 55.

2. A Raid on Southern England, 1360
A French raiding party begins a 48-hour spree of rape, pillage and murder in southern England. King Edward III interrupts his own pillaging spree in France to launch reprisals, writes historian Barbara Tuchman, “on discovering that the French could act as viciously in his realm as the English did in France.”

3. Samoan Cyclone, 1889
A cyclone wrecks six warships—three U.S., three German—in the harbor at Apia, Samoa, leaving more than 200 sailors dead. (On the other hand, the ships represented each nation’s show of force in a competition to see who would annex the Samoan islands; the disaster averted a likely war.)

4. Czar Nicholas II Abdicates His Throne, 1917
Czar Nicholas II of Russia signs his abdication papers, ending a 304-year-old royal dynasty and ushering in Bolshevik rule. He and his family are taken captive and, in July 1918, executed before a firing squad.

5. Germany Occupies Czechoslovakia, 1939
Just six months after Czechoslovak leaders ceded the Sudetenland, Nazi troops seize the provinces of Bohemia and Moravia, effectively wiping Czechoslovakia off the map.

6. A Deadly Blizzard on the Great Plains, 1941
A Saturday-night blizzard strikes the northern Great Plains, leaving at least 60 people dead in North Dakota and Minnesota and six more in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. A light evening snow did not deter people from going out—“after all, Saturday night was the time for socializing,” Diane Boit of Hendrum, Minnesota, would recall—but “suddenly the wind switched, and a rumbling sound could be heard as 60 mile-an-hour winds swept down out of the north.”

7. World Record Rainfall, 1952
Rain falls on the Indian Ocean island of La Réunion—and keeps falling, hard enough to register the world’s most voluminous 24-hour rainfall: 73.62 inches.

8. CBS Cancels the “Ed Sullivan Show,” 1971
Word leaks that CBS-TV is canceling “The Ed Sullivan Show” after 23 years on the network, which also dumped Red Skelton and Jackie Gleason in the preceding month. A generation mourns.

9. Disappearing Ozone Layer, 1988
NASA reports that the ozone layer over the Northern Hemisphere has been depleted three times faster than predicted.

10. A New Global Health Scare, 2003
After accumulating reports of a mysterious respiratory disease afflicting patients and healthcare workers in China, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Singapore and Canada, the World Health Organization issues a heightened global health alert. The disease will soon become famous under the acronym SARS (for Sudden Acute Respiratory Syndrome).

Goldcountry….you’ll get to keep your PM share money by staying north of the wall

Posted by overton @ 16:16 on February 19, 2019

My favorite is Abitibi Royalties  RZZ.v   its only going to get better as the months go by.  For starters McEwen owns 14% of Abibiti and the current CEO puts every cent he makes after taxes back into it.
AEM just said last Friday they are going to build a underground ramp for the higher grades where Abitibi has even more royalties.  They only have 12 mil shares plus they are buying them back.

Abitibi has had a pretty good run however there is a cheaper way to play it with GZZ.v (Golden Valley )as they own 44% of the Abitibi shares.  GZZ should be over a buck right now but many don’t like the CEO and thats the only reason the share price hasn’t moved like Abitibi.  That ca$h  from 44%  of Abitibi has to show up in the share price someday so be patient.  I think the only thing Rob McEwen has is in common with the GZZ CEO is that they both like $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

I’m not a short term trader but I like all three Osisko plays……..Osisko MiningOSK.v, Osisko Gold Royalties OR . Osisko Metasl OM.v for the zinc shortage.  If the shit hits the fan like Venezuela you have to be in US and Canadian mining shares.   McEwen and Reid (goro) can’t come and say that Mexico has become a shithole even after he got robbed but they went to good ole safe Nevada for $pending their next project $$$$$$$$$$.  Both   McEwen’s MUX and Reid’s GORO have ore on the pads for 2019 production increases.

Gold seems to be breaking out in all currencies now, so why not the dollah?
Major breakouts in all currencies gives me some confidence we may finally be at the point of recognition. But everyone is so beat up by now we have PTSD.

The vast majority of my holdings are in phiz. The only stocks I am following now is JNUG, an etf with junior gold mining stocks. JNUG gapped up sharply today and is becoming over bought. I would suggest waiting for some kind of break to buy unless you are very aggressive. Ipso probably has a better handle on gold mining individual stocks.

Roma Erben Feltner

  • Feb 14, 2019
    • [ YE ARE THE SALT OF THE EARTH. BELIEVETH IN ME AND HAVE ETERNAL LIFE]
Roma Erben Feltner

Roma Feltner, born on September 17, 1930, to Otto Erben and wife Emilie Weidner Erben entered eternal life with her heavenly Father on February 11, 2019.  Roma, the youngest in a family of six siblings, was raised on the family ranch near Spring Branch.  She attended Sherwood School that was located on land her father donated to the Comal County School system.  Her grandparents, the Weidners, lived next door on the ranch where Smithson Valley Middle School is now located.  Roma’s mother passed away while Roma was still a young teenager causing her to leave school and take over the operation of the Erben home to help support her dad and brothers.  As a young adult she dedicated her life to Christ, beginning with her baptism and confirmation.  She was an active member of the First Protestant Church in New Braunfels, where she taught Sunday School for many years.  Roma worked at Air Maid Hosiery and Guaranty State Bank.

In 1966 Roma married Carl Feltner.  They established a home for themselves in which they lived most of their married life.  Both Roma and Carl were active in their respective churches; however, they felt if they were going to be a family it would be ideal to worship together.  After deciding to become a Lutheran, Roma received instruction and joined Carl at Cross Lutheran.  On Christmas Eve 1968, they grew their family when Bryan Keith came into their lives.  Twenty months later their family grew again when Stephen Troy joined the family.  Rather than having someone else raise her children, Roma and Carl felt it beneficial for her to be a stay-at-home mother.  Along with other great neighborhood moms, Roma served as a shuttle driver for many trips to school, Landa Park swimming pool, and Camp Warnecke.  Roma also supported various sporting activities for her sons, and later volunteered for various high school activities they pursued.  Roma, a faithful Sunday School Teacher at Cross Lutheran, also served the Youth Group, Altar Guild, and Vacation Bible School.

Gold is at the crossroads right now. It could break though resistance at 1350 or go back down again. Socks can follow but can do their own thing too. You have to watch them. I haven’t bought in even for targets which I could of made some money but didn’t have time to watch them.
There not like blue chips.
If you get in there is a risk at these cross roads so will have to keep a eye on them.

All indices globally have bounced violently since the Christmas lows. We note that pretty much all global indices we look at are at the 200-day moving average, some have a tendency to overshoot slightly. Presented without much comments.

NASDAQ at 200 day moving average.

SPX tends to overshoot the 200-day average.

Meanwhile, growing fears of a global slowdown (thanks China and Europe) have added to the BOJ’s headaches and shifted the market’s attention away from the likelihood of a future exit from easy-policy, especially as many major central banks have shifted their position over recent months toward an accommodative stance.

Confirming that the BOJ is effectively trapped in perpetuity, Kuroda also said the BOJ had no plans now to stop or review its purchases of ETF, despite growing criticism from market players that the central bank’s huge presence was distorting the market.  And while Kuroda conceded the BOJ is now impacting the equity amrket, he added the BOJ will scrutinize the most appropriate means to balance the pros and cons of its policy.

“We will continue our ETF buying while taking into account market moves and the impact on financial institutions, as well as economic and price developments,” Kuroda said.

In other words, nothing will change until one day the market revolts and forces the BOJ to act.
