Outlook brightens for 2019, says Silver Institute

Last year was disappointing, but the Silver Institute is predicting a “more supportive” climate for silver this year. Sales of the US Mint’s American Eagle coins rose 12% in January 2019, compared to the same month a year earlier. Silver should also benefit as the U.S. Federal Reserve is expected to ease off interest rate hikes.

On the demand side, the Silver Institute expects the industrial fabrication sector should see a modest rise. Demand for silver from the photovoltaic (PV) demand is seen as strong, especially where governments support the move to renewable energy sources. Solid growth is predicted for jewelry uses. Exchange traded products (ETP) will expand by 8 million oz. this year. The demand for physical silver investment should grow by 5%.

Yeah, Cortez sat there with a sour look on her face looking like a sore loser. I have no idea how much “theatre” is involved in this BS but she was dripping venom most of the time when on camera. Anyway, it was a good “show” IMO!!! LOL!!!

I didn’t watch it but glad to hear it was good. I can’t watch the news or political shows anymore, it’s just not worth the aggravation. The demonrats are just such idiots. I’m always passing up the political articles on ZH too.

Seems like they give that empty headed Ocasio-Cortez a lot of print time.

I thought he knocked it out of the park!! Great speech  with lots of support and enthusiasm…. but Nancy Pelosi had a hard time keeping the smile on her face. LOL!! Probably not so good for PM’s but good for the old USA, USA, USA, USA!!

USD stronger again this am. Not sure they’ll let us get away with one again today.

…is a royal pain for the crew.  Every car must be hand cranked to manually tighten the brakes. And later on, every car must be manually loosened also.  Imagine walking a 100-car train, cranking on each brake wheel.  It can take hours.   Air brakes on a train depend upon a pressure tank of stored air on each car to ‘set’ the brakes for that car when the main braking air line is disrupted like a disconnect or derailment.  Setting the emergency brakes involves just discharging out the air line from the locomotive end, and all the cars set their brakes from stored air tanks when that happens.

If the train parked at Field started to roll on it’s own with the crew onboard, that tells me the air brakes failed.  In extremely cold weather I can see that happening as air seals leak, tanks lose pressure, and the brakes release.  It takes a long time to re-pressurize the brake lines and all the car tanks on a long train.  Maybe the crew thought they could repressurize the brakes before exceeding the speed limit, but by then the brakes would not be effective at excess speed.

Hand brakes are not normally set during a crew change as the train is considered ‘attended’ as one crew leaves the cab and another climbs aboard immediately.  It can be as short as a 5-minute stop for a real hotshot train.

I know what your thinking though, I think. If she passed away or can no longer work I wouldn’t be surprised if they put her in deep freeze hoping they’ll win in 2020. I don’t have any amamosity towards her and admire her for holding on as long as she did not out taking vacations paid by democrats. She is a roll model for women in that due to her convictions even if I would or wouldn’t agree. How many women to you see in MSM at that age? None So msny years after women lost their youth they were no longer useful in so many fields or could no longer do the work.
Congress on the other hand shouldn’t become a carrear because after awhile they think the WH is theirs instead of the people’s. Like cud chewing Pelosi dictating when Trump can have his address or wether we have a wall to protect our sovereignty or how much money we can make. If they want to tax business 70- 90% there should be a new law the highest amount they tax shall also have to apply to them.

i think melania should take ruth bader ginsburg some nice chicken soup.  i think she should do it every week.   it would be a kind thing to do, it might make ruthie feel better, and it would confirm whether or not the old bat was still breathing.
