Good night , all – just one closing thought for the day

Can anyone imagine the response of the SEC if the Dow , the S&P 500 , or the NASDAQ exhibited the same percentage swings in the same time frame as we saw in gold between 1:00 and 3:30 this afternoon ?

Moving can be hard on kids in school at a time parents are adjusting too. Divorce can also have a effect where they turn off. Schools bring up parents and is uncomfortable to them and make them feel on the side lines. Adopted children also have this issue and should be able to openly talk about it to parents and schools. For instance a child brought a picture of him in when he was 2 or 3 when he was supposed to bring one of him as a baby talking about his first years but because he was adopted had no pictures or memory’s of his parents. He was very positive of his new parents because they were very neutering open with him about it and knew anything they said about his mother would affect him I’m guessing so kept any negative information to themselves.
Sometimes they could have visual issues not recognized or dyslexia I believe Einstein had dyslexia. Sometimes they’re just not interested because the subject or book isn’t interesting, boring or even down talking about things they already know. Sometimes they’re interest is just not there in proper writing or reading until they find something that interest them. It’s like pulling teeth. They need to be encouraged that if they want to get to the things they like, sometimes they have to get through the things they don’t. That includes math on the other end.
If you have teachers giving them a hard time or like your friend, in his case and was set up for that it just turns them off. They can set kids up, usually boys to act up and get in trouble when in fact it was the teachers who also hurt their social life. There’s the stupid kid.
It can ruin a child’s life. In your friends case teachers like that could set them up for bullying of either boys or girls. Parents if they know can do something about it. Yes I agree that teacher should of been fired.

Finally, The United States Of America Has re-Declared Independence At The UN Yesterday

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 12:42 on September 26, 2018

Sept 25 2018 the new Independence Day.

The Federal Reserve is in reality a global corporation, and they better behave. We’re finally chopping “China” off at the knees, the Fed will gets its head handed to them some day.

The $ and todays FED rate hike.

Posted by Richard640 @ 12:32 on September 26, 2018

Overall, the rate announcement is likely to be a non-event and investors will look to other economic data releases, the escalating trade war, and emerging markets for direction.

The US Dollar

US Dollar has weakened since the previous meeting and sentiment remains weak around the greenback, despite 10-year treasury yields hitting their highest levels since 2011. With the market already discounting a 25-basis point hike, the Dollar is only likely to strengthen if the outlook is more hawkish than expected.

There is a very small chance (2%) of a 50bps hike but considering that another hike in December is also expected by most market watchers, even this may not be enough to boost the Dollar.

The US Dollar index (below) has breached support going back to May, and it will take a very hawkish statement for it to regain this support level at 94.75. While all of this appears to point to further weakness, this too may be contained by technical levels against other major currencies.

Get ready for the planned pre-midterm election crash= Insider Selling Soars: Fastest Pace Of September Sales In Past Decade

Posted by Richard640 @ 9:17 on September 26, 2018

https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-09-26/insider-selling-soars-fastest-pace-september-sales-past-decade

One month ago, we reported that insider selling reached $450 million daily in August, the highest level this year; on a monthly basis, insiders sold more than $10 billion of their stock, the most of any month this year and near the most on record.

“As corporate buying is at least taking a breather, corporate insiders are ramping up share selling as the major U.S. stock market averages are at or near record highs,” TrimTabs wrote in a note.

One month later, TrimTabs is out with a follow up monthly report which finds even more of the same: according to the investment research company, the “best-informed market participants” are selling their own stocks at the fastest pace in September in the past decade, even as stock buyback announcements have hit record levels.

Corporate insiders have sold an average of $400 million daily in September through Friday, September 21, TrimTabs founds, adding that this month’s volume of $5.7 billion is already the highest in any September in the past decade.

Of course this comes at a time of record corporate stock buybacks, resulting in a perverse loops in which insiders dumping near record amount of stock to their own, far less informed, shareholders.

“While insiders are selling hard with their own money, they’ve committed record amounts of shareholders’ money to prop up stock prices this year,” said David Santschi, Director of Liquidity Research at TrimTabs Investment Research.

Goldie – I had a friend in college who was the poster child for what you say

Posted by Alex Valdor @ 6:59 on September 26, 2018

When he was in the second grade , his father moved the family to Cornell so that he could work on an advanced degree , so my friend was uprooted and put in a class where he was the new kid . On his first day and very nervous among strangers , the teacher called on him to read aloud to the class . He stumbled , because of his nervousness , and the teacher ridiculed him saying ” I guess kids from Utah are stupid .” (That teacher should have been fired in my opinion .) After that he hated reading , but did well in math and science because those subjects required understanding the principles instead of parroting what was read .

He was a great engineer , and became the CEO of a company in his career .

BTW after graduation he was drafted and spent his military career testing cannon projectile velocities . His ‘job’ took about 15 minutes a day to run his calculations , so he asked if he could read during the rest of his (boring) day . He was told no – but hid a novel in his desk drawer and began reading for pleasure . After his tour of duty was complete he traveled to Canada to see me , just to tell me with great pride that he had just read ‘Hawaii’ – a very lengthy book !

Your a good father. Kids can fall through the cracks in lower grades because they can’t or don’t articulate. However many English teachers get really frustrated with science kids because English isn’t their interest. Even in college I remember one saying science including future doctors write weird or backwards. Then she had me. I guess I made a impression on her because she told a science friend who was doing astronomy ” I’m just a English Teacher.” Your just a English teacher if you try to mold like her and worry more about form and crossing the Ts. If someone’s serious about writing have something to write about. Something a blind person could visualize if he heard the words. The details not arguing about a subject just because she didn’t understand it or science.

Once back in the USA they just wanted to blend in , rather than be the ‘foreigners’ . When their teachers asked them to speak in French to the class , they declined , saying they had forgotten how . My eldest was considered retarded because in French ee means i , jay means g , etc. so when asked to write English words , my daughter who had created her own mental dictionary of English using the French phonetics came up with incorrect spellings . When told to write words on the chalkboard with the teacher dictating the letters , would place an I where an E should have been , G in place of J , etc. The school was actually going to demote her one grade until I took an afternoon off work to explain the spelling issue . Then they discovered she was actually near genius level in math , etc.

That is the daughter who became a flight nurse for a children’s hospital and is an outstanding nurse and administrator .

Later in life , my second daughter did use her French when assigned to work in Quebec .
