Loading ...I have close friends here who are such a couple . He a Navy officer , and she a girl who still keeps her newfie heritage close . America IS more beautiful because of them . They brought sunshine to blighted lives . He died last year , of pervasive cancer , but in his last few days of life insisted on getting out of sickbed to go grocery shopping so that homeless folks could eat . As weak as he was , he made a difference in the lives of others , right up to the end . She carries on , to see that the homeless are fed . I wash the pots and pans .
