Mr. Copper says gold will go UP when the Dopey/Dollar Goes Down

In reality, Gold and Dollars are both strong lately. Its good to have both if the SHTF.

If someone is wealthy and has lots of paper assets then they are absolutely foolish not to be putting money into physical … and by physical I mean something you can lay your hands on.

“I think we are down to 28 now”

I don’t know. That may be a little high. 🙂

Funniest joke I’ve heard in awhile.

‘Can’t get enough’

Posted by Alex Valdor @ 10:51 on July 1, 2018

I take that to mean the price is artificially low and those with the gold will not sell at those fake prices . Sure you can get coins at a premium , but you can’t get tons at spot .

A quote from this morning’s interview of Rob Kirby

Posted by Alex Valdor @ 10:45 on July 1, 2018

by Greg Hunter . Kirby who finds gold by the ton for his clients : “The demand for gold is insatiable , and those who want it can’t get enough .”

It is moving from West to East . Just look at the graphic we see here from time to time ‘Has the System Collapsed Yet ?’. Our day is coming , and every day brings it closer .

Kirby admits he thought the end game was upon us three years ago and still thinks so , but says the [enemy] just keeps doubling down , so to speak . They do not flinch . No sign of weakness from them .

So how long can it continue ? I thought it was over in 2008 , and bet the farm on it , but it didn’t happen . Well , gold did go parabolic for the next three years , but not the miners , as they had done for me from 2000 to a few years after .

Some possible crash hedges: u choose….

Posted by Richard640 @ 10:07 on July 1, 2018

A 100 JNUG Dec 21st 2018 $20 calls are $9000. JNUG would need a 50% move to just get at the money

A 100 Dec 21st 2018 BAC $20 PUTS are $900…a   40% drop would be needed to get at the money–[BAC went to $3.95 in Dec 2008]

A 100 JAN 19th 2019 Amazon $1200 puts are $135,500

These Are The Cheapest “Market Shock” Hedges Right Now

Posted by Richard640 @ 9:09 on July 1, 2018

[personally, I’ll stand pat with my BAC & WFC way otm puts-these are truly the cheapest hedges on the planet-I think the chances of a crash going into an election like this one are small–but a crash is inevitable-if not this yr. then next?]

the question is – what’s the cheapest way to hedge against a crash scenario?

Bank of America’s Jason Galazidis has some answers for traders looking for some protection. The screen below shows that the hedges, ranked by the average, which are most underpricing historical drawdowns are Gold calls, EUR 10y receivers and TLT (US 20y+ Treasury) calls:

EUR 10y receivers and TLT calls screen as the best value hedges after Gold calls. Interestingly, USD 10y receivers screen materially richer owing to increased demand on heightened US trade tensions.

HSCEI puts are the second best screening equity hedge after RDXUSD (Russia) puts despite the HSCEI being the worst performing equity index in our screen (YTD peak vs. current levels).

EU Credit payers have richened remarkably over the last few months, particularly in IG, following the extreme widening in EU-periphery bond spreads in May. Our credit derivatives strategists note that the richening of downside tails in credit (payer skew) reached 8y extremes driven by heavy hedging demand.

ZH READERS COMMENT:

gold was in an uptrend before 2001 & 2008, its been in a downtrend since 2011, its possible that it doesnt sell off this time and just rallies, it needs careful consideration, i now have all the physical gold and silver i want purchased in the last week, im fully hedged to the downside with futures and options, but im prepared to remove these at a moments notice if things start to smell different this time, we need to be very careful here, very interesting times indeed

i believe in gold myself because this time the money system may be changing. i’m just not hanging onto the belief that gold is going up in nominal terms during the next downturn. remember if is gold is such a good barometer of inflation, axiomatically it must be a good barometer of deflation as well. it is also very liquid and may as well as being sought as a safe haven , it will also be used as a liquid asset when people want to liquidate their debts, thanks for your comments

Get Ready For A New And Worse Bird Flu

There’s a new bird flu in town, namely in China, which is where these things often start . . . and it isn’t looking too good.
This new strain, called “Disease X”, kills 38% of those who become infected, and it is feared the new variety could spark a global epidemic “as lethal as the 1918 Spanish flu, which killed up to 100 million people.”
The virus is circulating in poultry in China just now, and is identified as H7N9. Currently, it can transmit from birds to humans.
However, H7N9 cannot be spread from person to person, but if it achieves that ability, it “could be the cause of the next epidemic.”
To prevent bird flu, authorities instruct us to avoid live animal markets and poultry farms; avoid contact with surfaces contaminated with bird droppings, do not pick up or touch sick or dead birds; don’t eat undercooked or raw poultry, egg or duck dishes; and practice good personal hygiene, such as washing your hands regularly.
Experts believe the H7N9 virus “is only three mutations away from being able to spread from human contact.”
Symptoms of infection include “a high fever, cough and shortness of breath, which can then develop into pneumonia.”
Once the disease has taken hold, infected people soon develop acute respiratory distress syndrome, septic shock and organ failure.”
Let’s hope this one doesn’t make those required “three mutations”, folks. If they occur, we will be in for a really, really rough winter flu season in the United States.

Idaho Oregon Heads up

Posted by goldielocks @ 1:52 on July 1, 2018

Plague Has Returned To Idaho

Bubonic plague is found naturally in wildlife in the western states of New Mexico, Colorado, Utah and Arizona. It hasn’t infected humans in Idaho since 1992, but a child has been diagnosed with the disease in Idaho during the week of June 10.
The child was likely infected either in Idaho, or possibly while on a trip to Oregon recently.
Humans generally get the disease from the bite of an infected flea, often from a dead animal that was harboring the plague. Ground squirrels and other rodents carry the disease in nature, and people can usually avoid it by avoiding wildlife and by wearing insect repellant, long pants and socks when in the wild. People also need to treat their pets for fleas and keep pets away from wildlife.
Any person experiencing symptoms of sudden and severe fevers, chills, headaches and often a swelling of the lymph nodes beneath the armpits, should seek medical attention immediately.
Plague activity increases in spring and summer due to rodents becoming more active. People and pets should never handle sick or dead rodents.

I’m even more glad now Trump is allowing Vets to go to any hospital.

Someone I know, a surfer but more important a wounded vet from Vietnam enlightened me about what they were doing to vets ” who were dying waiting to be seen.”
They put them on death lists. They were not to be treated and assigned to doctors that did not exist. Two senators and some others found out. The people who did it got bonuses for saving them money. He testified in DC and wrote articles on it. It’s too late for him now sadly but hopefully he helped save others.
