That’s good you heard from him and he’s having fun. A person I know in Texas says after some sun they will probably get hit with more rain and flooding. They still haven’t cleaned out all the drains from Harvey nor did they pay all the claims. I guess insurance companies pulled out and its state run or something
And still haven’t paid many people.

if you want to try a treat with your breakfast coffee make some TOCINO (filipino bacon variant)

get a nice big boston butt (8-10 lb) cut the bone out of it and slice it.  try for 1/4 inch slices.  you’ll do better the second time, and the third time you’ll be good at it.  don’t worry, neatness doesn’t count for much.  set this aside and mix together in a large (you’ll need a gallon and a half capacity) non metallic container for which you have a lid:

6 cups brown sugar

3 cups pineapple juice (or crushed pineapple)

1 cup anisado  – anise flavored wine (you can use any white wine and a hefty shot of anise extract.)

1 cup soy sauce

1 cup minced garlic

3/4  cup salt

2 tsp cure #1 (#1 prague powder) optional but it will turn out grey when you cook, and won’t keep as long.  ask at a real butcher shop or order on line.

2 tsp MSG (optional)

1 -4 tsp ground hot red pepper (optional).

stir well. add the meat, cover with a tight lid and refrigerate at least 24 hrs, up to 72 hrs.

pull the meat slices out of the marinade and pack in 1-2 lb ziplocks.  it will keep several weeks in the refrigerator, longer in the freezer – about like bacon.

caution, cook slowly to avoid scorching.  it has a higher sugar content than american style bacon.

i made up a batch this afternoon, but i was lazy.  i just got a big family pack of porkchops instead of cutting up a boston butt.

A word to the wise from Adam Hamilton

Posted by Alex Valdor @ 17:52 on June 30, 2018

in a link from his latest newsletter, Zeal Intelligence
(www.ZealLLC.com ) :

” Early summer is the weakest time of the year seasonally for gold, silver, and their miners’ stocks. With traders’ attention diverted to vacations and summer fun, their precious-metals interest and investment demand wane considerably. Thus this entire sector, and often the markets in general, suffer a seasonal lull this time of year. But these summer doldrums offer the best seasonal buying opportunities of the year.

This doldrums term is very apt for gold’s summer predicament. It describes a zone in the world’s oceans surrounding the equator. There hot air is constantly rising, creating long-lived low-pressure areas. They are often calm, with little or no prevailing winds. History is full of accounts of sailing ships getting trapped in this zone for days or even weeks, unable to make any headway. The doldrums were murder on ships’ morale.

Crews had no idea when the winds would pick up again, while they continued burning through their precious stores of food and drink. Without moving air, the stifling heat and humidity were suffocating on these ships long before air conditioning. Misery and boredom were extreme, leading to fights breaking out and occasional mutinies. Being trapped in the doldrums was viewed with dread, it was a very trying experience.

Gold investors can somewhat relate. Like clockwork nearly every summer, gold starts drifting listlessly sideways. It often can’t make significant progress no matter what the trends looked like heading into June, July, and August. As the days and weeks slowly pass, sentiment deteriorates markedly. Patience is gradually exhausted, supplanted with deep frustration. Plenty of traders capitulate, abandoning ship. “

“I know not why any one but a schoolboy in his declamation should whine over the Commonwealth of Rome, which grew great only by the misery of the rest of mankind. The Romans, like others, as soon as they grew rich, grew corrupt; and in their corruption sold the lives and freedoms of themselves, and of one another.”

The $16.20 didn’t stop the decline but it closed at $16.10 on Friday. I bought the phiz so I am still dollar cost averaging my insurance. Worldwide debt keeps climbing and I am still buying phiz. “The trend is your friend, until the end.” I have to believe we are a lot closer to the end rather than the beginning.

Buygold, I hope things are better for your family.

These Are Interesting And Sobering Statistics

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 18:34 on June 29, 2018

Read the last item and then look at Trump’s Cabinet.  No wonder Washington, DC is in a turmoil.  Trump’s picks are bosses who expect their employees to work.  The following are Eye Opening Numbers.  What bothers a lot of people about Trump, is he won’t accept a ‘can’t do’ attitude, or inexperienced, incompetent performance.  He will get results; it just might not be smooth or pretty.

Here are some amazing stats:  Make sure you read to the bottom.  An eye opener!

1.. These 10 States now have more people on welfare than they have employed!
California
New Mexico
Mississippi
Alabama
Illinois
Kentucky
Ohio
New York
Maine, and
South Carolina

2.. Last month, the Senate Budget Committee reports that in fiscal year 2012, between food stamps, housing support, child care, Medicaid and other benefits, the average U.S. household below the poverty line received $168.00 a day in government support.

What’s the problem with that much support?  Well, the median household income in America is just over $50,000, which averages out to $137.13 a day.
To put it another way, being on welfare now pays the equivalent of $30.00 an hour for 40 hour week, while the average job pays $24.00 an hour.

3 Check the last set of statistics!!  The percentage of each past president’s cabinet who had worked in the private business sector prior to their appointment to the cabinet.  You know what the private business sector is: A real-life business not a government job.

Here are the percentages:

38% T. Roosevelt
40% Taft
52% Wilson
49% Harding
48% Coolidge
42% Hoover
50% F. D. Roosevelt
50% Truman
57% Eisenhower
30% Kennedy
47% Johnson
53% Nixon
42% Ford
32% Carter
56% Reagan
51% GH Bush
39% Clinton
55% GW Bush
8% Obama
90% Trump

This helps explain the bias, if not the incompetence, of the last administration: ONLY 8% of them had ever worked in private business!  That’s right!  Only eight percent – the least, by far of the last 19 presidents! And these people tried to tell our corporations how to run their businesses?

How could Obama, president of a major nation and society, the one with the most successful economic system in world history, stand and talk about business when he had never worked for one?  Or about jobs when he has never really had one? The same for 92% of his senior staff and closest advisers?  They’ve spent most of their time in academia, government, and/or non-profit jobs or as “community organizers.”

I bought (years ago) thinking the previous name Timmins Gold indicated holdings in the area around Timmins , Ontario . Not so! – most of their properties seem to be in Mexico – particularly Guerrero in the South of Mexico , a dangerous area , I am told .

Just be careful of that one .

Thanks so much for the well wishes!

Coming home won’t be happening anytime soon, small steps and if she does recover, at least a year of rehab ahead.

Being septic like she is takes a huge toll on your body, especially when you’re older. She’s 60 and wasn’t in great shape to begin with – having been sick on and off for the past several years.

I’ve gotten a great deal of support from friends and family and of course from friends here at the Oasis.

Thank you so much!

@All, FYI Take a look at ALO Alio Gold $1.47

It was once $35, and its got a P.E. of 6.58. If gold climbs it may be a good bet with some Vegas money.

re Dec 2016 low, I called it in Dec 2015 also. There was also a low point in Dec 2017, but TPTB ran the Dollar up in 2018 (to help Europe et al) and put a correction on gold. Europe is “feeling better” so now they can drop the Dollar.

There are ZERO natural market forces, except when the distorted price gets so far out of reality it FORCES a natural reaction.  Will there be a low in Dec 2018??? TPTB I have to assume are non US global, and they push the dollar up by pushing the other currencies lower with news. And lower bond rates.

The US Economy can not prosper with a strong dollar. This country’s living standards have fallen for decades with a too high Dollar and a standard base wage not allowed to rise along with cost of living increases.
