Re story: Illinois’ Economic Growth Is Worse Than During The Great Depression

In my opinion? The entire USA has had no real economic growth (higher living standards) since 1970. In fact, you could say the entire USA (except maybe tax absorbing Hawaii) has been in a stealth depression since around 1975.
The “WPA” has been in full force since, with millions of unneeded tax absorbing, tax incentive, occupations created out of thin air to artificially over ride the loss of millions of tax paying manufacturing jobs. Millions of EPA jobs for just one example. The contribute no things of need or value.
“Service Engine Soon” light? In the NY Try state area? A windfall for auto mechanics. Solar panels? More police, more teachers? You name it. Low interest rates to buy imported cars, and support retail real estates sales.
I was in manufacturing all my life. The birth of wealth. The gov’t gave us NOTHING, and we were creating things of need and use, and PAYING taxes, not absorbing them. This REAL and actual economic decline, (negative real GDP) culminated with the crash in 2008. (the first eyewall) (the second one coming)
