Germany will look for alternatives to Turkey’s Incirlik Airbase – Merkel

Germany will consider relocation of its troops from Turkey’s airbase Incirlik following a recent refusal by Ankara to allow German MPs to visit soldiers stationed there, says Chancellor Angela Merkel.

“We will continue to talk with Turkey, but in parallel we will have to explore other ways of fulfilling our mandate,” Merkel said. “That means looking at alternatives to Incirlik, and one alternative among others is Jordan.”

Your posting this morning inspired me to check out our favorite population of horsetail (in this case, Equisetum hyemale), which shows as the dark green upright stems in the centre of the  attached image which I photographed  a couple of hours ago.  About 6 weeks ago  Mrs. Equiz liberated this patch of horsetail which was up to then overtopped with invasive, non-native English ivy.  While she was focussed on that bit of ecological restoration I was suppressing a patch of unwanted reed canary grass.  I recall you saying once that you formerly were involved with distribution of reed canary grass and other species suitable for roadside and disturbed site revegetation.  In our case we had reed canary grass where it was not wanted in a municipally-owned urban forest.  If you google (King County, reed canary grass) there is a useful PDF file posted by King County, State of Washington.  I am indebted to King County for making their best management practices for reed canary grass publicly available, and I think we are having some success in using their suggested suppression method for this aggressive introduced grass.

As to my recent lack of postings on this forum, my interests do not go much beyond our interest in natural area management in an urban forest – that is when I am not keeping a daily eye on the fiat price of physical silver and gold, plus watching for positive or negative news about our main paper holdings (Silver Wheaton, Sandstorm, McEwen, Americas Silver, Endeavour Silver, First Majestic, and First Mining Finance).  That’s enough to keep us interested, engaged, and content with life, generally paying little attention to all the other market noise and geopolitical noise around us on the internet.   Cheers, and thanks for your many interesting postings.   Equiz

Sweden: 70yo Woman Prosecuted For Complaining About Migrants Defecating In The Streets

A 70-year-old Swedish woman is facing up to four years in prison for complaining on Facebook about migrants defecating in the streets.

A 70 year old woman in Dalarna prosecuted for hate speech after writing on Facebook that immigrants are defecating in the streets, writes DT.se.

According to the prosecution, the woman via Facebook wrote disparagingly of people with a foreign background.

In a post from 2015, she has written that immigrants “set cars on fire and urinate and defecate in the streets.”

This violates the law on incitement to racial hatred, according to the prosecutor.

The accused woman in police interrogation admitted that she wrote the post, but denied that she committed a criminal act.

The evidence against the 70-year-old woman is a screenshot from Facebook.

The penalty for incitement to racial hatred is imprisonment not exceeding two years or, for petty offenses, fines. If the offense is considered to be grave sentenced the defendants to prison terms of between six months and four years.
She’s being dragged into court and threatened with jail for a two year old Facebook post which is factually correct.

While the Western media and leftist “human rights” groups will whine about attacks on free speech in places like China and Russia, in Sweden and Germany they’re throwing people in prison for writing “anti-migrant” Facebook posts.

So, we managed to eeke out a gain today, albeit pretty meek compared to the open.

We’ve got that big block wall of HUI 200 sitting there.

Once again all moves up are stair steps and small stairs at that. Makes me wonder if samb’s slight bounce theory might be on the mark. Gold still is holding up relatively well and the scum attacks seem to have less punch than they used to – we still haven’t exceeded the last low and the COT’s are turning favorable.

What still amazes me is how they can keep prices of all markets at a certain level pretty much all day long without fluctuating.

Trump is acting on his promises but we have a defunct congress working either against him or incompetent like with getting a working health care plan that works both for the people without bankrupting healthcare. It’s not Trump WHOS failing or not keeping his promises is it’s them.

Thanks for the video. That must have been some sight for both believers and non believers. Science can speculate all they want of why they saw what they saw but all seeing the same thing at the same time and even caught by pictures by skeptics? Then the fact that these children didn’t even know who or what Russia was or what was going on there. I remember hearing some things about the Attack on christians in Russians by elder Russian patients.  One woman told me how they were hunting and killing them similar to what they were doing to the jews but not as organized. How one of her uncles barley survived. He was beaten and shot. It troubled her that was never spoken about and more in other countries. There is no memorial for them.
They also want to speculate if it was from aliens they were seeing and different dimensions. If so why was the Virgin Mary speaking of religion and the terrible things that would happen. Also, people can speak of financials and evil from Gov. IMO wanting to play God for personal gain or power with no real God in it but religion still plays a powerful roll in politics as we see Muslims prophet who weren’t even around when the Bible was created to my knowledge and came one of Jesus warning of false prophets in Mathew 24:24 including others like David Korseh and Jim Jones. Most people born in 80 s on don’t even know who they were or how easily they could be fooled by these actors who could work their way into the media because they didn’t really know the scriptures who warned of them or that there will be no more after him until he returns. If the children’s parents were politicians Im sure they would of tried to make it political Im sure by passing the church or its original meaning. I hope you are right. Assuming he loves America, and is really sincere. I just hope he was not duped by the group of people he was and is involved with before the campaign, that encouraged him to “run and say” things so that group (and him) gets elected to power.

Its a no brainer that they have to “wealthy up” the massive middle class of the USA private sector taxpayers, for their own good. But “they” can’t really want to go TOO far, in helping us with tax cuts, that hurt THEM and go against THEIR special interest objectives. Especially seems like they love and want foreign aid, and love defending various countries.

For example, why kiss China’s ass because they have some influence with N. Korea?? I would tell China they are getting cut off, and would dare North Korea to send a missile in this direction, and see what happens to them.

They would be speaking English in about two weeks. 🙂 TPTB simply like to maintain fake rivalries, to maintain their “need” for tax dollars. Not a shot fired during the so called “cold war” with USSR. We were supposed to get a “peace dividend” after USSR imploded if anyone remembers.

I hate to say it, but where is the great negotiation? Where is the bull in the china shop we wanted? That budget the Republicans pushed through was like a practical joke… Did we win anything? And this is the great negotiator?

Trump was our last shot. I kind of thought it was Romney, and then lo and behold like a miracle Trump comes along. I still believe in Trumpism. I have no regrets for ferociously supporting him. What choice did we have?

We had no choice. Yeah, I mean, my fingers are still crossed. It’s not like I’m out yet, but boy, things don’t look good. I’ve said to other people, “It’s as if we’re in Chicago and Trump tells us he’s going to get us to LA in six days. But for the first three days we are driving towards New York. Yes, it is true he can still turn around and get us to LA in three days, but I’m a little nervous.

I got to tell you when I wrote “Adios America” I thought there was a 10 percent chance of saving the country. On the evening of November 8, I thought, “Wow we have a 90 percent chance now, this is a chance that comes a long once every thousand years, we can save America now.”

And now, I don’t know, I’m someplace between 10 percent and 90 percent.

Globalization First is back in play. FIRST he’s going to the Middle East to visit three different religions, to promote peace? That’s a pipe dream. It will never happen. There is no way to conform or modernize all those people.

A trip to Russia, here a trip, there a trip, everywhere a trip trip, does not sound like America First to me. It sounds like our “dependents” don’t want to let go of their “welfare benefits” and “entitlements”.
