Farmboy, my tractor seat conversation with you today would focus, from my side, on the following.

Posted by Equisetum @ 15:02 on January 10, 2017

It seems to me that whoever (or whatever power structures) selected your next president must have liked the idea of a Goldman Sachs-weighted cabinet.  Although I cannot produce any Wikileaks evidence to back up my opinion, my gut reaction is to place my bets with the J. P. Morgan forces rather than the Goldman Sachs forces.  If J. P. Morgan (with its rumored large accumulation of physical silver and its vaults and tunnels and trading desks  deep in the Long Island bedrock) is of ownership interest to the Chinese, then it seems to be good enough for me too.  I’ll go with the silver accumulation like J. P. Morgan.

Now maybe there are some small wrinkles still requiring attention if Mr. Trump aims to have a friendly and constructive relationship with Mr. Putin.  If Goldman Sachs forces are going to have strong influence in the Trump  administration, and if Mr. Putin has really in the past not welcomed Goldman Sachs to operations within Russia, I cannot yet see if Trump and Putin will see eye-to-eye on several important matters.  I cant quite see them taking to a Trump-owned golf course meeting to resolve differences between them, but if Mr. Putin could just get Mr. Trump to join him for a winter  horseback ride in the Siberian taiga region then maybe they could come to some agreement about the Goldman Sachs approach to things versus the J. P. Morgan  silver-weighted approach.

I’m hoping for a good year for silver and I hope you have a good year too.  Cheers.  Equiz

Can Gold AND The USD Rise For Years ? Why Yes It Can !

Posted by Farmboy @ 14:58 on January 10, 2017

gold-usd

“In 1983, gold’s miracle run (1965-1983) ended — gold appears to go sideways in this chart — in fact, it fell precipitously. The Gold BEAR ran from 1983-2001 — note that the Dollar began its major correction in 2001, helped by FED orchestration — however also note that 2007-2009 period of Dollar strength AND Gold strength — the Dollar Rally helping to collapse the Global Economy in 2009. The Dollar CAN rally with Gold — but it is generally a sign of a catastrophic confusion and fear in the markets when this happens (CHAOS) — so it is questionable we should be hoping for this scenario. May you live in interesting times.”

6/1/17: U.S. Mint Gold Coins Sales in 2016: One Solid Year for Hedging

Posted by Farmboy @ 14:51 on January 10, 2017

“Updating the data set for U.S. Mint sales of Gold coins (covering both Buffalos and Eagles) for 2016, here is the end-of-the-year data:

  • In 2016, U.S. Mint sold 1,204,500 oz of gold coins, which is 17.9% increase on 2015. Remember that in 2015, sales of U.S. Mint gold rose 45.6% y/y. The series are generally quite volatile, but 2016 total sales by volume marked the best year of U.S. sales since 2010 and the third best year on record (since 2006).
  • Sales of coins totalled 2,188,000 coins in 2016, up 6.2% y/y, following a 55.8% jump in sales in 2015. 2016 marked the busiest year on record for the U.S. Mint in terms of number of coins sold.”

Hey Maddog

Posted by Buygold @ 13:48 on January 10, 2017

Tend to agree with you. NEM is the “General” and it seems like the boyz use it as a signal on the future direction of the metals. Whatever it is, they are sure working hard to keep the HUI under 200 – as if it’s the most critical level in pm history.

@Maddog, Re Pricing Of Commodities and Currencies, I Blame The Futures Market Players

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 13:21 on January 10, 2017

Most of the players, 90%? don’t buy or sell any of the commodities they are “playing”. They never make or take a delivery of any actual THING. Mostly opinions of the future price. Like a frost coming to Florida, the gamblers, assume a shortage, and bet or opinion the prices higher.

The only time supply and demand changes the price, is AFTER a long distorted price causes a shortage or over supply. Look what happened to Oil. Opinion got the price to $145/bbl, resulting in over supply, leading to $26/bbl.

The value of Units Of Accounts, aka currencies, are also gambled on the futures market. My view is its the gov’t tool or method for wage and price controls. They used to just admit it in the ’60s and early ’70s, after that they go thru the futures market. Via Goldman Morgan etc players.

The futures market is only good and useful for the minority 10% that actually make and take delivers, among each other and need a protective hedge or known agreed upon future price.

The masses of players I see them being used as like Shock Absorbers on our cars.

Another thought. T. Boon Pickens, an actual Oil supplier. I heard him say once…..”If I have a million barrels of oil in a tank, and I see prices rising, why should I sell my oil today, when I can sell it two months later for more?”

Another example, of “players” opinionating a higher price, leading to an actual supplier holding back or hoarding his item.

re your “but the scum are all over NEM etc, stopping any strength”

I’ve noticed over the years, the bigger the big caps, (like mutual funds) the slower they move, like a big ship (low risk low return). The smaller the small caps, (high risk high return) move very fast and easy.

Maddog @ 10:13 The Village Idiot Would Probably Come Closer To Being Accurate.

Posted by Farmboy @ 11:08 on January 10, 2017

Reading/listening to CNBC is an exercise in Psy Ops. Is the article truthful?  Accurate statements? What is the author’s point they are attempting to make/sell? How accurate are their past observations? ( In this case I never heard of the article’s author) My question would be this to her. If someone is doing all this reported selling, then who is doing all the buying?? It’s not like they are dumping gold in the streets or landfill.

Perhaps I should have noted: This article is for entertainment purposes only. 🙂

Listening to CNBC on Gold, is like listening to the village idiot talk about quantum physics.

Anyway I thought the likes of CNBC, NBC etc, had all their journo’s looking for the Russian connection, or at least pretending to.

Good action in the metals, but the scum are all over NEM etc, stopping any strength….dumped my punting Nem…looking to go back in lower, when the scum are done.

I would think this is bullish for us…

Sorry about your NY Giants, but that was a good game as well. Except for the Georgia Dawgs, there have been some good games to watch this season. Guess I am treating the Dawgs like I do the PM’s, “There is always next year!”
