Buygold @ 18:17 You and Auandag Should Drop On By,

Posted by Farmboy @ 20:57 on January 14, 2017

not sure how many more days of these 70’s we are going to have. Average temps for Atlanta in January are highs of 54 and low 34, so this break is quite out of the normal range.  And don’t worry, come july and august I will be wishing I was up north with you. But today, was picture perfect. Even the Falcons won. Been over 20 years since Atlanta has been in the Super Bowl. Kinda getting my hopes up again.

Think the Falcons can beat Dallas, not so confident if they go up against Greenbay. Have to see what happens tomorrow.

In the meantime, you Northern ones keep shoveling and putting on those snow chains. Spring is only 3 or 4 more months away. 🙂

Well heck samb

The best I can do as far as Pete Carroll goes is that my nephew was a cop in L.A. and pulled him over one time for speeding, 20 mph over… said to my nephew, “don’t you know who I am son?”

My nephew let him go but knew very well who he was…a jerk.

Oh, Well

Posted by Samb @ 18:45 on January 14, 2017

Pete Carroll was my very next door neighbor for a number of years…not my claim to fame but, true enough as was blossomy Jayne Mansfield as well in a different town before then. Secret stories that I have…snippets. Mutually greeted Donald Trump at the Plaza NYC back in those days…fond memories of youthful days.

Oh Fer Pete’s sakes Farmboy

75 degrees is unfair, both to me and to Auandag. We hit a high of 18 here and Thank God no wind! I imagine Auandag would think what I have is like summer time!

Now, I don’t want to offend my good man Ipso but I do hope the Falcons prevail. Not because I dislike his Seahawks, but I do dislike Pete Carroll, IMHO he has no right to coach such a good team and he left USC in a mess when he jumped to the NFL.

Just sayin’

Posted by Farmboy @ 16:00 on January 14, 2017

starve to death. That’s an easy call, I’m going fishing. Snowflake Vs Grandaddy Monster Bass….not even close. 🙂

And yeah, might punch a few tiny holes in the can. But be careful, in my youth I was all excited about going fishing the next day so I caught me some worms, and used a 16 penny nail to punch holes in the coffee can. Next morning, I grabbed my fishing rod, sack lunch, and the coffee can of worms. Trouble is, when I got down to the lake, there was only one or two worms left, the rest had escaped.

I was not about to give up my bologna sandwich, so spent most of the morning digging around old logs  looking for anything that I thought would tempt a fish for a meal. Maybe those snowflakes can learn to grub hunt, instead of eating a perfectly good fishing worm ?

Glad you are safe, now get to punching some holes in that coffee can. Wasting a perfectly good fishing day here.

Floridagold @ 14:32 Thought About Going To The Game, For All of 1.5 Seconds

Posted by Farmboy @ 15:39 on January 14, 2017

Not worth the two hrs of traffic to get there and 2 hrs to get back home. Traffic is a nightmare these days in Atlanta. And honestly, I enjoy the games better on TV. I get to sit in a recliner with feets propped up, fix my own eats, and  I aint paying nobody 8 bucks for a beer. Aint happening ! And I have not enjoyed the last couple of Falcons games, so different than watching on television. At the stadium they run a play, and then stand around for ten minutes so the Networks can run their commercials. Seems like it takes forever to get through a game when you are at the game.

And if you read my post to Maya, then there is that bladder issue. My bathroom is right down the hall, no lines, no funky smells, no stuff on my shoes. And I am pretty sure of the fact I am in the ‘right one’ here at the house.

Feels like Florida today here. 75 Degrees if the old porch thermometer is right. IF I heard it right, said on the radio we set an all time record high for this date.

Well, get ready to kick back and enjoy some football, Best, Farmboy

I’m hearing a few calls that coincide with yours of $1400. Axel Merk and Jeff Gundlach say the same. I have a lot of respect for Gundlach, he’s generally right on the mark.

A nice run up into May would be a welcome development, a 4-4 1/2 bull run year run would be awesome.

I hope we all end up doing well, this has been a very rough ride.

Weather

Posted by goldielocks @ 15:27 on January 14, 2017

Auandag, that’s cold with that wind. Id have to think about that or rain lol Guess as long as you can stay warm and the roof holds up. Even so my daughters neighbors home the roof caved in a part of the house from the rain. The original builders left a part of the roof thats supposed to drain blocked with tiles. My daughter house and others there having same issues but their younger so could get up there and fix it.   Best so call builders except for the roofing. So even rain can collapse a roof

Buygold yeah we need rain. It’s not the first time. First drought then rain and floods. As usual the paracites want to capitalize on it, now global warming. We’re a tiny speck in the universe, but these guys thing they can control things. Then they can start with the deforestation, illegal toxic waist dumping and stopping wars.

Farmboy, arent I supposed to poke holes in the can too? I don’t know though. If the roads get closed again and the trucks can’t get through people might need them. Those are big worms and a lot of protein.

Is It Saturday Already? My Bad Maya, … But Since You Are Awake,

Posted by Farmboy @ 14:47 on January 14, 2017

I can tell you need some help with this being ‘retired’ thing, so let me give you a few pointers.

All your life you have needed sleep. Going to school as a young one you had to go to bed at night so you didn’t sleep in class. Then you joined the military, and they told you when to go to sleep and when to get up. All those decades you worked you had to get your sleep so you could get up and get back to work the next day. Good news ! You are retired, and no longer require any sleep. That’s why retired folks have so much spare time on their hands, they don’t have to sleep anymore. An occasional twenty minute nap is all the sleep you will ever need again.

Now about that parrot that thinks it’s a rooster. I would give him a new name like Sunday Dinner. Or Parrot Soup. Or if he is one of those smart parrots, at least teach him to put on the coffee.

And oh yeah, that is another reason you don’t ever have to sleep again, God invented Coffee !

Now you may not believe me about all this, but trust me, in a few more years your bladder is going to tell you the same thing.

The Parrot starts complaining about the lack of room service about sunrise.  After I’ve stumbled thru that fix and try to crawl back under the blankets, then Farmboy starts making noise.

Does nobody know I don’t ‘DO’ Saturday mornings? (grumble)

Is it noon yet?  Is Farmboy gone?  Is it safe to get up?

Yep is right and I am the same barrel right besides you! If, someone had told me five years ago that we would have a 5 year bear market and that the mining indexes would loose 85% of value I would not have taken them seriously. One of the greatest industry collapses in market history yet the only one that has  5000 year of fundamentals!!! Unbelievable. The pendulem swings both ways so what may come is an equally incredible upside that really few of us are now emotionally prepared to handle.

What happened in the first 7 months of 2016 was a spectacular rise in the mining stocks followed by an overextended, yet balancing decline of 4 1/2 months. Should balance out now to the normal Bull cycle of 4 to 4 1/2 months up to 2 or 2.5 months down. (fingers crossed at this point in time)

Yet, the point is that $Gold made a higher Int. low and remains to break the last Int. high of $1375… $ 1400  Dead Ahead this cycle (tax time into perhaps early May…cycle fingers again crossed. )

Yep. My investing prowess in pm’s and everything else put me back in the workforce a little over two years ago. Just hoping I’m not completely broke when I’m 70. Most everything is in physical now. At least I know that can’t go to zero like so many of my stocks over the years.

Best

nice summary about how every gold bug feels right now. They’ve drug us in the mud so long it’s become pointless to watch anymore. Back to work trying to earn dry powder, but if I ever make a pile it’s going into phiz and bypassing the stocks. Leverage schmeverage.

Morning Farmboy

Yeah, maybe a hedge with JDST is a good idea. I’ve thought about trying to own both at the same time to capitalize on the volatility, but since they are like options, it seems the time decay always gets ya.

As for my ability to sense much of anything, it’s a nice thing to say but a bit of a reach. 🙂

My poor performance over the years is a testament. I’m always sensing a down move because that’s what the pm market has conditioned me to do. I am the king of holding longer than I should, not selling when I should, and turning a small loss into a big one. Hope based trading. 🙂

I have no idea what gold will do Mon.-Tues. but I sure wish you well old friend.

Martin Armstrong on $Gold

Posted by Samb @ 10:54 on January 14, 2017

The date was DEC 9th, 2016. Gold was in the process of completing a 4 1/2 month Int. down cycle.  It turned up for a new Int. up cycle just 9 days after Marty made this forecast in a big bold headline: “Gold Headed Lower Under $1000 into the Abyss.”  At the end of the MA blog, Marty left us with this warning: ” Everything is still on target for the move under $1000 into next year.” Those that followed his advice are now in a world of financial hurt.

A clue about Trump’s position on the USD? Should be gold friendly, no?

He added: “Certainly they are manipulators. But I’m not looking to do that.” But he made plain his displeasure with China’s currency practices. “Instead of saying, ‘We’re devaluating our currency,’ they say, ‘Oh, our currency is dropping.’ It’s not dropping. They’re doing it on purpose.

“Our companies can’t compete with them now because our currency is strong and it’s killing us.”

Morning Buygold, Want To Thank You This Morning !

Posted by Farmboy @ 9:51 on January 14, 2017

Going back a bit in my memory but I am pretty sure it was you that I learned about JNUG. It has provided some excitement and a few dollars in the trading account for me. Scary because is ETF, but productive thus far. Did you know JNUG has an ‘evil sister’ JDST, a 3x inverse ETF? Was thinking, you and I have been watching the PM markets for years. I notice you often have developed this ‘six sense’ about when da Boyz are going to smack us down. I’m thinking a bit of JDST might make the elevator rides a bit more exciting, and profitable.

I am coming to the idea that I like making money, regardless if the PM’s are going up or down.  I took a small position in JDST in the last few minutes of trading yesterday, thinking the banksters will start off Tues Morning with the typical first of the week slapping session.

Wishing you a great weekend, Farmboy

Morning Goldie – glad to hear you doing OK

The drought may not be over in CA. but those storms really helped the situation. These pics really are “stunning”

Stunning Before And After Pictures Of The California Drought And Devastating Rain Storms

Just as California’s liberal elites had convinced everyone that climate change had permanently altered global weather patterns such that the entire state was doomed to be stuck in a perpetual drought which would inevitably render it about as inhabitable as the surface of Mars within years, an unrelenting series of storms has struck and in a matter of days filled lakes, overflowed rivers and buried mountains in snow.

Just nothing would surprise me in the efforts some would go to in order to keep their secret order (power) in place.

Going to be close to 70 degrees in Atlanta today. Far cry from ice, snow, and 19 degrees of last weekend. The old saying if you don’t like the weather in Atlanta just hang around a few days cause it will change. LoL Almost tempted to run out and grab a few tomato plants today. There I go, trying to rush the seasons again. 🙂
