AuGirl, my “ahem” moment on not clearing windshields properly cost me $1400 on a NYE.

Posted by macroman3 @ 22:24 on January 8, 2017

I lived in a ski resort for many years and after work one NYE, I was lazy and didn’t clear the snow off the passenger side the wiper had fallen off of. I drove a 1968 GMC 4×4 tank with a hopped up 327 Corvette engine that I could skid logs with (and I did).  Anyhoo, in the parking lot I had to start out to the right as another car parked in front. Gawd forbid I used reverse (or I was just lazy but I repeat meself).

Apparently Audi 5000 plastic bumpers don’t like -35. Kaboom, looked liked ISIS just did a number on another German parking lot. I fessed up with my business card on his windshield but I looked for damage to mine.

Not. Even. A. Mud. Scratch.

Yeah BG, when is open season on water buffalo in DC?

Any chance Ted Nugent could take one with a bow?

I’d feel better if you backed him up with something, shall we say, a little more kinetic…

That is funny.  I literally laughed out loud.   Yep, the ol’ defroster will take care of the rest of it!

Not much but for a Sunday, I’ll take it…

5,000 National Guard Deployed At Inauguration As Michael Moore Calls For “100 Days Of Resistance” Against Trump

Michael Moore is calling for large protests at Donald Trump’s inauguration and “100 days of protest” during the president-elect’s first 100 days in office. Meanwhile, in preparation for protests and/or violence, the head of the Secret Service’s District field office, Brian Ebert, said that about 3,000 police officers from outside the District, 5,000 National Guard troops and federal agents will staff buffer crowd-control barriers and bag checks.

Yeah, I think the cop in your article could have just given the driver  a warning and told him to clear the snow off the roof b4 driving off.. It is dangerous if you’re driving on the highway , chunks of snow could fly off and hit the windshield of a car driving behind. I’ve seen it happen.

But clearly the guy in my article is just a doofus. lol

LOL! That looks safe to me! emoji_1f601

… but you’ve got to admit that’s a little different than driving with 4 inches of snow on the roof of your car, and getting a ticket for that.

PS I think that guy’s defroster would have cleared that snow off in a few days …

O Canada indeed !

Check out the pic in this article.

Mounties in Surrey, B.C., say they were baffled after a driver hit the road with only a “dinner-plate-sized” hole cleared in their snowy windshield this week.

“The driver seemed quite oblivious to the fact that his vision was greatly impaired,” said Cpl. Scotty Schumann. “In fact, the driver felt that the small, porthole-sized clearing on the windshield was sufficient to drive and that eventually the defroster would take care of the rest of the snow and melt it off.”

A Winnipeg man was slapped with a nearly $240 ticket for driving with too much snow on the roof of his van.

Jonathan McCullough said it took him a moment to realize a police officer was trying to pull him over as he drove on Bishop Grandin Boulevard on Friday on his way to a hockey rink.

“When I rolled down my window he asked me why did I have so much snow on my roof, and I didn’t know what to say,” McCullough said. “I was completely dumbfounded by his question.”

McCullough said he had roughly seven to 10 centimetres of snow on the roof of his minivan — enough to earn him a ticket for operating a vehicle with an unsecured load worth $237.50.

Morning Maya, Treefrog, MM3

Hi Maya – it’s just too bad that alternative currencies like Bitcoin and pm’s can’t trade freely without gov’t interference

Treefrog, MM3 – all that needs to happen to get rid of those traitorous Senators is for Trump to do the things he said he’d do. The people will give him everything he needs.

here’s an assessment:

…10 Senate seats that could flip, in alphabetical order:

Bill Nelson  (D-Fla.)

Democrats came into 2016 bullish about the Sunshine State.

But Republican incumbent Marco Rubio’s decision to run for reelection cleared the muddled field and, ultimately, a surge in rural Republican voters outpaced Democrats’ gains in cities and with Hispanics. When the dust settled, Trump won by 1 percentage point, while Rubio held on to his seat by 8 points.

Nelson, a three-term senator, is a well-known commodity in Florida, having held public office there since 1972. And he starts with a net 14-point approval rating, according to an October poll from Public Policy Polling.

Possible challengers could include term-limited Gov. Rick Scott (R), a Trump ally, or any of the politicians who eyed the seat in 2016, including outgoing GOP Reps. David Jolly or Ron DeSantis.

Millionaire Carlos Beruff and Lt. Gov. Carlos Lopez-Cantera, both 2016 candidates, could also jump in. But the two are Scott allies, so it’s unlikely either would challenge the governor should he decide to run…

10 Senate seats that could flip in 2018

if gov. rick scott runs against him, he’s got a problem, imo

treefrog, 20:31, did you say Bill Nelson is up for re-execution in two years?
