this recent bullish move in the precious metals suggests a longer run.  how long?  my thoughts run to years, not months, with some counter trend dips.  how many years?  three?  five?  ten?  more?

…but in time, all good things end.  at some point, the bull will at least level off or perhaps succumb to the bear.  at that point, it will be time to rotate at least some of our (hoped for) precious metals gains into other sectors.  i realize that this is very much projection with a large component of …if/then?  but does anyone have any ideas to share for which sectors to watch.

personally, i am watching energy, food, water, and transport.   anyone have any forecasts for the medium-distant market?  anybody good at reading chicken entrails or cloud patterns?

I love how the dollar is getting hammered

Yep, Another appears to have known a thing or two, although his timing was a bit off. Guess even with his depth of understanding even he failed to comprehend how large a pit these banksters had dug, or the extreme which they would go to (get away with ?) Another of his sayings, and sorry, but my version (memory) is a bit paraphrased: ” When the Lions begin to feast, it is best for the little dog to lay quietly, content with what he has in his stomach.” Those few holding some ounces best beware as the banksters begin to feast on each other in earnest.

Should be an exciting (difficult) year for both nations and markets. Glad we have the Oasis to keep us informed and lend perspective to events as they unfold.

Oh yeah, I think we should be nice to the ole Reef Dweller in the No Wake Zone. The old codger might just end up owning a few of those banks before this is all done. (grin) Course, why he would trade a few ounces for a vault full of paper promises is yet to be explained. lol

Ha!

Cash should not be a concern. Klondike received more than $500,000 last year from its placer royalty with Todd Hoffman’s Jerusalem Mining of “Gold Rush” reality TV fame. And it raised just over $400,000 in December @ $0.10 with a warrant at $0.15. Tallman says the money should be enough to last for about two years “without much or any dilution.”

Sure looks like we’re on our way. Tough for the riggers to stop the momentum with the big banks in trouble.

Another’s ideas sure seem to have validity … wish I could see the future so clearly.

Good to see you back.

Goldman Capitulates: Closes Out 5 Of Its 6 Top Trades For 2016 With A Loss

Submitted by Tyler Durden on 02/09/2016 – 10:01

Just 40 full days into 2016, not only has Goldman been closed out on its Top Trade for 2016, namely being long the USD vs both the Yen and the Euro, but virtually all of its other trades: according to a just released update, Goldman has just been stopped out – with a loss – on 5 of its 6 top trades for 2016.

Or better yet, this weekend’s utterly astonishing news that Europe’s largest bank, and purveyor of over-the-counter derivatives, Deutschebank (i.e., the NEXT LEHMAN), amidst an utterly imploding stock price and exploding credit default swap rate – took the unprecedented, extraordinary step of writing an open letter to the ECB and Bank of Japan to STOP reducing interest rates – claiming NIRP is destroying the system by increasing the risks of stock, bond, currency and commodity collapses. Which, frankly, is one of the most shocking pieces of news I have ever heard – as for the first time, Wall Street is admitting QE and NIRP are not “saving,” but destroying the world. And in Deutschebank’s specific case, likely igniting the fuse under its historic derivatives “weapons of mass financial destruction.” Trust me, Deutschebank is a goner – and when it goes, investors will look back at Lehman Brothers as the “good old days.”

That said, and particularly because the past 14 years of my life have been dedicated to fighting the gold Cartel, I have chosen to focus on THIS MORNING’s news that six of the world’s largest mining companies – including the world’s second largest miner, Rio Tinto – abruptly resigned their membership on the London Metal Exchange. No reason was given for why 10% of the Exchange’s “Category 5” members resigned, but I’ll bet everything I own that it has something to do with ongoing criminality in the fraudulent paper markets. Which, fittingly, may have been catalyzed by last week’s heinous “fixing” of the silver fix – in which a handful of bankers decided the day’s physical delivery price should be 6% lower than the prevailing paper price. Immediately, the world’s largest silver miner, Poland’s KGHM, loudly complained of this blatant manipulation; and after the LBMA, as usual, did NOTHING, 10% of the Exchange’s mining company members resigned their memberships a mere four days later.

In my view, this is the BIGGEST NEWS IN GOLD (AND SILVER) MARKET HISTORY – as, for the first time ever, the miners are fighting back. And given that Rio Tinto is not Precious Metal-focused, it couldn’t be clearer that the mining industry, generally speaking, suspects the paper market to be the fraud I have been shouting from the rooftops of since first reading GATA 14 years ago.

To that end, I have little doubt that this draconian, shocking turn of events will catalyze additional miners – and investors – to scrutinize said paper fraud more closely. Which, in the case of the base metals and other industrial commodities Rio Tinto focuses on, will unfortunately have no material impact on the price, given the massive product oversupply and declining demand. Conversely, in gold and silver, where demand is skyrocketing, supply plunging, and inventories vanishing, I would not be surprised if it acts as a “black swan” catalyst to significantly damage – if not destroy – the gold and silver Cartel. And with it, one of the few remaining threads of “stability” in the dying global monetary system. After all, there’s a reason why I recently deemed the rigged paper gold and silver markets the “very, very last to go.”

Colombia bans mining in country’s vast alpine tundra

Posted by ipso facto @ 10:07 on February 9, 2016

Colombia has officially banned all mining activities in its paramo regions (wetlands) after the country’s Constitutional Court revoked Monday a regulation that had allowed mineral exploitation in the area.

Mining in the paramo — the area of the Andes mountains covered with subalpine forests above the continuous tree line, but below the permanent snow mark — had been prohibited since 2011, but concessions granted before such ban had continued to date.

The court said such exemption was invalid and ordered all extraction activities to be suspended, which will affect about 347 mining concessions, local paper El País reported (in Spanish).

The ruling is good news for Colombia’s major cities, which rely on paramos as a source of water. These moorland areas in fact store water for around 70% the country’s population. The Chingaza paramo, just outside of Bogota, serves around 20% of Colombians, El Espectador reports.

The same court dealt another blow to the development plan of President Juan Manuel Santos, abolishing a law that had allowed projects of “strategic interest” to supersede the rights of the those dispossessed of their lands.

Previously, evicted landholders were given plots of lands outside areas deemed to be of strategic interest.

But the Constitutional Court said the rights of victims of land dispossession must be respected, and that their claims to their lands will have to be honoured.

In the past year, Colombia has worked on improving the country’s mining standards. Authorities have adopted a “zero tolerance” stance when it comes to illegal mining and taken steps to expedite permit approvals. They have also tightened regulations to establish a project’s area of influence in order to improve mitigation of environmental and social risks.

Other than gold and coal, Colombia holds vast and untapped reserves of emeralds, silver and oil.

Saudi Arabia Prepares To Send Special Forces To Syria; Will Fight As Part Of “US-Led Coalition”

As we reported yesterday, in one of the most surprising developments involving the Syrian proxy war, Saudi Arabia and U.S. presence on the ground, the latest twist is that both Turkey and Saudi Arabia are now mulling a full-scale invasion while Russia and the Syrian government continue their progress in wiping out the US and Saudi-funded rebellion. To be sure, there was confusion when CNN Arabia reported first that the Saudis may send as much as 150,000 troops into Saudi Arabia, by way of Turkey, something which Anadolu news promptly denied.

However, the denial itself was softly denied by the Saudi Press Agency, which further stirred the water earlier today when it reported that not only is Saudi Arabia ready to send a special force to fight in Syria, but that this deployment was proposed by the US, which would oversee the Saudi troops as part of the US-led coalition in Syria. To wit:

AL JUBEIR SAYS U.S. PROPOSED GROUND FORCE DEPLOYMENT: SPA
SAUDI FORCE WOULD FIGHT AS PART OF U.S.-LED COALITION: SPA
SAUDI MINISTER SAYS SENDING GROUND FORCE UNDER DISCUSSION: SPA
SAUDI ARABIA READY TO SEND SPECIAL FORCE TO FIGHT IS IN SYRIA
And so, what was until recently purely an air campaign involving all the major global powers (except China, for for the time being), is about to become a full-blown land war, involving not only Suunis and Shi’ites (especially once Iran joins the fray), but also Russian troops on one side and US and Saudis on the other.

Most notably, oil has refused to budge even an inch on what is rapidly shaping up as a precursor to World War III.

Good Morning Folks

Appreciate the guidance on the Gold IRA. Knew I could count on this bunch for some help.

RNO, thanks for the heads up on Cocoa, will do a little looking into on that one. The ole trading account could use a winning trade right about now. And about converting the ‘unwashed’, it is amazing to see the transformation. All it took was having an open mind. I think most of the credit should go to Obama and his Hope & Change. (grin) Think a lot of folks are going wtf, and are more willing to open their eyes and minds to something that rings a little more of The Truth. Kinda makes you wonder if all of America joined us at the Oasis what might happen?

Once again….I quote,

” There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance – that principle is contempt prior to investigation.” – Herbert Spencer
