Why was he wrong ? because he had a Bankers mentality …It was equivalent to saying “the Titanic is sinking and we should do something about those life boats” if it werent for them we wouldent be adrift on the ocean .. So now we have a FED imposing the Volcker’s solution on a crashing Market under some sort of illusion that the life Boats(GOLD)are the reason we are adrift ! How did we get so many morons in Government ?

The Israeli’s have a lie detection system which uses people’s voices and it can detect nervousness, change of pitch etc when people are lying. I wonder if you could use it on the talking heads … or our leaders even?

Barrick closes $298m Porgera JV deal with Zijin

TORONTO (miningweekly.com) – The world’s largest gold producer by output Barrick Gold on Monday announced that it had closed a deal forming a strategic partnership with Zijin Mining Group. The Chinese firm initially acquired a 50% interest in Barrick Niugini (BNL) for $298-million in cash. Proceeds from the transaction would be used to repay debt. Barrick had been dealing with high debt levels in a lower gold-price environment, selling various noncore assets to reduce its $12.9-billion in debt, having pledged to raise at least $3-billion for this purpose this year. Canada’s Barrick was orchestrating a pull-back from operations in the southern hemisphere, having already sold four mines in Australia, as well as the Papua New Guinea (PNG) divestment. Last month, the company had also sold a 50% stake in the Zaldivar copper mine, in northern Chile, to Antofagasta for $1-billion.

Russian Military Forces Arrive In Syria, Set Forward Operating Base Near Damascus

According to Western diplomats, a Russian expeditionary force has already arrived in Syria and set up camp in an Assad-controlled airbase. The base is said to be in area surrounding Damascus, and will serve, for all intents and purposes, as a Russian forward operating base.

In the coming weeks thousands of Russian military personnel are set to touch down in Syria, including advisors, instructors, logistics personnel, technical personnel, members of the aerial protection division, and the pilots who will operate the aircraft.
